Thank you so much for the vegetarian & vegan recipes of tamales!
So excited to try cooking Mexican food!
I used to go out for Mexican food but when I realized that lard can sneak into the dishes that seem vegan, I stopped eating Mexican food. Now I can make it myself ensuring that it is completely lard free.

Beautiful video, Rusbe! Excellent step by step instructions and cooking techniques. Great how you instruct the viewer how to cook the filling ingredients al dente as they will finish cooking during the steaming process. I’ve been making traditional tamales (using pork lard in my masa) for nearly 20 years. I was asked this year if I could make vegetarian tamales for a close family member. Your recipe is perfect. I’m looking forward to tasting them. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. I’m happily subscribing to your channel! 😊

We make so many tamales during the holidays to eat and give away to friends and family. Now YOU can too! You can make vegetarian or vegan fillings from any kind of vegetable you like! What kind of vegetables should we try adding next time??
Note: if you haven't access to masa quebrada, you can make your own masa using corn flour as described in this other video I made:

Hello! Thank you for watching. The sound of the coins clinking while the tamales cook lets us know that there is still water in the pot.
