A trip I use is if I do not have a lot of food production tiles, I leave a healthy amount of villagers around my main town hall, as the food put there cannot be lost to rats, and it is a good bandaid until you can find food. Another trick I use is to build the defensive tower as far from the enemy's border as possible, to maximize the distance he has to travel to get to it, then I sit outside of that tile and wait for them to overextend to the tower and then dog pile them before they can leave. A little cheesy, but it hey, it works.
@@BAPK1602 I’ve only played 2 days and that strategy was my immediate go-to, plus putting the towers in a 4-way corner, so my troops can get to the attack in time to save the tower. I’m sure there are many things I’m missing still, but I mentioned it that way to show you that it simply good use of terrain, travel time, range from enemies, etc. … it’s certainly not cheesy, give yourself more credit.😎 War is very pragmatic for those that master it, at least historically at the control-level we’re playing at (Art of War is a great study guide). Kudos on having a sound thinker, I like how you think. 😉
When fighting a strong unit like @ 21:58 , you may want to take the guy that is taking most of the damage and walk him around so the others get more hits in.
Stopped at 2:00 when you colonised your first tile for a house and woodcutter, while there was a tile right beside that one that had the big tree (bonus wood).
@@cyclonevan11 Apologies. Cannot see it in the video in all those trees. I am used to playing with the tile content overlay turned on, so enemies are very obvious. btw I highly recommend that overlay as it makes seeing at a glance what is going on in the game so much easier. (Press 'i')
Each clan has their own clan-specific relic that grants them unique bonuses that can only be used by their clan (even if the tile it is placed on is taken, it just stops working rather than working for the enemy). Orange (the wolf clan)'s relic spawns four ghostly wolves to fight for him. You can see the relic in the Blacksmith, and you can read what they do.
There are multiple ways to win Northguard, including (total domination, fame, lore, trade and map-specific win condition - e.g hold middle of map for 6 months or defeat a big monster in the middle etc etc). If you just start a default game or are playing multiplayer, these will all be enabled. However you can start a custom game and disable any of those conditions you prefer. For example, I play versus AI a lot and you basically need to disable the map-specific win condition because the AI is useless at preventing that one if the player goes for it. You also probably want to disable certain other win conditions when playing certain clans that can totally exploit some of them and that the AI cannot defend against, like Raven for example.
