David, as someone who is a full time caregiver, and for my mom, I would like to tell you that you will never know just how much of a Godsend these videos are. We love your witty VLOG ones. However, we've essentially been in lockdown for years, and hopefully we will be that way long after the rest of the world isn't. These peaceful videos let us imagine that we are out cruising the canals. Which is something we just can't do, even if there wasn't a virus. I know how long takes to upload a video of this length even with broadband. And I also know that you have to put up with comment after comment after comment about it not being one of your "regular" videos. So thank you for doing so, and for putting up with people who complain about something that they are getting FOR FREE! In the future if you would like to quote me in your responses to those people, please feel free to do so. Maybe then they will understand that these videos are important to those of us who have been in lockdown a lot longer than they have. Thomas French
Thank you. As I watched this (and read the comments) on a chilly Sunday morning in Australia I was thinking how lovely to know that your work brings joy to people in very diverse locations and circumstances. I imagine that knowing your vlogs and your “slow TV” are appreciated by people who are housebound and even those who are blind is rewarding for you.
The best experience I will have ... and so pleasing a time it is.....would do it if I could, but David takes the helm and delivers me, a route to mental health and stimulating travel, and a peaceful place to be, the world is still this way, and the reassurance is much appreciated. Thanks Mate.
I love this! It's like a meditation. When I've had a stressful day, this helps me to calm my mind and heart rate. No music or talking to distract from the peaceful surroundings. Thank you.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the real- time cruise shouldn't be seen as 'filler' or a stop-gap, but rather as something separate from the Vlog. It's got a charm all of its own, and is a lovely wee peek into Cut Life for those of us stuck on shore. I, for one, really enjoy it, and slightly miffed that I'll need to watch it in a couple of installments. Tip top David chum, and our thanks as always, beautiful wee video. 🏴👍
While I enjoy all of your videos, there are times where this is exactly what I want to see. Just a quiet ride down the canal. Love the scenery and the the wildlife. Thank you for taking the time and effort to bring these to us.
Fantastic - thank you ! -- enjoyed the entire video full BIG screen in HD -- a very lush location, peaceful and lovely ! -- I just sat back, relaxed and enjoyed ! Watching from: Riga Latvia EU
Thank you David. This was very relaxing. The scenery was beautiful. This gives us a more realistic picture of what being on a narrow boat is like. Thanks for all your videos.
Well now I've been here before but with the world as complex as it is and my work very stressful, I decided to take some time out, pack myself a flask of coffee, some cheese sandwiches 😂, cake & a couple of those cans of G&T 😊 and get myself on board for some rest and relaxation. It is like meditation as someone else has said. It's a perfectly soothing journey so thank you David for doing it and all your work in producing this. My deep thanks for this space and time of restoration. Your notavlogs should be on prescription! Just perfect and so beautiful 🙏
A delight. I watch these while having a meal. Sometimes a cheese sandwich, just to get into the groove. I have enough here for four meals. Wonderful. Thank you David.
Have watched this through twice. Absolutely wonderful! These Slow TV episodes demonstrate why people are drawn to the canal life, and for those of us on dry land, it is a restful salve to the unsettling craziness elsewhere. Utterly mesmerising.
Thank you for these videos. I love your videos and these act as white noise and my 7 month old falls asleep to the sound of the engine. Win win for daddy.
Well thats 1 hour 34 mins of my life that i will not get back again 😁 Once i have made a cup of coffee it will be time to rewatch it before bedtime 👍 This is the life 👍👍👍
Loving your Slow TV cruises! This one is awesome! Beautiful scenery with no distractions!! It seems like I am right there on the boat! The quiet, natural sounds are so nice! Great job!!! 👍
Nice to see you are alright and appear to be fairing well, I enjoy these videos I'm mostly house bound only leaving for my treatments so every bit of time spent with you on the narrow boat is a blessing, God bless you from Tennessee
Another winner video David, a real pleasurable experience peaceful and tranquil, as you get older there's not to much to look forward to but your Slow-tv fits the bill, knocks the tv into a cocked hat with all their constant repeats.👍
I'm neither English nor do I live in England. I did live in England for a few years as a student and lived very close to a canal and never ever thought of hiring a canal long boat (was much younger then and had other interests 😉 and below the age where I could hire) I now have a family and cannot wait to visit England and take the family on a long boat holiday next summer after this God awful pandemic has passed. Thanks for inspiring me. Love the vlogs and stay safe!
Very relaxing, I have really enjoyed immersing myself into this journey. I am going to send it to a friend who is blind (via his wife) I feel sure he will enjoy listening to this. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for my favorite relaxtime! Love the gorgeous scenery and the Natural sounds. In such a stressful time this is a true blessing for me.
Thank you David. Here in Australia we have "Slow TV", the last one was a trip from Adelaide to Darwin some 4,000 kilometers all from the perspective of the front of the train ......... most interesting. Your latest "vlog" reminds me of the TV slow only with lots more water and green pastures. Cheers, Garry
Thanks, David! Watched it, again, as I washed dishes. In those moments when I was unable to look at the screen, the birdsong and sounds of water was enough. My moment of Zen. Thanks again, Alex
I find these really relaxing to watch. People actually hate this? Geez. They need to chill. Not that i don't enjoy your vlogs too. This is just different. Even my cat is sitting on my lap watching.
I've found these notavlogs quite peaceful and calming. They make excellent background noise to fall asleep to, with that little diesel working away and the canal sounds
Al thought I didn't expect to watch for more than a minute ended up watching almost all of it, with some skips. We live very different lives, but seeing you boat and how peaceful it is makes me watch this. The long green stretches are my favorite part, it's like biking through a park and just enjoying nature for a bit without all the car noises.
Oh baby Jesus, that's what I'm talking about! NATURE AT IT' FINEST! Thank you, David... Felt like I was on holiday. =) Enjoyed this episode with stereo headphones on !!!
But, these are the best! People seem many times not understand what is nature and silence, I think the only one I remember talking about things like that was Oliver Sacks... He sure was a friend of music but realised to place a question when there is too much of it? Actually now I remember one distant acquaintance for long time ago once telling me that silence is one of our most underrated nature values... Only then I (faintly) realised it just might be so! Not knowing is important, I just was (an hour ago) in the Sauna and sat on our terrace and my mind was completely empty, enjoyed the moment!
Like the concept of with and without voice soundtrack versions of the VLOGS. Nothing more relaxing than watching the natural versions if you're wanting to chill out although the 'chit chat' versions are always first to watch. Great job.
Thank you David for a perfect end to my evening. So relaxing I believe I will retire now and have pleasant dreams of birds singing, water lapping at the hull and lovely scenery floating by. Take care and have a good evening yourself.
Its just lovely relaxing in the bow, watching the wildlife, listening to the engine purr, and drinking a pitcher of Pimms, thanks for letting us tag along.
I'm sitting here with a cup of tea and the rain is falling outside my window. Watching this video with the smell of moisture in the air puts me right there on the boat with you. I imagine that sensation is shared 141,000 times. Thank you for this David.
Just marvelous - love these - I can immerse myself in a love of sound and vision of our canals - thank you so much for sharing this with us please stay safe and well sending regards 👏👏❤️😁xxx
Oh I enjoyed this tremendously. Being able to travel and do what you do from my living room is quite the treat. Quite. And it's free. Very nice indeed. Beautiful and peaceful.
Always appreciate these videos. So calming. Unfortunately our local waterways are constantly bombarded with jet skis and speed boats there goes the serenity.
I could weep....I am on my boat as midnight arrives, on the Puget Sound, waiting for dinner to be ready, as my rigging moans and hums with unexpected winds in the peak of summer, as the utter tranquility of of your voyage gently unveils....
This makes me imaging you, like D Attenborough, sitting on a branch high up in the jungle we pass, telling us all about the animals we can't see. I love it!
very relaxing. We enjoyed watching 3 seasons of cruising the cut on Amazon Prime before we discovered your RUclips channel. We enjoy watching this video to relax. Its great for winding down before bed. We also enjoy watching other new videos you have. We are Americans and had never heard of narrowboats before. The closest canal to us is the Chesapeake and Ohio which has fallen in disuse but sections are restored. I am pretty sure they don't allow individuals boating, but after the pandemic we plan to visit a restored section which offers special boat ride that goes through some locks. This video is great because we can enjoy the ride without all the work! Thank you
Massive dose of mesmerizing tranquility... that is so therapeutic for mind, body and soul. Super use of miles of front camera footage to upload when needed. Say "hey" to LJT. Cheers from Richmond, Virginia USA where this evening's temp is 89F
Thanks David it's always a pleasure to watch your video content that you put out for all of us, just got three more Canadians to watch your videos and now they're hooked and sinker😎😁👍👍🇨🇦
I’m watching this while I’m stuck on hold with the Employment Department. Thanks for helping me stay sane while trapped in bureaucratic voice menu purgatory.
Thank you so much for this absolutely lovely trip. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting here cross stitching away with my cup of tea and biscuits. Miz Lily, the cat, searched all over for those singing birdies and then settled down for a well earned nap with ear twitches for all that bird song. Bliss! Thanks again😃
Thanks very much for sharing this! In NZ on a chilly Sunday morning ensconced on my big comfy sofa drinking my hot coffee watching your real time cruise on the canal. Thank you its very relaxing!!🙏🏻. Love the bird song!! I am recovering from bad bout of the flu'. Needed this video to relax.
i love your vlogs but this 'not a vlog' is just Brilliant!! i've bookmarked it to enjoy many more times, along with a pipeful of my favorite green herb. thank you!! big hug.
What a beautiful relaxing journey, I especially love the bit at 59:43, where you sail through one of my favourite trees, a Weeping Willow, Thank you so much.

David, your videos are a real public service for those who can't experience canal life... or who can't even get out at all these days.
The best experience I will have ... and so pleasing a time it is.....would do it if I could, but David takes the helm and delivers me, a route to mental health and stimulating travel, and a peaceful place to be, the world is still this way, and the reassurance is much appreciated. Thanks Mate.

Hypnotic. Thank you. It is a delight not to have to mute dire copyright free music, so nice to hear life as you do.
YES! a new video and liked before it started, thank you David.
Just what the doctor ordered. I’m so glad that you take the time and effort to periodically post these up, thank you!

And this is why I want a Narrow Boat. Beautifully done dear chap.
Yes! It's so peaceful. Exactly what we need in the world right now. Thank you!
Fantastic - thank you ! -- enjoyed the entire video full BIG screen in HD -- a very lush location, peaceful and lovely ! -- I just sat back, relaxed and enjoyed !

As if you sensed I was really hoping for a long one.
Amazing.
Thanks David, it's the perfect Saturday morning for a longer video.
Thank you David. This was very relaxing. The scenery was beautiful. This gives us a more realistic picture of what being on a narrow boat is like. Thanks for all your videos.

This is great to fall asleep. The uniform engine sounds and some birds singing. Very peaceful.
Nice to see you are alright and appear to be fairing well, I enjoy these videos I'm mostly house bound only leaving for my treatments so every bit of time spent with you on the narrow boat is a blessing, God bless you from Tennessee
Cheers Bobby, I’m very pleased to hear they give you a bit of escapism.
Zen and the art of appreciating life.

Good! I was quite pleased with the audio in this one.
Slow Television. Yay! Becoming quite the thing here in Australia. Very calming. Well done! 😎
Thank you so much for my favorite relaxtime! Love the gorgeous scenery and the Natural sounds. In such a stressful time this is a true blessing for me.
Utter hypnotic bliss. This must be the ultimate screensaver. You could just let it loop on your monitor or even TV screen!
👍!
So relaxing to watch. Clears the mind. This is so much better and cheaper than paying a therapist. Thank you for doing this.
Thank you David. Thank you for one of your best video's, that long stretch of cool serenity. The weeping willow you went under was beautiful.
These are soo relaxing and calming! Interesting too - I project it onto my wall! Who could possibly hate these wonderful videos??
A lot of folk just don’t “get” this format!
That was heaven. I lost myself in the tranquility and shut out the madness for a while. Thank you David.
Thanks, David! Watched it, again, as I washed dishes. In those moments when I was unable to look at the screen, the birdsong and sounds of water was enough. My moment of Zen. Thanks again, Alex

David, Thank you for this fantastic video! So peaceful!!
That is so relaxing, the mike really picks up the sounds. Love the wood pigeons
Hello from Australia!! It's 1am... and I am enjoying this vid.. Thanks!! :-)
I bet there are many of us out here that like your silent films as well as your "talkies". D.W. Griffith of the cut!
Oh baby Jesus, that's what I'm talking about! NATURE AT IT' FINEST! Thank you, David... Felt like I was on holiday. =) Enjoyed this episode with stereo headphones on !!!
Ahhh...Slow is so much better than stop! And now that I am retired I will enjoy it with a 2nd scotch. Cheers🍻

Tranquil, beautiful and SO enjoyable. Well done, you.
I love these "native nature sound" Videos!
Its just lovely relaxing in the bow, watching the wildlife, listening to the engine purr, and drinking a pitcher of Pimms, thanks for letting us tag along.
These slow tv vlogs always cool me off after being outside in 43 degree heat. Keep em coming! Love from Arizona
Loved that, the sound pickup on the bow camera is amazing.
Absolutely wonderful , next best thing to being on the canals, thank you
I'm sitting here with a cup of tea and the rain is falling outside my window. Watching this video with the smell of moisture in the air puts me right there on the boat with you. I imagine that sensation is shared 141,000 times. Thank you for this David.
Thanks, after a busy week, it did take 5 or so minutes to relax and enjoy your video, strangely satisfying.
Just marvelous - love these - I can immerse myself in a love of sound and vision of our canals - thank you so much for sharing this with us please stay safe and well sending regards 👏👏❤️😁xxx

Thanks for sharing this. It´s like being on board, relaxing, calming down... Beautiful!
Loved watching this, thank you
Very peaceful indeed, Captain.
Beautiful scenery and so peaceful. I loved the birds singing. Thank you for posting these!
As I love cruising my ocean boat, watching the islands and waves go by, so do I like this kind of video. Thank you.
Another of your beautiful and peaceful videos. Thanks for posting.
I like the idea of having a narrowboat but I'm sure I'd fall asleep at the wheel and end up God knows where.
You'd wake up soon enough when you hit something!! 🤣
`Your video helped make this a perfect Saturday morning. Thank you!
Oh I enjoyed this tremendously. Being able to travel and do what you do from my living room is quite the treat. Quite. And it's free. Very nice indeed. Beautiful and peaceful.

I really love these not-a-vlogs. Very ASMR! Thanks for posting them. I finally have a reason to upgrade to a large 4K TV. 😁
Wow! What a way to relax this afternoon, amazing. Thank you ❤️
This makes me imaging you, like D Attenborough, sitting on a branch high up in the jungle we pass, telling us all about the animals we can't see. I love it!

It's vids like this that lull me to sleep...just the way I like it.
Oh wow! You took the words right out of my mouth.
Watching this and it is easy to understand why you, and so many others, do this. Thanks for these slow videos.

Absolutely sublime
Trolls under bridges makes much more sense to me now! Thanks again as always Mr. Johns, love your uploads
