I’ll never forget the iconic G1 episode where Detritus and Exhaust had the lovers to enemies break-up-into-duel-to-the-deactivation. Too bad Philip Morris banned the episode from being released on DVD.

I loved when Detritus defeated Cyclonus and Punch/Counterpunch simultaneously in the eighties cartoon by turning them into dust with his Hounding cannon, truly an incredible moment
I'm glad this classic character is finally being given the love he deserves after being unceremoniously killed off in the opening frame of the Transformers movie and seemingly forgotten thereafter.
This is obviously going to be re-coloured into Botcon Turbomaster.
Detritus was such a huge part of my childhood, the OG G1 GG EZ cartoon wouldn't have been the same without him threatening to crush someone's skull between his pistacchio colored thighs at the end of each episode.
that is such an objectively core memory for a generation, let's be real and honest
Agreed about the faction symbol, if only some clever company offered such symbols as high quality stickers that could be purchased, perhaps even with a discount code? Alas, there is no such company...
Personally, I was pleasantly surprised when Detritus showed up in the Transformers x Getter Robo crossover manga, when he, Clampdown, and King Atlas arrived as reinforcements against the Invader-powered Starscream so that Ryoma and the gang could get into Shin Getter Dragon. Really happy this classic character's getting the recognition he deserves.
Personally, I'd have liked it a little more if Detritus made use of the older Siege tooling instead of this new one - the additional greebles and cybertronian details would've fit better with the Junkion aesthetic IMO, and it'd help to differentiate the toy more from... uh, from nobody I guess.
I was waiting for them to reuse the scheme of Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Deluxe-class Generations-Selects Cybertonian Defense Hot Shot, and it made me SO HAPPY that they reused it on a beloved, fan-favorite character like Detritus. Great move on Hasbro's part.
So I'm curious, who do you think is the most likely candidate for a repaint of this mold? I feel like the obvious move is to paint it orange and release it as Alternators Rollbar, but I think there's an outside chance Hasbro may go a completely different direction and paint it green for a release as G1 Rollbar.
green would be a deep and niche cut, but... hmm

Oh this is quite the extensive retool of the classic Siege Deluxe Generations Selects Cybertron Defense Hotshot. Though retools can be exhausting, it makes perfect sense. Siege Deluxe Generations Selects Cybertron Defense Hotshot was SUCH an iconic and popular figure back in the day. It was only a matter of time before we saw this mold again and they didn't disappoint with a much more grounded Earth vehicle look.

I will probably be the only one unironically messaging my favourite Detritus appearance but he features quite prominently in the second of the alligned continuity novels. Taking an almost Sideways like roll and playing both angles, i always found him quite compelling! It was many years later i found out he was originally a g1 hound repaint! And now they've continued the trend by making him a repaint of the war for cybertron siege, deluxe generations selects cybertron defence force hotshot.
despite being such an unique design you know they will find a way to repaint it into another random character at some point

Ive always been an Detritus enjoyer by heart and i think everyone should love this badass character.
My favorite G1 moment was (Spoilers!) when he and Devcon dueled to the death over the digestive pits of Unicron during the movie. Him reaching down to grab Devecons hand only to have it cut off as devcon sank into the acid was an horrifying scene, especially knowing how they were best friends at one point. it was lucky he had his boyfriend exhaust to comfort him and keep on going.
its too bad we don't really see him in modern media, i really think they could do a lot with him.
the real question here is, as a Junkion, where does Detritus fit in to the various Junkion katamari-style combiner-kaijus?
I liked the running joke in this one about ravage and how he got into the autobot base that one time.
The fact that they used this mold for Detritus first, despite it being the SS86 Hound mold is hilarious. I feel like we may never get that figure, especially considering it's been like a year now since it was announced
Both Earth Hound and Hatchet were listed as Buzzworthy Bumblebee exclusives never were actually announced. Odds are they were cancelled because BB original figures tend self warm, and just waiting for a spot to put them in.

2:32 fun fact: according to some early drafts, he actually used that melee weapon to bonk Swerve into the ground before rewrites and it was charged to Trypticon.
That was just an animation error. There were many in FFOD. You can see that Trypticon’s foot was clearly a miscolored weapon held by Detritus if you slow down the frames on an old VHS copy. Sadly only Blueray copies remain today so it’s impossible to see.
Not gonna lie, I was hoping for a return of universe hound bringing home decepticons by mistake.
I'll die on the hill that Detititriticus would've been absolutely killer with the old siege mold. You know, alien jeep for an alien merc/arms dealer/peach cream colored fella. A shame but it is what it is.

I remember when the listings leaked and everyone assumed it was just going to be a Siege Repaint and not Earth Hound.

Such a shame that Detritus is the first time any version of it has come to mass retail and not been an exclusive of some kind.

FINALLY! Most of the time it's been quiet. BUT THEN came Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Deluxe Class Selects Cybertronian Defense Hot Shot. Outright reeking with the air of obvious pretool, and everyone got all hot and bothered of the impending Detritus. What did they do with that mold? An Orion Pax and some loreless green rando you forgot existed.
I've missed these reviews. Always a fun time.

Spectacular form on display in this one. I was really expecting a hint at the skin tone colouration but you DEFIED my expectations
IMO, Detritus should had accessories from WFC Siege Selects Hot Shot which would had been callback to og Detritus toy.
Don't forget his pivotal role in the classic 2011 Alex Irvine novel, Transformers: Exiles.

My favorite Detritus moment was when Detritus yelled "It's Detritusing time!" and then Detritused all over Siege Deluxe Generations Selects Cybertron Defense Hotshot.
I agree with your view of Detritus as being like "comfort food". He's a nobody. His sculpt is just color-swapped Hound. However I can't help but love his simple colors, intuitive transformation, and general blasé experience compared to big-name TFs. Definitely my favorite of my pick-ups from the wave.
Detritus is not a character I care about at all, with that said, I bought this figure for my kids and gave it to them after we went through season 1 and 2 and the movie . When I gave it to the kids I told them it was undercover Hound, who was on a mission from Rodimus Prime and Wreckgar to find the spy within the ranks of the Junkions. He took the name Detritus during this time. This made the kids fall in love with the Hound character again after playing with him for like 2 years. Then a few weeks ago I ordered this set from Toyhax. I applied the labels to it while they were sleeping and when they woke up this morning, I told them Rodimus had a new mission for Hound. One that would take him to a desert planet and so it would require a desert camo paint job. AND...................they fell in love with Hound again been playing all day LOL. They have been playing with the old Classics Hound ( still a great Hound toy ) for their cartoon green colored hound but in a day or two I will be getting the 5 pack from Hasbro pulse in, the pack that has the new green toy of Hound that this Detritus mold ( the original intent of this mold ) . And I look forward to giving it to them when they they get done with the current desert hound missions ! Anyways this is a great set that made him all new to them again .

I think the issue is because the mold is the siege shot-hound engineering it feels Pretty dated when compared to the Rest of the legacy lineup this mold really should have come out during Earthrise because it would have fit right in.

I don't understand the hate for the Datreetoos figure. I love the color scheme and the mold, even if it is considered "outdated" by today's standards.
