Hopefully it goes further than Secret Government, which was a similar grand strategy thing that kinda died out after being a fairly expensive purchase as far as indie games go.
The word "Reus" is Dutch for "giant". The /eu/-sound is generally difficult to explain to people who speak English, because there isn't a direct equivalent. However, the closest to it, imo, is the sound of "ir" in "to stir" or "bird", without the rhotic end. Alternatively, if you know a bit of German or a Scandinavian language, the sound is very similar to /ö/. Source: I'm a Dutch linguist.
a good one im looking forward to is vampire clans. i think its by the same makers of pirate commander, but this one seems to have a more likely release soon. you build a vampire clan empire and take over the city etc.
Mostly looking forward to Reus 2. Hope it is easier to get into than the first one. Tried to reboot that one and realized I have no idea what to do anymore 😀
Say rear but with a pout. That's how you pronounce Reus, which means giant as others have already pointed out. I don't think there's a similar vowel sound in the average English language.
hi, may i enquire how certain "supermarket manager" will be released? because the devs already ghosted their steam page for an eternity. someone brought your recent promoting to attention in steam discussion, so it brings a glimmer of hope, if ever so slightly? perhaps some insider news we do not know? however, the very bad experience from empty promises already broken trust in the dev and publisher who are responsible.
The one comment I have is, how is Manor Lords not in this list? It looks better than all of these put together (clearly an exaggeration). Espiocracy does look good!
I don't understand why but a whole lot of these games have that cartoonish cutesy look which conflicts with the complex nature of the management games. I think this also affects their marketability badly since the target audience for the cartoon look aren't really into management genre.
The main issue is budget. Realistic visuals are harder to make look good and don't always have a great return on investment compared to simple, clean art styles.
Unfortunately, Overboss is made by goblinz so I gotta pass on it. They had my friend part of a streaming promotion for one of their games and at the last minute removed them from it with no communication. Always took that as them not wanting us to play their games so I'm sticking with that. Hollywood Animal seems quite similar to Showrunner and I hope we get even more games like this, it looks good. Infection Free Zone reminds me in very good ways of the Rebuild series and you can't go wrong with that. Excited for it. Gladiators Manager is the exact type of game I keep getting sucked into and ending up barely playing, can't wait to see if this gladiator game breaks my "curse" Kaiju Commander has a fun premise but holy crap that UI looks awful. I hope they touch up on that. Songs of Silence might be just the thing after Hero's Hour which I spent a lot of time in. I love that game to bits.
Supermarket manager looks interesting. Microcivilisation from the bonus section looks interesting too. The war games and battle games are not for me. Especially not the one where you can play as the Nazis in WW2. Like why would anyone even make that? I mean I know that the other countries didn’t actually think the holocaust was bad at the time and turned a blind eye to it. But at least they didn’t actually do one in the area of where the game takes place. So to make a game where players play as a Nazi is just a big yikes from me.
9:24 - It's pronounced "Reus." You're welcome.
As a Dutchman, I agree. Reus. (Giant)
I especially look forward to Espiocracy, it has very much potential.
Hopefully it goes further than Secret Government, which was a similar grand strategy thing that kinda died out after being a fairly expensive purchase as far as indie games go.

The Crust looks promising from what I've seen of it. Moon base management with a surface and underground layer.
I miss the days when we have drug dealer management games

Infection free, Seaorama, and supermarket. Sold.
Overboss is based on a series of board games that have had some pretty successful crowdfunding. Should be good.
Agree! very excited
SeaOrama: World of Shipping was free on Twitch
Reus getting a sequel after… HOW LONG? was not expecting that.
mind over magic looks like it is a good addition to the don't starve franchice, looks a little less brutal!!
KGB simulator and the Hollywood simulator look really interesting. It's a pity they are so far away
Seaorama is listed as release on 14th December 2023
Can't wait for Norland..
Car manufacturer has been in development for years it seems like it.

I want to play all of these :O 2024 is gonna be amazin
I can't wait either!
9:24 the devs call it like the female starwars character "rey" and the word "is" so its like "reyis" or "reyus" its from abbey games (netherlands)
The one comment I have is, how is Manor Lords not in this list? It looks better than all of these put together (clearly an exaggeration). Espiocracy does look good!
Just watched your city builder video and it's on there so i half retract my comment.... it should still be in this one 😆

I know that reus in dutch means giant, but how to pronounch it in english I do not know
Badlands crew still aint out
Espiocracy
How and why did Football Manager 2024 not make it on the list???
Because it's already out and it's more a simulation than that type of management imo
^this, + I will say ( as I did at the start) management is a hard class of game to pin down.
Do I hear a south west Scottish tone?
I think Reus is Ray-us
ree-us is how i pronounce it but i doubt that is how it's really pronounced.
Ground of aces
All game work Android
none of these look any good
