Very disappointed with what the devs did with the graphics: - everything looks incredibly cartoonish / vector graphics style and this is foremost a very conscious design choice if we look at the icons style - trees look like cardboard cutouts - roads again look like vector graphics with uncanny road markings and one of the worst ever decisions to generate that worn out asphalt white part, it looks really, really bad, especially at intersections - ground textures look awful and oversaturated - shoreline has a stepped delimitation to it which looks awful - water looks even worse than CS1
@@light_splitter It's way less cartoonish then vanilla CS1. Do you even remember how that looked like? 2nd version at least has shapes that make sense, its much much better in that regard. I think because the textures on buildings/roads/ground seem like they are generative that probably means we will be able to adjust them very easily through mods. I assume there is like one folder with all the textures for stock buildings/roads/terrain. CS2 is supposed to be easier to mod too, so I wouldn't be super concerned about this. I agree, the low density housing should have more scaffolding than cranes, especially seeing as if it's under a certain height there's really no need for cranes. I’ve watched a lot of CS2 content today. This is easily my favorite build so far and it’s not really close. You’ve done the best in my opinion of naturally catching that American town/small city vibe and I loved the way you gently mixed in density to make for natural transitions in targeted places around town. I also loved what you did with the industrial areas, giving the generic industry a measure of attention whereas in a lot of the other content creators I’ve seen today their generic industry areas were more of an afterthought or not given much thought imo. Well done. Loved how you spent your development points as well; the tram introduction early on really makes this town pop with character. Looking forward to the next episode bro as you expand; you’ve got a great foundation so far.
Thank you for the incredible comment man, very glad that you enjoyed it. And I can't wait to build and expand on this foundation and sharing it with you all!
Idk if I'm just paying more attention to your video compared to others but I feel like you displayed the new features better than the other content creators. You also made probably the most aesthetically pleasing city too!

This. Thanks for showing off the tools. Thats what I and Im sure others want to see. How all this behaves in the new game. I've subbed your channel to keep watching the next videos. Thanks for the best gameplay CS2 video so far
i honestly really hate how CS manages steep terrain, i just always thought it looked like shit and i try to avoid it as much as possible. now we don't have to rip out all of the roads and THEN change the terrain, just to put the roads back down? brilliant.
The public transportation looks so customisable. I never played CS1, but this makes me want to play CS2 so much to build lines and new cities mainly dependant of subways, trains connecting different part of cities when it becomes big. Connecting lines and creating train station, I love that so much
The one thing I'm currently not pleased with is the inability to place our extensions on service buildings so they are *not* directly connected to the main building. Additionally, it appears that there aren't any paths available that match the color and pavement texture of the service building. I'm hopeful that these features will be added later down the line or perhaps a talented modder can create them. Allowing extensions to be placed in the vicinity, but not directly adjacent, would also be a great way to introduce variety and eye-catching details! :) I can't wait for this game to be released. I haven't been this excited about something in a long time! I'm absolutely thrilled!
Pretty sure only certain service buildings require direct connections. Ive seen footage of some industry zones that have attachments u can place across the street.
Ohhh yesss! The Line creation and the way you upgarde the streets with tram tracks, is actually a 1:1 copy from Transport fever (2) and i absolutely love it! In there it was one of the best, unique features and i always wanted it to be like this in CS, its much more reliable and customizable. this will be the game i probably will stick with the next years :) Thank you for the amazing gameplay and commentary!
The building extensions in the game are so cool! In the first one, every time I built a high school, I would put a basketball court next to it as the sports field. Also building roads seems so much smoother and way less picky. All in all, looks like a fantastic successor!
Absolutely gorgeous Infra, I can't even imagine the sort of art you'll be able to create a few months from the premiere when there are some custom assets and mods!
Wow! You created an amazing city in such a short amount of time. As a city planner, I love how you planned three distinct green spaces through the city. This gives most of your inhabitants a park nearby. If I can give one challenge to you, maybe try to connect these zones for slow traffic? In that way people would be able to walk and bike all the way through a giant park without crossing streets! For example the street on the right side of the cemetery isn't really necessary. Around the roundabout coming into the city it's of course a bit more difficult. Anyway, I thought it would be just a fun challenge. Can't wait to see what direction you will take the town in your next videos!
On ramps and off ramps are incredible. There are so many intersections I had to completely overbuild in cities skylines 2 because I couldn't set no right turn signs.
One of the best changes just seems to be the larger variety of building footprints. The massive depots to have trams or trains is really neat. The cemetery also has a much bigger footprint, which is great, and is beautiful as you mentioned. I worry it's a bit too 'unique', and will get repetitive seeing it incorporated it into every city. It would have been nice to have a more modular format using the new upgrade system. Or even something similar to how the farms are plotted, since graveyards like this often conform to irregular shapes in the gaps of the terrain and developed areas.
I really liked the pacing of the episode. You were able to explain everything fairely in detail, which many other content creators neglected in their videos imo, whilst also having good flow. Thanks for the great video! I´m looking forward to the next episodes!
I've watched about 20 of these videos and this one was by far the best, first one I've seen unlocking highways and the first time I seen someone upgrade the 4 lane road with a median with trees, which I didn't know you could do it that way! There wasn't too much yapping, enough to inform us and you really got a lot done compared to other creators. Good work!
I was the most excited to se your video out of all the other Cities creators! You build such stunning cities already and i can't imagine what you'll do with CS2 and the future mods! You're so OP for this lmao
Hi Nate - thanks a lot for the kind compliment, I really appreciate it! I feel very privileged to have early access and having a chance to get comfortable with the game - so even though I am so fortunate, I am still very much looking forward to the official release so we can really see all the creativity flourish ☺
One of the things I really liked about this into video was the fact that you created tram and bus lines. None of the other into CS2 videos I watched did that mainly because they stopped at the Grand Village milestone probably to avoid going beyond it. When I paused the video to write this message, you were getting very close to upgrading beyond Grand Village.
Wow! Getting pumped for Cities Skylines, this video has me excited! Popped over to Steam to put it on my wishlist, I don't usually buy before release. This approach to city building in this video is what I'm going to try for my first city!
From a gameplay features standpoint, I found this video to be one of the more interesting and engaging ones: --Lots of road variety used throughout, including the use of alleyway roads; and upgrading roads up-close --Highway unlocks and usage --An up-close creation of quays using roads + terrain tools --Using road intersection tools (ex: removing crosswalks, controlling traffic direction) --Leveraging two mass transit solutions --Mixing US and EU zoning --The district tool (no policies though - would've liked to see what our options looked like at that juncture) Thank you for delivering so much meat in so little time!
Never came across your channel before, but really loved watching you build a city, showed alot of things that other channels haven't shown aswell such as public transport and the other zoning types
This is honestly a much better showcase of the game than the other promo videos i've seen so far. The other videos I struggled to find what was actually different about the game. This shows that there definitely is a lot changed with the game that should make it a worthwhile upgrade. I think i'll probably wait a few more years to pick it up tho when it goes on sale.
I need to be honest, this game looks incredible, I'm amazed by the outcome and the huge difference between CS 1 and CS 2, Devs made a hell of a good job
This is a nice little city. And the brick red apartment blocks look like they have a bit of the Brooklyn Queens DLC air about them. You said you're not the expert at this, well nobody is when the game is new so you don't have to beat yourself up over it. You did great! 👍👍😊
Thanks a ton edward, always appreciate your input ☺ I am really happy with the vanilla assets - especially for some of the higher-density ones where they have somehow managed to make them pass as either an original old structure that has had some renovations (new windows and the likes) or a contemporary building trying to mimic older architecture.
@@Infrastructurist You're welcome! 🤗 And I'm glad the vanilla assets aren't all Super Soaker architecture for the North American builds and Generic German for the European builds. ☺️ I saw Czardus build his Middleshire U.K. city in vanilla and the available architectural assets didn't look British at all. ☹️

The only thing I don't like is that looks like a pretty big town to be only 2k inhabitants! But that's a small detail because this looks pretty much wonderful. Of course lots of assets and small details are missing, but the core game looks quite solid and that's the important thing for now!
Hi 4ndr_s, good input! It seems that population figures for most buildings are much more realistic now - single families mainly in singly-family houses, although maybe some of the apartment buildings are undertuned.
@@Max200012 It's not. Most modern tram systems (built after the 80s) have reverse crossover tracks in the ends. The older tram systems still mostly have the loops, but many of them are being removed. It's nice that you're now able to choose which one you want to use.
One of my favourite Creators play CS2 early access? Now this is something that I can't wait! By the way, nice city you got there, and you don't actually need tram roundabouts, as in the dev diary we are shown that tram can reverse unlike in CS1!

Absolutely gorgeous Infra, I can't even imagine the sort of art you'll be able to create a few months from the premiere when there are some custom assets and mods!
Thank you so much danon, happy that you like it!
Can't wait to see what the future holds for this game
What a start! Everything is calculated so well. Looks great!
Thank you so much mate, found yours very enjoyable as weel with some unique storytelling! 💪
The transitions on adding things to already placed bits for more authentic looks or purposes is soo
smooth
I love how they took the most popular mods from the first game and integrated them into the base for the second! Can't wait to for release!
17:00 "add a bit of a skyline to our city"
🔥🔥✍🔥🔥
I really liked the pacing of the episode. You were able to explain everything fairely in detail, which many other content creators neglected in their videos imo, whilst also having good flow. Thanks for the great video! I´m looking forward to the next episodes!
Thank you - glad you liked it! ☺
Assets look fantastic, i do really hope they improve performance quite a bit however. Great video
I feel very privileged to have early access and having a chance to get comfortable with the game - so even though I am so fortunate, I am still very much looking forward to the official release so we can really see all the creativity flourish ☺
wow this city is amazing mate very good job
So awesome features! Just cant wait to play and build a city. Your city was so great 😊
One of the things I really liked about this into video was the fact that you created tram and bus lines. None of the other into CS2 videos I watched did that mainly because they stopped at the Grand Village milestone probably to avoid going beyond it. When I paused the video to write this message, you were getting very close to upgrading beyond Grand Village.
The highways look gorgeous. Excited to see what public transport looks like.
Wow! Getting pumped for Cities Skylines, this video has me excited! Popped over to Steam to put it on my wishlist, I don't usually buy before release. This approach to city building in this video is what I'm going to try for my first city!
Beautiful build as always Nice Job !! I'm looking forward to see how well it expands !
From a gameplay features standpoint, I found this video to be one of the more interesting and engaging ones:
--Lots of road variety used throughout, including the use of alleyway roads; and upgrading roads up-close
--Highway unlocks and usage
--An up-close creation of quays using roads + terrain tools
--Using road intersection tools (ex: removing crosswalks, controlling traffic direction)
--Leveraging two mass transit solutions
--Mixing US and EU zoning
--The district tool (no policies though - would've liked to see what our options looked like at that juncture)
Thank you for delivering so much meat in so little time!
Amazing video! By the way - Trams are apparently reversible! So you don't have to always create end line loop :)
This is gonna be the way I'm playing/planning. Well thought out and always customisable on the spot. Loved the video man!
I'm SO excited for this. It looks like CO really took what they learned from C:S 1 and improved on it in 2. I'm soooo excited :)
Shit aged like milk lmao
Never came across your channel before, but really loved watching you build a city, showed alot of things that other channels haven't shown aswell such as public transport and the other zoning types
I love how different road building seems. It looks much easier and more versatile than in the first game.
Wish I could like this video more than once. Amazing build so far, excited for more CS2 from you!
I love this! I am so excited to see what kinds of beautiful American Cities people can make with Cities Skylines 2 and its new features!
WHOOP WHOOP! SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS!🥳
Im "WOWing" every 2 minutes with each detail they put on this CS2 game
Thank you Liana - glad you enjoyed it! ☺
very exciting, cant wait 😄😄😄😄
Great job.. Looks so nice! Looking forward to release!
I need to be honest, this game looks incredible, I'm amazed by the outcome and the huge difference between CS 1 and CS 2, Devs made a hell of a good job
i always thought the providing electricity to zones was a bit weird, it should be through roads. Thank You Paradox for that.
Is it Friday yet? I can’t wait to watch all these amazing videos!
ikr i am living for Friday!!
Less than 24 hours! ☺
@@chinolewin3335 same!!
Your city looks great and those cinematics at the end are gorgeous! Makes me wanna play even more! Thank you for sharing 👍🏻
Thank you! ☺
I was excited for this game but now? This video has made me even more excited to get this game! Being able to make a road going through an existing road without it telling you no? So awesome! So many QOL changes plus those cinematics look beautiful
This is really good 😮👏
Watched some of these videos, but this one is the most realistic so far. Love the way you play the game. Not only extend when needed, but also go back to older parts to improve and have mixed use. Well played sir, well played. You got me more enthousiastic for the game
Man I CANNOT wait to start building terrible square cities and spending hours figuring out traffic!! ❤. Absolutely love this game
Nicest thirty minute city i‘ve seen so far. Amazing. Good content, thanks for creating!!!
Thanks a ton Tobias, glad you enjoyed it! ☺
The cities truly come to life in CS2! Looks so good! ❤
this is the best CIties Skylines 2 Video I've ever seen !!! looks so realistic and I love your streets and parks!!! can't wait to play this masterpiece
Glad to hear that Chris, thanks a lot!
Can’t wait to see the next episode!!!
Btw can you share your PC system in order to play CS2 smoothly, please 😊
Thanks Nguyen!
Added hardware specs to the description ☺
I can't wait for mods to come out that make this game look as nice and realistic as heavily modded CS1. All the new features look great and should make for awesome quality of life improvements.
Shout out to all the Modders and customisers over the years who made the way CS2 work possible.
This guy makes SUCH aesthetically pleasing cities
The only thing I don't like is that looks like a pretty big town to be only 2k inhabitants! But that's a small detail because this looks pretty much wonderful. Of course lots of assets and small details are missing, but the core game looks quite solid and that's the important thing for now!
Hi 4ndr_s, good input! It seems that population figures for most buildings are much more realistic now - single families mainly in singly-family houses, although maybe some of the apartment buildings are undertuned.
With your accent it sounded like you said "We're gonna build an american city from Shrek." So I was like, ahh New Orleans!
''Realistic American town'', One second alter we see a tram :D
Hahaha, they do exist! Although seeing as we're around 3000 population here.. Probably not on this scale just yet 😄
wow, this is gorgeous! you made a nice city
So hecken excited for this! I cannot wait to see what beauty you create in Cities: Skylines 2 and discuss Vancouverism... haha
As a fellow Canuck from Vancouver this does tickle my beard a fancy.
1:04 "can't be more than 30 minutes", exactly 30 minutes
With the tramline, you don't need to do loops at the ends now, the trams will reverse at stops.
that's hella unrealistic though
@@Max200012 It's not. Most modern tram systems (built after the 80s) have reverse crossover tracks in the ends. The older tram systems still mostly have the loops, but many of them are being removed. It's nice that you're now able to choose which one you want to use.
@@olskutsuikkeli not everyone lives in the USA
@@Max200012 I’m aware of that and I don’t even live in the US. I live in Finland.
@@Max200012 I live in Germany and our trams do that with reversing at stops. So it's not unrealistic :)
I LOVE the way you can mess with lanes on highways
Maybe this is just my C:S1 PTSD, but I'm seeing suboptimal performance barely at Large Village level. Please tell me I'm wrong.
Oh you're right
Love the city of Riverview!!! I have a feeling this will push the channel to 100K by January, because I love this!
I’m so happy the most talented cities skylines player is on cs2! ❤❤❤
That is a very kind compliment. Thanks a lot! ☺
I love that building roads is now more natural and not a burden anymore. I wanna build intersections now.
oh boy oh boy!
Yes Duszh 😎
One of my favourite Creators play CS2 early access? Now this is something that I can't wait! By the way, nice city you got there, and you don't actually need tram roundabouts, as in the dev diary we are shown that tram can reverse unlike in CS1!
Still not too conviced by the way the streets (especially in the roundabouts) look like with the lane color feels like it should look less white.
Everythign else looks great!!
Hi Jonathan, very legit concern - I don't know if it's getting tweaked - or might have already been tweaked. I feel its less aggressive in this beta version than the earliest of trailers, but I could be wrong ☺
@@Infrastructurist Hey man, thanks for the reply! Love your content! keep it up!
if i started this game for a lets play i would have recorded the whole series in a day :) this game looks really fun! idk how u got so good at building the grids and things, but its crazy what u did in maybe a hour of gameplay!
Thanks a lot!
Gah I am SO EXCITED! Everyone in the YT community is posting their screenshots and I can't contain my excitement!
Aaaaannd of course, I am working both Friday and Saturday. **sigh** 😅
I still play Simcity 4 delux with a Network Addon Mod. When I saw this video I made up my mind to prebuy Cities: Skylines II bundle. Can't wait to play it.
