  • Andy is skating in our new Rebel Sports collection. The shoes will be available soon. You can find some of the apparel already at hetnies.com/collections/rebel-....
We proudly welcome Andy Anderson to the skate team. Not only can Andy hop onto a 32-stair handrail and handle massive transitions, he has an unmatched imagination for how to skate whatever he sees thanks to his foundation in freestyle. Filmed and edited by Mike Manzoori.
With cameos from Pierre-André Senizergues, owner and CEO of etnies, and Don Brown, our VP of marketing, watch Andy skate from our headquarters to the etnies skatepark in Lake Forest.
“I’m affiliated with etnies because it was the first skater-owned shoe company. It doesn’t get more OG than that,” said Andy Anderson.
Ryan Sheckler said, “Andy is the most unique and talented skateboarder! I get lost watching him skate, I am beyond excited to finally be on a team with him!”
“It is uncommon to cross paths with a young skater whose talents range from freestyle, street spots to transition that can bring it all together. Andy skates it all and appreciates all types of skateboarding roots,” said Pierre-André Senizergues, owner and CEO of etnies. “Andy skates with the highest level of trick difficulty! We are proud to welcome him to the etnies team.”
Due to the long harsh Canadian winters Andy grew up in, he turned to freestyle to satisfy his appetite for inventive skateboarding. Being anti-ollie in his early days, Andy’s trick selection is as unique as they come, blending an almost forgotten style of board control with a modern eye for where to ride.

Even if you aren't totally into his style of skating, you def have to give Andy a ton of credit. He's overcame quite a few hurdles & has challenged what's considered normal or even "cool" (The helmet, the board rails, the freestyle tricks). A mix of him doing what he wants & not letting trends and opinions dictate his skating, along with that he actually has an extremely solid foundation from basics all the way to advanced tricks, not only freestyle but transition AND Street skating. Honestly I'm glad hes helping change some of these outdated and "gate keeper" esq strangle holds that are on the skate community. When you get a bit older, and step back and think of all the weird stuff we tend to hate on and belittle (guilty myself!) You realize just how weird some of it is. Skating was always SUPPOSED to be about freedom of expression. When you start bogging it down with unwritten rules and labels of whats cool or not, it makes skating feel just like the jocky minded atmospheres most of us started skating to get away from! So I'm happy for Andy, I hope he keeps challenging the "norm" and most importantly, what some of us have forgotten how to do, HAVE FUN!!

I've just been recently getting back into skating as much as possible, grew up with downhill, transition, and street. Andy inspires me to enjoy all of those. I had the tendency to get tunnel vision on something I thought was popular and start to burn out. Just be free, its your life.

Idgaf about your flip tricks, if you boneless a stair in my presence we're skate homies 4 life.
As for me, I boneless everything because it's fun. I no comply because I find it easy. I grind 50-50's almost exclusively because it's satisfying. I rode rails on my first Vision board, and I still ride them on my modern Black Label board, today. Sometimes I'm glad I've skated solo for almost 20 years, and sometimes I miss doing it with buddies. But either way and anyways, skating has never been about other people's opinions for me. Cheers!

Way to pick up Andy Anderson, Etnies! There are tons of insane tricks in this video... 1:43 tho... I'm not sure if anybody watches, or participates in Parkour...but that was extremely impressive. It's very hard to pop vault that quickly, and with a skateboard as well? Like, to ollie into it, use his feet to bring his skateboard up the wall with him, and do a sort of "no comply" out? That is next level athleticism. The amount of control he has over his board is just insane. It's like an extension of him, no different than an arm, or a leg. Super impressive. Love the style too. Oh, and those shoes are 🔥🔥🔥

He just can do it all. Andy's skating is so unique, you can't really guess what kind of spots he's gonna hit or what kind of tricks he's gonna come up with... so sick! Congrats Andy!

Bet they are kicking themselves in hindsight haha. Andy has been talking up Etnies for years and even knows the history of the owners in freestyle. Shoe company soulmates.

His style reminds me of the 80s and the velcro over the laces on his shoes makes me want a pair... I'm probably too old to skate now but they still look really comfortable for every day wear. 😁

As skating should be. Enjoying yourself and doing what feels good. Andy's incredibly innovative, mixing different tricks of multiple eras. Top bloke and a fantastic role model.

This fool is so underrated he's style of cultural shock is so unseen for good reason and it's amazing to see how far he's come. I've skated since a wee boy and don't put as much time due to other sports but thanks to Andy it's truly inspired me to keep going harder. One love brother

Growing up when Ryan Sheckler was a kid those were good times. This is just so fresh and fluid what a great addition into the professional scene. Saw videos of Andy from years ago its great to see him grow into the sport as people appreciate his vision and style.
