  • Today I'm showing you my process of chamfering carbon fiber drone parts on the Shapeoko 4 XL CNC Router.
    Tools Used:
    1/8 Downcut Bit
    SK-3 90 Degree Burr Chamfer Bit

    expand on this by telling everyone how important it is to repeat this process every time, cannot re-use the pocketed board unless running multiple parts at same time. once that plywood jig is removed from the table its scrap. it would be nearly impossible to align it correctly and could ruin some costly carbon fiber

      @@flyin3d73 yes very true. Thanks for pointing that out. I have actually ruined carbon by trying to use old jigs and you’re right, it’s very difficult to line up even with the fence and an electronic bit zero. Usually off by .25mm and it won’t cut the chamfers right.
