Strings and Speakers makes the sound, so forget about guitar brand, pick-ups, tone wood and all that ships. Tube amp. Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, cheap Squier with lock tuners and good setup, done way under $1000
There's a rumour that Rob's intro was done without any editing, and that he learned that glitching vocal technique from a strange man living in a cave in the Dingli cliffs who has spent 40 years beatboxing on his own, just waiting for a protegé to teach his techniques to.... Of course, this is just a rumour...
The Lion sounds so good it's unreal- as good or better than many tube amps I've played through. UAFX really jumped ahead when they came out with it- imo. That said- technology tends to spread once it's available so- I look for there to be more great options from other makers available soon. They'll reverse engineer the Lion and figure out why/how it sounds as good as it does- then they'll either license the use of that tech or create something similar they can call their own- it always happens. And that's when the pricing starts being what separates them- so you end up with affordable versions.
Had to look at the decibel meter to make sure I wasnt crazy. Normally the volume is at 90-100 but this felt like proper punch to the chest with the mix but sitting
I’ve been watching Anderson’s tv and Chapman for years now and I still can’t get over one fact. Chappers always sounds out of tune.. there’s nothing more off putting from a guitar player being out of tune.. wonder if he can actually hear it or not..😢
Much earlier than Tight Fit, The Karl Denver trio did The Lion Sleeps tonight, under the title Wimoweh (1962) and another version by the Tokens was also in the charts then.
Indeed. I recently bought the new epiphone inspired by Gibson Korina V. Man, that guitar is so good. Finish is flawless and plays like a dream.nothing cheap about it.
It kind of sounds like the amp is in a room down the hall with the doors open. I'd prefer a presence knob on this "amp" pedal that would let me bring the sound a bit further forward
That digital stuff is getting out of control!. Great Squier too, just bought a Squier VM 70's bass because I could not afford Fender. The feeling of the neck is just as good as the Fenders I played.
For $997 I'd go with Kraken V4 Preamp Pedal, Strymon Cloudburst, and Yamaha Pacifica 112V Violin Sunburst (The ESP LTD EC-256FM in Lemon Drop is still pre-order and would have blown the budget by $17)
I see the problem, the numbers I have listed are all in £ from the Anderton's website, I've just never used the symbol before. (I also had to assume I was in store since I couldn't get the Pacifica shipped to the US).
Yes, and my step dad was IN the Tokens (originally the Linctones (Name taken from Lincoln Highschool in Brooklyn where they all met/first band), then they were "Darrel and the Oxfords" (they had one hit... I don’t watch Rob or Andertons much anymore but when they’re together I watch them all. They are the same now as 4-5 years ago. In a good way. Just need Rabea and Matt to complete the dream team.

Dangit, when I edited the above, i left out the part where my stepfather was in the Tokens from the start... they were all friends in Lincoln High... and kept going till around mid 70's...(Then Jay Siegel and a couple others formed "Cross Country"), and the Tokens were no more. Jay continued producing music for several artists... Years Later though, Jay revived the legacy, and still tours with "Jay Siegel and the Tokens" to this day... wow.... thats a loooong career in music. Go Jay!!
Distorted guitar sounds are a fairly subjective thing. Different players like totally different types of distortion/overdrive/gain/whatever you want to call it. I did not like the sound of this at all. That doesn't make it bad. To me, it sounds very low-mid thick.
Its always good to see Rob the shred master on Andertons channel. Such a great musician and i was turned on to Rob 10 plus years ago and i really want a signature Rob Chapman guitar. Amazing fiddles.
What's funny about single pickup guitars. Is that the most famous player of a single pickup guitar and the guy who likely inspired people like Phil X to use single pickup guitars, Eddie Van Halen, his most famous guitar didn't have one pickup(technically). He had one humbucker wired and then a single coil unwired. The large majority of VH albums weren't recorded with a single pickup guitar.
I have every piece of gear in this video except the Heavenly lol. The G&L MFD pickups are overpowered. Roll the guitar volume back to about 8 and they sound like regular singles. That would have cleaned up the fuzz. The G&L S500 comes with the bass contour so you can roll off bass. It’s a sleeper killer guitar. You should have also switched Lion IR cabs until you found a better match. Also roll down vol 2 that’s the woofier of the two channels.
Solomon Linda wrote The Lion Sleeps Tonight under the title Mbube, because Mbube means Lion. Linda was shafted out of all his royalties. A Lion’s Tail tells the story. Wimoweh must be the English word for Cultural Appropriation, or something.
I've got an USA ASAT Special that I love. I would have liked to see it receive the same amount of attention as the Fenders, but you know who's buttering your bread... Also, Phil X is wrong. The physics simply does not support the string pull "theory" and there are YT videos that use scientific instruments to completely disprove it. The magnets are too weak and the mass of the strings is too low. #Facts
That Paranormal sounded like complete trash to me first time around. Maybe it’s my headphones. Sounded better in the second go. I would have spent more time dialing in the G&L, but overall the traditional Tele is my pick.
Nope. I love this gear - but feel that this one is a cheat. What if your potential gig is a cafe setting - with no PA? I think the rigs have to have a speaker - so this should have the added cost of a FRFR of some sort. I think the rules in one of the first one's of these even stated that amp had to be loud enough - and not just go through a PA. Understand you have to sell a product - but this is a fail.
Severely disagreed on the best sound. That butterscotch Tele was the winner for me and would cut through a band mix on stage way better than any of the others. But then I play single coil Teles by default so I might be a teensy bit biased!
The version "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" that MOST people remember is by the do-wop group The Tokens in 1961. It was written by Solomon Linda a South African as "Mbube" . It was recorded as "Wimoweh" by the Weavers in November 1951. It has been covered many many times.
Are you selling a Marshall speaker for £2 ? As advertised on facebook.
No, unfortunately this is a scam that we are currently aware of. Please report these ads if you see them. Apologies for the inconvenience.
@@andertons The bots/scammers are getting pretty wild, can only hope they're held accountable at some point

Everyone hates scammers. In totally unrelated news it's good to see Rob back......
@@andertonsdo you sell any other speakers for £2? I'll take 10 xD
Sorry lads but these just aren't as good without the bit at the start running around the shop picking stuff.

Hasn't been good for a few years now
It's so great to see Rob back in the Anderton's video room. He disappeared for so long and I was sad. 😁
There were reasons for that bud.
Don't most mixer's/PAs also have reverb they can add in if you're using direct interface? Probably don't need the Heavenly then?
I'd have chosen the 4-knob Spark Booster. It's so versatile.
Strings and Speakers makes the sound, so forget about guitar brand, pick-ups, tone wood and all that ships. Tube amp.

The lion sleeps rent free in my head for the next 6 hours.
Honestly everything sounded like shit. Not sure if it's gear or playing.
The OG great to see him back for a bit !
The biggest compliment I can give that G&L is that for a few moments it sounded like Dan's red Tele.

The vibe between El Chappo and the Captain is just magical.

The hit in the uk was by Tight Fit back in the early 80s. Happy Days😊
Yes, the guy who sang it died. He got eaten by a crocodile! Apparently he couldn't wimaway fast enough 😅
The Captain meets John Mayer when

This Rob guy should be kept off from this channel. I think he’s bad rep for the Anderstons.

Remember when Chapman had dreadlocks and was wearing an ugly piece of cloth on his forehead? 😂 it was ridiculous asf
As someone who is from Kentucky like Chris Robertson. I can confirm that is exactly how people say life changing. LAFF-changing

Such a shame Anderson’s keeps showing this dude

The epiphone vs gibson will be very interesting this time... the epiphones are absolutely incredible right now. I have a Koa custom and it's nuts.

Well done!! Watching from Louisiana USA
It kind of sounds like the amp is in a room down the hall with the doors open. I'd prefer a presence knob on this "amp" pedal that would let me bring the sound a bit further forward
There's a "presence" knob on the pedal. When you flick the switch to ALT-Mode you can edit the amount of prescence by turning the Middle knob.
The Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens, released circa 1960s.
