I love hearing the hype about Cities 2 before it released. It's just another reminder to never fall for the hype and preorder games. Wait for them to release and go on sale for a time or two before purchasing and you'll get more games for the dollar.
Factorio take my money, do it now!
Meh.... outdated, ugly.
Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic is a great game. I haven't played it in more than a year just because of being very distracted, but I very much look forward to checking it out again. It was already a lot of fun more than a year ago. You get the challenge of trying to make your republic completely self-sufficient or go for some big export to pay for importing needed goods. You also get to export both to other Soviet republics or to Western Europe and trade for different products.
Workers & Resources has an incredibly active modding scene, too! The devs are incredibly supportive of modders and actually paid some of them to work on official game assets!
No doubt in my mind, Factorio.. I have spent way to many hours with that game. And again, I bought Workers and Ressources quite a while back, but still haven't played it, but it still looks good.
Really looking forward to all the upcoming B-17 games...heck, we've waited long enough
Thanks, I've added ground of aces and mars horizon 2 to my wishlist, cities was on there allready and WRSR has been a real time-eater allready. Great list!
B-17 is a modern version of Microprose's similarly-named game of the late 1980's.
The best transport game of any year is Comrade Potato's Workers and Resources.
All workers must transport themselves to the jobs that Comrade-Dictator Potato orders and deliver all resouces so that all profits will be hauled to his bank accounts.
The ideal transport game.
But have they fixed the awful road laying mechanic yet? Haven't watched any play of this for many months now, but I resisted buying just because of the trouble with road laying/terrain manipulation...
man there is no way you included cities skylines and not transport fever 2 in the transport management category
Maybe that's because transport fever 2 isn't an up and coming game, it's been out for 4 years..
I play the original Mars Horizon exclusively on my Deck and love it. Can't wait for the second!
Oh. That looks epic. I didn't expect factorio to pull me in again
I'm yet to see someone actually create a decent airport building game
I'd take a wild stab and guess you also have strong memories of Airport Tycoon :D
I actually enjoyed Airport CEO until my CPU wasn't big enough to handle the crowds.
@@schajee Ye add on to this. Airport CEO is great until you have a lot going on and you have so many PAX
Airport CEO is very very decent, I absolutely recommend it
Im so excited for Mars Horizon 2!!
Foxhole modded Minecraft and factorio are by far the best logistics themed games squad also has a pretty decent logistics system
Thank you! very interesting games.
Station to Station - it's going to be the best game.
Also, I'm waiting for Train Yard Builder, which is not on the list :(
do you read the descriptions directly from the games' pages? I wish you presented your view of the games
i want another type of industry giant 3.
and mix it with another game where you can buy the factory for steep price. (monopoly the AI or less cost on long term)
for me transport become secondary things so transport tycoon or similar is not that enticing.
*Me watches this video and starts drooling* *My steam wish list* "Don't you dare do it!! Not more!
Thanks for the video. Sadly, my list of games I want to play is very long already.
lovely video 💙🌼
Damn, Imagine combinening Airborn Empire with BioShock Infinite + the Tech "Demo" of it ... a man can dream.
Ive 100% station to station and have been playing railgrade i really like both of them. Im looking forward to railroad corp 2, voxel tycoon , and train valley world im just waiting for full release on games i have enough to play to not do early access
7:45 Reminds me of that old game “B17: The Mighty Eighth”
city skylines 2 is my top 1 in the list, following by falling frontier, then railroad corporation 2, next capital command, lastly star trucker
wow, as if my wishlist wasn't long enough 😅
great video
You missed Transport Fever 2!
That game was out for years.
Good infovideo. You missed Mashinky, or Astrotrucks.
There's a game coming on Steam at some point which I'm really excited about called "The Airline Project" in which, surprise surprise, you build your own airline. But unlike other airline games, you have the option to start in 1920 which, as a historic aircraft nerd, has me salivating.
Yeah I did a bunch of research for this one, and I hate to break it to you, but I think The Airline Project is dead :(
@@orbitalpotato Oh no. The whole concept of the game, one where you can start off with a couple of biplanes (DH.4s perhaps) flying off grass strips and gradually working your way up to the modern age, is one that I have dreamed of for years. I have tried concepts of it using spreadsheets, an atlas and a little imagination but to actually have a proper game was something I was so looking forward to. Anyway, thanks for doing the research.
By the way, I just checked their website and the last entry in their blog was a year ago. So sad.
Workers & Resources already is a goddamn masterpice ... I have more hours in it than in Factorio
Transport fever 2 in question:
maybe you can add Mashinky.
Think i’ll be giving mini settlers a go then move to Factorio
Cool name, Potato.
Looking forward to:
That train rts.
Ground of Aces.
Can't wait for Art of the Rail - check it out..
voxel tycoon has changed quite a lot since nov 2020 i played it last time
Railgrade seems to be more a puzzle game than actually a transportation game. Of course puzzles are being solved by organising transport, but it doesnt seem to be close to "real" transportation games.
You're right. The game is very well made and a lot of fun to play. However it ends up feeling a bit repetitive as the player is constantly starting from scratch with a new problem to solve, that is most often just a variation on a recurring theme. I'd still recommend it.
I just can't with these train games that have trains going up insanely steep grades.
ALL THE TRAIN GAMES!!!!!!!
Derail Valley was recent updated and would fit on this list.
simulator update is a huge addition indeed
How have I not heard of Capitol Command, that looks very interesting indeed....
Its been on my steam list since 2022
Train Valley? Is that the same as "Chris Sawyers Locomotion"
Falling frontier is on my list the new game the last train home im very excited
how can you not include Transportation fever 2. literaly the top G among transportation games
That was already released in 2019
@@daviddanser8011 other games in heee were released in other years too 😂
@@Queracus ‘upcoming transport and management games’ 2023-2024, maybe those are beta ? Which ones are already released from the list ?
@@daviddanser8011 Workers and Recources actually :D But its in early access sooo
3:19 the green should already be red
I can't believe you didn't add railway empire 2
But what about "Trainz". Not sure if it has been upgrade recently though. Haven't played it in awhile, but surly it is better than anything here. (Although Factorio does rule.)
Why does the concept of Beyond these Stars sound a LOT like Terry Prichards Discworld???
I always play the best city builder games, like Call of Duty and Need for Speed.
Railroad corporation reminds me of tf and tf 2
honeslty im installing voxel tycoon it look fun as hell
It’s great!
I'm missing Sweet Transit!!!😢.
THE CRUST coming out q1 2024
I miss Railroaders and Century of Steam
Video tycoon isn't bringing out updates often!!! I used to play the game lots but there is a very necessary update they need to bring out but don't. Last update was just decorative
Art of the Rail, by Rocketwerks 🙄
great video! But the games look a little lack luster......
no frostpunk 2?
We need Railroad Tycoon 4.
Where is Mashinky?
Still not a single game where you have to place rail signals like block signals, stop signals and such like you had to do (for efficient and complex routes) in Simutrans. That was my most favourite feature. I just can't take the graphics anymore and some other limitations.
If anyone knows a more modern transport game where you have to utilise various signals for trains or a mod for any game that adds that functionality kindly let me know 😊
Try open ttg it has very complex train infrastructure building including signals
@@jackatlas9 that's the same super old game. I don't play just for graphics but I don't like isometric games and a lot of functionality of modern transport games is missing. Also I prefer simutrans over open tt
transporation fever 2
@@Queracus Transport fever 2? No. I have that. It has just the most basic signals (2 or 3 types I think in different variations/styles) . I already asked one of the devs and some Modders. There are no plans from the Devs to extend it and the Modder can't do anything due to too many things being hard coded.
@@Duke49thHave you tried Sweet Transit? It may scratch that itch for you
The CS2 segment aged like milk.
Is this early access or DLC??
but,
The best logistics games are OTTD (Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe) and Transport Fever 1 and 2.
이것은 얼리엑세스 기준과 DLC기준입니까??
하지만,
물류 게임 최고는 OTTD (Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe), Transport Fever 1, 2 가 최고입니다.
falling frontier!
I don't see OpenTTD
Still no decent railway management games like railroad tycoon 3 😢
Capital Command looks rather like Homeworld - is it me?
looking forward to Homeworld 3 2024
Factorio DLC as the best when there's a mod that does everything the DLC plans to do and better?
No.
the mod owner i think work on the DLC
I hope there's more to it than what it seems
Not everyone wants to use mods.
Mods are a gift not a right.
That’s not the same. Author of the mod is a Factorio developer and he explained it well that the mod and the expansion are two different things
Watch Art of the Rail
👍
I hope City Skylines offers an ability to drive a car yourself through your city - like in Sim City (4 or 5 I think) back in the days
mini settler definitely stolen the idea from another logi sim game just cant remember it's name. played it a few month ago...
So. We're in late 2023 and 3/4 of the games incoming are voxel, 8bit and low poly style... *feels bad*
No cs comment? weird
Only 5 games deserve attention, others are trash.
Hate this type of video..
Everytime I get my steam wish list shortened. One of these videos comes along and makes me add a bunch of new games.
The Falling Frontier dev has now said.
2025 release date
CS2 was a shitshow wasn’t it
My god this RUclipsr thinks every single game ever made is fantastic and brilliant and can't wait to play them all and yet most of these look like s***
cities skyline 2 is a disaster
Kids play..
In sad fact, no more real tycoons will be made after ttd and simcity. Only new graphic and new features, for ex drive on transport/trough city. Idea unable to be changed. Everything already was made.
Same with fps, RPG , simulators, strategies... DOS/preDOS-generation already played in everything 😢
ruzzians games? really?
It's 2023.
I see most transport games with 2010 mobile phone graphics.
Wtf.
Seriously devs, wtf ?
These games are so niche that no big studio will work on them. So you get a handful of passionate devs that love the genre and want to make a new game, but by being small they also lack the funds necessary for shiny new graphics. One would argue that in the genre, graphics come second, though. I much rather play an ugly game - and I do, I still play TT Deluxe from 30 years ago - as long as the mechanics are good.
@@Andrei5656
Sure, we can still play 30 year old games.
That is not the question I was asking.
Also, just because YOU don't mind, doesn't mean I, and MANY others don't mind.
While graphics are not the be-end-all of this genre, apologizing for lazy devs, or cartoonish graphics on EVERY DAMN GAME, when its, I repeat, 2023, isn't doing anyone any favors. There should be options for different consumers.
You just want to play 30 year old games? Cool.
You don't mind 10 year old mobile graphics ? Cool for you.
Let the rest of people have an opinion.
@@MiguelBaptista1981 I literally said "I" in my statement. I said "I prefer" not that people should prefer. I also explained why graphics seem like a downgrade in the past decade. Because we used to have games made by studios only, that could afford a visuals team. But now making games is more accessible to indie devs, so we have more games in more niche genres (genres where established studios do not venture), but in exchange we get 90s looking visuals because that's what indie devs can make themselves. Sometimes it's also just a style choice, not limited by technology or money. Games like Signalis, À short walk, Boltgun or Prodeus.
I feel like games are getting uglier every year. With the exception of 2-3, the rest are simply terrible
I agree and I was just going to write the same comment. It feels as if we're going backwards in technology. I don't know how people can enjoy these ugly graphics. There's a difference between quirky artistic choice and just plain old horrible 3d modelling.
Factory games asking for copy and paste: crap
Factory games asking for clever and complex solutions with limited resources: good
Factorio looks fun at first but once you got bots and just slap down 1000 more machines in a second its just CTRL C CTRL V the game and super boring.
You know, I agree with this sentiment, I think I'm one of the few people that thinks factorio got worse when they added blueprint sharing/ people went on minmaxing builds online. Maybe it's just me, it's still a great game but it does sometimes feel like a copy past sim
@@orbitalpotato try Nova Lands
Super chill
Limited space
Some mystery
Small bosses
Just got expanded too
Also the end is hilarious
@@orbitalpotato You don't have to use other peoples Blueprints. Also use them only for the smaller annoying stuff. Blueprints in Factorio are better than any game released in the last several years.
this should be called the best garbage games of 2023 and 2024 lmao
