No abs, drum brakes, you had brakes technically but at the weight and speed these guys were going those brakes were very unreliable. Look at dnf rates back then you were lucky to even finish a race. Imo racing prior to the mid to late 90s is different from everything after that.

@@kilerkacper3422 In 2007 Fernando was having all the team against him especially in Budapest and after Budapest, they put him hard tyres and more fuel in the pitstop he stays to protest to the team wall and in the same time to make Lewis lose sometime because he didn’t let him by in the first run of the Q3 because they had a pact to respect between each other and Lewis didn’t respect it, but the fia robbed him because it’s not written on the regulations that you can’t do that, and the stewards said to Fernando before the night that he was not going to be penalise lying to him, and when everyone left the circuit and was sleeping in their hotels in the middle of the night they penalise him treacherously. For 2010 and 2012 Seb and Fernando were unlucky but Seb made more mistakes than Fernando, and he had clearly a faster car than him so for me Fernando deserved a little bit more those titles than Seb to make those mediocre Ferraris especially the F2012 to fight for the title against the Super Redbulls and McLarens.

Because of no of races & competition numptey, f1 cars, esp a while back had far more difference ls, bigger gap, in other forms they're is far less room for difference in the vehicle, also more cars on the grid mean more chance of crashes, &others winning, you only have 20 in f1, max 24, & there's never more than 3 fighting at the top in one year, he'll it's seldom 2 real fighters,.esp of late.

I just saw a video where this dude took the chess elo rating system and applied it to f1 (in two different ways) and it made fangio and Alonso the top drivers with the highest ever elos. Idk if it’s logical in anyway but I’m not surprised fangio is incredible
