I have been cutting my boy's hair at home since the pandemic started but with his autism and sound sensitivity, it really has been better for us (you can't cut hair with headphones on). I knew I was missing a couple of steps to make it look professional and having a nice haircut is really about dignity. I'm the type that needs to understand the geometry of what I'm doing, though, and this is the only video I have found that showed me the map and angles! Thank you again! You have really done a wonderful thing for all of the parents and caregivers in these situations.

Thank you so much! Since the pandemic I have cut my son's hair off and on. Now that we are in a mandatory proof of negative test for 6 and above I must now continue to cut my son's hair. For a child with sensory issues this is by far the best route than wrestling with my son. Thanks again.

Yes you can just look at head shape, I would keep more longer around crown at the back. Depends on the shape required. Starting from the nape of the neck keep fingers straight up, going towards crown you need to bring your fingers more to 45 °. Then more texture for the top hair. I would do point cutting technique. As far as I know the hair at the crown should be shorter than the forehead. Would you please correct me if I'm wrong?
Hi, thank you for watching. Not necessary, all depends on your style, customers request, head shape and hair type. I would recommend for the FIRST time leaving it longer at crown area. If you feel that hair is too long you can trim a bit more. It's just that area if you cut too short it will sticks up and then you have too cut it more shorter. And leaving longer at crown gives nice head shape. 🙂

This is hard to do on thick hair
Try to take smaller sections, it will take longer but you won't get chopped hair cut. Where needed use thinning scissors to reduce thickness.
