Only one that showed how to place zero drag spring. Well done. Had to remove tires the second time to put it back. Without this video I would have to gone to a mechanic to find out.

Good video. My 07 Expedition was the same, but my current 2010 is different. No anti rattle clip and no Caliper mounting clips for the inside pads. That big anti-rattle clip on my 07 was a pain to get back on, but I didn't have to bend it. Recommend that people open the bleed valve on the caliper when compressing the caliper pistons, so that you don't push the cooked and contaminated brake fluid that is in the caliper back into the brake lines.

Use Syl-Glyde silicone grease (from your local NAPA store) to lubricate the caliper slider pins. On later model Ford Expeditions (mine is a 2010) one pad goes on the inside and the other goes on the outside, and if you mix these up, you will likely have severe problems with those pads (and the rotor) after a short time.

I was wondering what size the front was. I tried everything i had at home. Even when to autozone and they told me it was a 7mm in the front. I tried them all everything was to big or to small. I guess I tried again with the 9mm. I'm going to try a long 9mm maybe the socket one i have doesn't reach. Thanks again

The bending of the caliper bracket was clever! After struggling with it for 30 minutes I applied this trick and had it back on in less than 30 seconds.

Just an FYI, you don't have to take out that hex bolt. Nothing bolts that bracket to the caliper, so if you don't have a Hex, just take the brack it off and slide the whole thing off the wheel and they'll pop right apart.

I recommend if you want to do a proper brake job having your rotors turned to have the glade taken off so your brake pads have a fresh surface and will work much better

Yours was like the eighth video on this I watched it was the easiest time to stand and I learned the most. You're the only one that said anything about greasing the parts. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Literally would not have even occurred to me. To buy brake cleaner when buying brake pads.

Awesome video!!!! I always watch these as a refresher! I have to say your video is by far the most on point. 💪🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯💯💯
I have a question? Where the hole comes from to insert the spring? (5:17-5:27)
Is it a special bracket with a hardware kit? I bought my truck used so I'm still finding stuff every repair! Some ppl don't even use it. So, All of this time... I haven't used it either. Lol 😆 So is it necessary? What purpose does it serve?

What bit loosened the caliper guide pin? I heard T45 torx or 7mm Allen/Hex. I tried both and others but none fit. The replacement pins use 7 metric size Allen/Hex. For the brake caliper guide pins on the vehicle, a T55 torx is too small and a T60 is too big. Any ideas?

I would have used the old brake pad to compress the caliper, not the new one. You shouldn't have to modify the anti-rattle clips.

  • @richardgauthier4596

Be careful leaving the brake master cylinder cap off. Brake fluid has an a finite for moisture and can contaminate your brake fluid causing potential brake failure.

When spraying the rotors with brake cleaner and when reassembling the brakes, the springs are not in the same position as they are when you are showing the spring removal. Which is odd unless you staged the first part of the video after completion. Look at the long arms of the spring and where they are when you show the spring removing procedure. Suggesting folks bend brake parts to put them in wrong may not be a great idea.
