I really like your videos
Brenda Jim ref the comments on your horse stalls jim has it down to a tea can you imagine how many man hours it would take to muck out box stalls
the way you have your stalls are just the most easy to maintain horses are happy within them
chuckle chuckle Lady's ears say it all , ( this is my baby stay away ) but what a gloss on these horses coats which brings the question how many hours a day Brenda spends grooming them , every time I watch these vids all of these horses look magnificent Kudos to you Brenda
Nutrition
I agree! Brenda keeps the horses all shiny and looking beautiful!
Just proves that rugs (blankets) are totally unnecessary for a show coat. The only time you need to rug is when they are hot and sweaty, or for in the trailer in winter. A closed fistful of black sunflower seeds daily provides B vitamins for a show shine. See, no rugs here much, and I have never seen Jim hose them down, just good feed, lots of work, and regular brushing. So simple.
The photo of Baron, Lady, and June would be perfect for your 2025 calendar.
yes, dad, mom, and baby photo shoot...nice for the kitchen 😊
I whole heartily agree Sire , Dam and their Filly
@@sueupham2519, I will try to forget the trivia of Lady kicking Baron after the photo was made. 😂
I love them all so much and will be ordering the new calendar when it’s time.
Bree also belongs in the family photos since she is sired by Baron and Lady too. Bree and June are full sisters.
Brenda mentioned the newsletter and as someone who gets it, I can say that it is well worth signing up. It is very obvious that she spends time and puts a lot of effort into each one. I look forward to getting them! Thanks Brenda! I so enjoy watching the horses. They are beautiful and little June is adorable.
🤔Yep enjoying my cooler day also and your video , like early June training also interesting Bree , June , Lady commingling 🫣🤭, funny at times animals / humans at times show the same propensities, nice update on garden etc. full summer day Jim/Brenda 👍👋
I've just signed up !! Happy Days and God Bless !!
Brenda's newsletters are so well written and descriptive. She could write a book about their life, I reckon.
Brenda, I loved Jim's reaction when you said about Earl at the watering trough, "Isn't he cute?" I believe Jim looked at you and said, "Cute," with his Jim look. Too funny! :) They are all beautiful horses and you two take such good care of them!!
I thought Jim would say, "Thank you, my dear!" lol!
@@HensOnly :)
Really impressed with the way Lady responded to Jim’s command to go easy on Brea’s presence near the new fold June, it just shows how connected these horses are to Jim. The garden looks great Brenda and it great to see that both of you are enjoying the summer season.
Just to let you know I have always got the new podcast updates without problems, and I have signed up for the news letter.
Foal
Wow Jim’s voice was so commanding towards lady an she really listened
A great connection between the Horse and Great Horseman
Poor little Bree.. thats my momma too she was saying.....
I feel sorry for Bree.
Welcome to the world of horses , Mare Lady has moved on to her new Filly June . Once June is weaned she'll gradually become Bree's pasture buddy and possible roommate . After all they're full sisters.
Lady really does have beautiful foals😊
The horses are , of course, what piqued my interest first, but as a commercial vegetable grower I have to say, Brenda, that you are growing some mighty fine lettuce in your raised bed. Here in NW Missouri it has become almost impossible to grow great quality lettuce during the summer.
Gardens are never perfect. That's part of the attraction! Carry on and best wishes from north Texas.
Hey Jim and Brenda, Thank you for the very entertaining video and Brenda's tour of the daily farm activities. I really appreciate Lady's protective manner with June for now . horses are naturally curious when a new foal arrives and will try to say hello and investigate. With a few natural predators like coyotes which are very prevalent where I reside in Southern New Brunswick Canada. It's great to have a protective mare in the pasture to scare off these wild animals, until the foal is old and wise enough to defend itself. Brenda your mini farm collection is growing with the addition of Pansy , Rosie The Pig ( I agree with you that Pigs are the most destructive of all the farm animals .) Nice Job Jim on backing Bill and Earl into the shed . the new collar on Earl is really taking shape and forming up to Earl's shoulders.
I wish you could arrange for your pig(s) to have an outside run, it is a small dark place and hard to keep an area of cleanliness for them. Thank you for such wonderful podcasts, I wait to see every one of them arrive (and watch them many times over). Thank you so much Becky
Pride monkey 🙈 😢😢😢😢❤🎉😊
Lady is an awesome mother.
PS The sign on your muck spreader , and you are going to Lancaster Pennsylvania, I would ask that you call in and say hello but I am in Lancaster , Lancashire , northwest England , a bit far maybe , hope you have a good trip to Pennsylvania
Horses have their ears pinned back....
That means business
Boy, Lady sure can pin her ears back flatter than a fritter! She definitely didn't want Bree getting close to her baby sister, June! And daddy, Baron, didn't get any better reception either it didn't look like!😂😄🤣 Good girl, Lady, protecting your baby! Bree is a gorgeous filly, love her blonde mane and tail. Brenda, I think your garden is looking good! The lettuce looks delicious! Down here in northeast Tennessee, everyone is hurtiing for rain. Everything is drying up. My lawn even looks like straw. I'll have to resubscribe to the newsletter. For over two years I've tried subscribing but never get a newsletter. I must be doing something wrong! Hoping your week goes well, and I'll see you on Wednesday!
Seems to me a good stall option would be to extend standing stalls where Lady and June feed. Do you call that your box stall? Looks like ( on video anyway ) it might have room for 4 . And open up the wall on the top so the horses could see each other.
They can hear each other. That’s safe enough.
Your Horses are all doing Great, great video be safe and be well
My dad made a slop out of oats and milk for the pigs. He said it made them gain really good and gave them a full shiny coat. Downside...we soaked the oats and milk in a whiskey barrel and it drew an insame amount of flies.
If you don't get the newsletter, you are only getting 'half of loaf'!
Greenhouse and the garden look awesome. Nice job the stone around the greenhouse. It’s going to be beautiful.
Lady is so protective! Good garden Brenda.
Thank you both for sharing.🐴🐴
The boys sure love their Grandma! The certainly treat you specially and gladly accept special treatment from you 😌🥰
We used a 15 gallon barrel for a pig water barrel won't leak with the plugs in 😊 love watching your videos.
oh wow..I love your stone walk .
The newsletter is totally and completely worth getting! And it's FREE🎉
Brenda thank you take us long today for another great and enjoyable video. Oh yes glad it cooled down you all here in the St. Louis area very hot today 99!!!
Lady, June, Bree, Pansy, Rosie❣️the girls & the steady geldings.
In the 1930’s my grandfather said milk prices were so low he raised extra hogs, & fed his milk to the hogs.
Love the lettuce garden you are lucky the chickens only ate a little I have a lot of quail and they completely wiped out my garden then rabbits came in and ate my tomatoes to nothing but stalks in one night because I forgot to put my cover over them 😮 worse year I have ever had in garden but yours is beautiful 😍
Gosh LADY IS CERTAINLY protective of June love your videos 😊❤
So, why doesn’t Jim buy you a small rototiller so you can cultivate the garden your self?
Good Suggestion !!!
These are very well managed horses. A wonderful combination of educated horse handling. My father, if he was alive would have been riveted to see Jim and his horses working with all their various jobs that get done. Congratulations, #Jim and #Brenda for an interesting episode. God Bless.✝✝😊😊
Love watching your videos and I love your garden.that’s our job for the day out weeding our crops. We don’t have a big garden as we used to cause it’s only myself and my husband so we grow a bit for our self and some to give out to our family and friends.Lady is certainly protecting her little one as most moms would do.
How are your dahlias growing Brenda?
Love the vids❤
i always love watching these horses back up perfectly. you wonder what they are thinking. l
like the looks of your greenhouse now,its so pretty with flowers.and the stonework..maybe get the Amish boys to sling those stones for ya.
glad lady lived through that test,,tight quarters with Bree and a wild dog.
her ears said it allllll.
Skippy is one fortunate little dog.❤😊 he is the personification of freedom. He is certainly in the right place .🎉❤
nice equines

I just subscribed to your newsletter and switched back to RUclips and I'm still subscribed. Thought I would let you know.
I subscribe to the news letter and it is very instructive. It give the opportunity to learn other information about Jim and Brenda activities such as interviews on other podcast. Very good Brenda.
Earl looks so handsome in his new harness.
Jim and his wonder wife are living at least one of my dreams . That being able to just do what Jim does . I love horses and have all my life. My allergies have prevented me from doing many things including owning horses . Still I did take massive amounts of advanced riding classes and did very well. Even had a horse I kept at a stables for a good while. The cost of doing that was equal to my mortgage on a house . So in the end I had to give it up . I love to see you with your wonderful horses . The babies are wonderful
Thanks for the good camera work Bremda.
I was so excited to see the family getting together in your thumbnail and then I saw Lady’s ears back and it turns out she still can’t stand the man 😂 It was sad to see her being rude to Brea but sweet to see the excitement on Brea’s face to see her mom and sister. You guys are doing great and we love watching!!!🙏🩷
I ❤the name June.
That sweet and mischievous 😏 look in Rosie’s eyes 🙃🙂↔️🙂↕️😁so excited for you to see her handiwork 😂😘
As usual, your horses all look like a million bucks. Jim does such a great job with his common sense horse training. I’ve never seen a more well behaved, happier bunch of working horses. Riding horse trainers should take lessons from Jim. They could learn a lot. I come from the riding horse world and they’re always trying to take shortcuts and the easy way out. Their horses often look stressed and unhappy compared to Jim’s horses. Kudos to Jim!!
The best portable pig water is a 10-12 inch pvc pipe with a cap on the bottom with a pig nipple water. And as long as you want. We use them to water our pigs at the fair or in a temporary pin.
I'm not getting unsubscribed but I keep checking. I use Apple products, don't know if that's the reason. Your horses look beautiful as usual. For those that are worried, Lady is warning Bree & others. I doubt she'd kick Bree very hard, just the butt turn is enough to flee!
I also have Apple devices, but always get my newsletters from Brenda.
Thank you for sharing Jim putting the horses in the barn. I always love watching the horses getting a nice drink of water. I know they earned it and it is satisifying to watch them drink. I love the horses. Each and every one. Still love that goregious Ken. A black beauty; not that they are all stunning.
Yea you and the Jim could do a little waltz in the middle of the nicely carpeted hayfield field!!
I really enjoy the newsletter
I believe I was able to re- subscribe to the news letter but i only received a few. Thank you for reminding me Brenda. I really enjoy them and especially enjoyed tagging along with you today. Always a pleasure to see your garden and sweet care for these gentle giants. Thank you Jim! Like a well oiled machine. Your farm flows so well even through the bumps! All the youngsters are starting to find their places!!!!!
Brenda, you do put out a lovely newsletter. Very enjoyable. Bill and Baron sure were moving out with the spreader today. I think Jim likes that, getting the job done in a timely manner. Earl did fantastic today, especially backing the spreader into the barn with Bill. He seemed to be right in step with Bill, responding to commands very well. The more I hear about and see the Suffolk Punches in action, the more impressed I am. A friend here in Maine just lost her SP mare and foal to a birthing gone horribly wrong. So sad. If she gets another mare, I'll have to recommend she AIs her with Baron's wonderful genes. Anyway, great video today.
Brenda, Try putting the bucket of water in the corner and have Jim nail a board in front of the bucket. So your making a tri-angle and the bucket 🪣 shouldn’t tip over. Thanks again for the video!!!!!
Jim can back those horses better than most can a car..
God bless❤️🙏🌹
Wow, the elderberry is going crazy!! Thanks for the tour!
Brenda, the greenhouse area looks cute! I love the rocks you are adding. The garden is looking good too.
I enjoy the newsletter and read through every one of them. It is a bit more intimate, like two friends talking, than the videos.
Poor Bre, chewing, saying, "I'm still your baby. Please don't hurt me." Lady says, "Not any more. I have a new baby to nurture and protect!"
Now you need to find a colt the same age as June and name him Johnny. As in then Cash’s.
I followed a family from Alaska. They made bread out of nettles.
So enjoyed the video! A little of everything. Thanks Brenda!
Wow Earl manoeuvring was so brilliant it's worth me trying to spell 'manoeuvring'
🎶Classical music❔i like favorite flute concertos❔
Brenda great job interplanting to ward off bugs. We did that years ago. When i was younger. Ha
Brenda you do a great job with filming, like the way the horses react to verbal commands ❤❤
I believe I have watched every video you have put out and subscribed with the first one. When I go to hit the like button I always check the subscribed and find about every 6 or 7th time you are unsubscribed.
The harvesting basket is really nice 👍
Wow I’m surprised how protective lady is for June
I think this is one of your better videos as it touched on the variety of things that happen almost daily on a farm. A clogged spreader was a crisis, but a mild one. Farming mimics life and the ups and downs are inevitable and just a matter of degree. As a retired farmer and farrier I must say that I found the temperaments of mares, even when they didn't have a foal with them, to be much more unpredictable than stallions and of course the geldings are the easiest to work with as a general rule.
Hey Brenda! I LOVE your videos and narratives!!! Thank you♥️‼️🙋♀️☮️
You can make Elder flower cordial, its gorgeous. Best wishes from England UK 🇬🇧
His always a pleasure to watch yours video we love it and you did a great job with.hug to the little June.
Garden looks awesome!
It should have been Lancashire here in Britain Brenda with its county town of Lancaster. Coming to that place in autumn which is from September to December, would give you the chance to go to Blackpool and see the lights along the promenade of the seaside town with its Tower. The two towns are not far apart and not far from the Scottish border.
I love how they all know exactly where to go when their harness comes off!!!
What a great video so much going on, hi Brenda /Jim... Brenda lm loving your veg/flower garden you've done a lot of work there and it really paying off.We are having the same problem over hear NO BEE'S or POLENATORS whats going on its so sad! Bree is one very beautiful girl and June is so so gorgeous, she is really quite different to Bree in a few ways and as big as Bree is l think June might turn out to be a very big mare.l truly think June could be shown in the ring she's a real stunner. All the horses are looking amazingly healthy,Baron has turned out really well what a horse. All the very best dear friends 💞
This has been a very enjoyable video, a little bit of everything and good to see what's going on with producing whatever you had in the greenhouse. Wider paths in the garden, there is no hard and fast rule you can't if you were the only one using it. Just a beautiful garden around the greenhouse!
Yes Brenda I had trouble signing up it did not go through Love June and Lady protecting her
Hey Brenda, I'm a person that was unsubscribed somehow. I just stopped getting the emailed newsletters several months ago. Great video today!!
Looking forward to the horse progress days. I plan to be there Friday. From new Jersey
Always love watch'in thanks for share'in... God bless..!!!
On a Lancaster trip I'd be planning a trip to Shady Maple Smorgasbord.
Hello Brenda and Jim. To your question about not receiving the weekly newsletter. The following was also passed on to me and I always found the newsletter fun and interesting to read. But the last one was from April 16, 2024. (The three Suffolk Musketeers meet for the first time). I have now registered again. Thank you in advance . And I look forward to the next newsletter. Greetings to everyone there, from Friesland (Netherlands).
Brenda the view with you outside of the sky says rain.My grandfather who was a railroad engineer used to say, mottled sky not long dry.His time was in the 40s and 50s.His head spent alot of time leaning out of the engine which made him an amateur meteorologist. 😊
As i watched Bree with Lady June and how Lady wanted to go after Bree I noticed in the barnyard Pansy and Skippy just stood back looking in as we will stay right here. Like kids in a play ground to see if a fight will happen..lol... Jim got on Lady right away and she listened to him. This tells you how much the horse's listen to Jim. Bree is so big seeing her next to Lady as she will be tall like her. Garden looks wonderful and love the rocks how the decorations with them are going. Stay safe and God bless you jim and Brenda
🙏 Thank you for the great tour of the farm ❤
Just amazes me how you can control those horses
Brenda creates a wonderful newsletter that really gives beautifully to the world. Sign up if you have not done so.
4:47 ladies mare face!😂
Elderberry mmmmm! Elderberry jelly, elderberry syrup on pancakes, waffles mmm good!
Another beautiful video well done love it Brenda. Skippy is the greatest supervisor over the farm nothing escapes his attention. All of the horses look like they are in great shape with shiny coats. I love the smell of a clean horse brings back wonderful memories. I think that I am still signed up for your newsletter and I can't wait to read it when it comes. God bless you and your family for all of your hard work to share these videos with us. Please stay safe.
Brenda, thank you once again for a very entertaining video!! Lady's reaction to Bree getting too close was unexpected for me, since Bree IS her daughter, but I get it. She's just being a protective mom to June!! Was nice seeing Skippy, Rosie, Pansy & of course the horses as always. Love your garden & green house!!!! Have a wonderful rest of your week, Brenda & Jim..
Thanks for sharing!! 💕
Brenda, I am one of those who was unsubscribed to you newsletter. I hope you know that we ALL love you and are interested in everything your hand touches. If they aren't perfect, it matters not. Like you said, we do the best we can. Jim, it always happens when we hurry, something happens that cancels all the gains we hoped to make. Skippy's feet are going to smell to high heaven after running through the spread manure. Gonna have to make a foot bath for him before he comes into the house. We milked 60 cows on the family farm, and bred the cows to calve in July and August. Meaning we had lots of colostrum to feed pigs in late summer. Usually 4 or 5 pigs every year. Colostrum grows super pigs added to garden plants after harvest. We had great pork to eat and sell.
Thank you for sharing your lovely video.
Dear Brenda, Have you heard of Elderberry Fritters? Recipes are on the net, first tho' remove any bugs etc. It's lovely to watch your lives and hear how you calmly cope with weather setbacks etc. and appreciate te gift of good weather when it comes. May God continually Bless you both, and yours family xx Maggie and Ken, who is making progress Thank you for your Prayers. X
Woow,100.000- super, Glückwunsch 👆👍👍👋
Brenda you do a remarkable job on your newsletter. I can't wait to read it, love the pictures! Anyone that hasn't signed up for it, or is not getting it anymore sign up again it's very informative. Brenda even includes quotes and sayings from interesting people❣️ Today's video was great, Brenda I could envision eating a big bowl of your salad greens! 🍴
Hi Brenda, I was unsubscribed early on, wondered what happened. Thanks for the heads up. Apple trees are biannual unless you prune them each year, then you will have a moderate crop each year.
The garden looks great Brenda, and those weeds will be there tomorrow!!
