    The screw in the back is a bit challenging. Yes that small little plastic door was broken. I removed it. I did not remove the glove box, I was able to get to it from underneath once I removed the fan. It took me 15 mins. I have air coming out of those vents now. I still need to add Freon or replace my compressor but it is definitely better. Thanks for the video. I have a 2004 Ram that I bought in 2006. I've had my truck for 13 yrs and I have been suffering since. Thanks for the video.

    2008 Ram 3500. Symptoms, Blower operates only if high is selected. AC light on AC switch push button only illuminates and AC only operates if blower is selected to high. Fan blower motor sounds like its bearings are failing. Replaced fan blower motor assembly. Fan sounds normal with new unit, but other symptoms persisted. Replacing the resistor assembly with new unit, fixed the other issues. Thanks for posting the video.

    Yes my door was broken same place by the hinge and took it out through fan hole. Doorman makes a replacement door for like $25 but I run my AC on recirculate 100% of the time for the coldest setting. I think your fix is mixing air from the outside its not max AC its not recirculate wont be as cold on a hot day and fumes in traffic its letting outside air in being in South Florida. there is another video where the guy blocked the fresh air inlet under the cowling with flex tape so outside air is blocked Im taking that route and super quick fix. The screws are are removed 3 ways flat head, torx 25, and 5/16 socket. The torx worked the best for me. I didn't remove the seat but it was a mother to get to the back screw all did it by feeling around and took pics with my cellphone upside down was easier to put back in then to take out

    On a 2006 dodge ram 1500 slt 4.7L you can get to the actuator by removing the glove box. Super easy. When you remove the actuator a little white plastic pin will stay behind you can break the tabs with a razor blade by just using the tip it will just come out easy. Trying to push our hammering child break the housing.

      Clogged A/C evaporator coil, located immediately downstream of the blower fan. The (designed) absence of a cabin air filter means any dirt/dust sucked in by the blower fan will stick to the condensation on the evap coil, eventually caking the front face with a wall of hardened dirt, blocking airflow. Travel on dirt roads/off-roading will make this much worse.

    Mine has started to have low airflow on full blast as well. Before I remove the thing, should or could I just take the cowl off thr outside and use some duct tape or similar to block off the outside intake venthole so it's just on recirculation forever? Also is there another actuator that does the vent selection like for defrost vents and stuff

    • @Deka650
      @Deka650  6 лет назад

      FTG Grandsole i can only think of 2 reasons of the top of my head why it be warm 1. Your system is low on refrigerant witch you recharged 2. Your ac Compressor isnt working or has a short so its not kicking on pushing cold air in, but your saying your just getting warm air on driver side so cant be that either since your getting cold air on the other side. Im not sure to be honest as far as the smell i had the same problem on one of my other trucks my heater core was busted so coolant leaked inside my hvac so when i turned my ac on i get that smell blasted right in my face pretty sure thats not safe to be inhaling so replaced the heater core and cleaned out the hvac solved that problem sorry for the long respond hope some of that was helpful in some way

    Hello, question i just bought a 2003 dodge ram 1500 and Im having the same issue ( not enough air coming out of the vents). I went ahead and took the blower out but i did have any door laying on it. It looks like it was already removed. But i keep not getting enough air. Do you happen to know what else could be? Thanks

    I have a 2007 2500 and it doesnt blow hard. I was searching how to clean the filter,is there a filter? After reading all these comments has me wondering if this might be my issue? If it is the issue and folllow this video, do you leave the door out as a temporary fix or do you fix it later? And if you remove the door what does this affect?

      any luck? looking for info on door's function/purpose

      @@steelernation1038 - The door is driven by an actuator that rotates it between covering the opening behind the glovebox (recirculation air intake) or the opening to the windshield cowling (fresh air intake). When the door is broken/removed, the HVAC blower fan will be pulling air from both sources, fresh air and cabin air.

      There is no cabin air filter on these trucks.
