I’ll always remember Mike Wahle! It was 1998 or 1999 and my dad and I are waiting in the packers parking lot to say hi to the players on their way to their cars. Brett comes jogging out in shorts and flip flops says hello but “had to run to the airport”. Mike comes out a few mins later and comes over to talk to my dad and I and ends up giving us 3 tickets to the broncos game that year. Sat next to Gilbert Browns kid and wife/gf. Don’t know if you’ll see this but I thank you for the memory, Mike!
Pretty sure he just politely said Quay should be benched and no one else is good enough to start over LVN. Maybe not as blunt as Andy, but he’s criticized both players plenty over the weeks and years.
His criticism is a bit more measured I think and he’s very much more respectful of players as players than the usual talking heads. He just doesn’t want to be out here calling for jobs. Respect to him for that too
Why does our d line coach have a job? When no one in a position group is playing well, no one is improving, in fact most are worse than last year, that’s coaching.
Just don’t lose sight of the fact that with a scheme change from 34 to 43 you kinda need different skill sets to find success. Maybe it’s the coaching but also I think it could be talent based. Idk about throwing the bathtub out mid season is going to change all that much in terms of production. Maybe I’m wrong but it feels like they’re just gonna need to find some different body types/skill sets up front for next season.
@@OverpoweredByMonk I always thought they had the body types to run this defense and the personnel was mismatched for the 3-4. Guys like Wyatt and Brooks are the quicker, faster type DLs that should thrive in this 1-gapping system. I'm really puzzled why they aren't having more success pressuring the passer this year.
Like everyone said no need to apologize for a win but if you look at 2 of their loses it was more a self loss than truly getting beat. A handful of wins were all these self inflicting wounds too, including this one. If we’re being honest, not sure if they’re going to fix these problems as they’ve been pretty consistent all year. I hope they do because they have the potential to make a SB run if they do.
Andy, I’m at the point where I’m downloading the Mike episode weekly and running his audio through Adobe enhance sound. Absolutely love Mike but a cheap USB mic would do wonders for him.
If a defensive guy only has one move to Mike's point, how often do players either seek out guys in the league with better moves to learn from, or do they get coached to add moves?
Good question about the DL "draft & develop". It doesn't seem to exists. LVN desperately needs NFL coaching on pass attack, arm & hand techniques. WTF?
I’m so mad! I buy Sunday ticket every year till this year because I live in WA State. The last 6 years I paid for it and our area turned out to show like 13 of their games locally. This is the first year without it because they jacked the price way up! I have yet to watch a live game this year and I’ve watched every single game for most of my life. I resorted to red zone to watch them the next day but this is BS lol
The Vikes went from Donatell to Flores and got much better in the first year. It wasn’t like going formula one to motorcycle racing. I think our legacy defensive players aren’t that good. Andy’s three best players on D are a FA and two rookies.
The Green Bay Packers, the NFL’s youngest team, are navigating their growing pains as they aim for Super Bowl contention. Rasheed Walker has improved after a shaky start marketed by 6 penalties in his 1st 3 games. Matt Lafluer commended his growth, emphasizing the importance of consistent preparation and performance. He expressed concern about regression, using a memorable phrase to illustrate his thoughts on maintaining focus and discipline. Rasheed Walker’s evolution as a player is critical for the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl aspirations. The team’s youth presents challenges; however, consistent performance from key players like Rasheed Walker could be the key to navigating the Green Bay Packers playoff journey. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
If selah doesn’t stay on next year in some role the carve out to pay him enough then the only option is to can Hafley and hire Selah! If he leaves we’re not going to get another shot at him. Hafley started strong and they’ve regressed instead of gotten better. Selah is proven year after year at having a top defense. I’d feel bad for Hafley but you have to do what’s best for the team and we’re already seeing red flags. Lefleur has a habit of keeping coaches 2 years too long
@@Pnw208 it’s year 1 in the system and we don’t have pass rushers that can get home outside of Gary and that’s hardly working. They won’t move off Hafley in 1 season.
@@Pnw208 think it becomes harder and harder to hire guys when the job is a revolving door. They need to get to the draft board again and get some new d lineman and give haf another season before they do anything drastic imo.

Interesting to hear Mike's player ratings: much less critical of Quay and Van Ness than Andy, along with more critical of the Preston trade.

C'mon Mike, get a better mic.
Yeah really challenging to hear
Usually it’s not this bad 😂
Please! Mike's great. Mic's not.
Not again 😢
I can hear him fine? Literally 0 issues understanding him on my end
What I'm hearing at week 12 is we need to clean some of this stuff up, figure this out, a little disturbing. Here's hoping. Go Pack Go!!!
Greenbay needs to hire Mike as a D and O line consultant. Come on Matt get him in the organization again.

Mike Wahle for Packers Pass Rush Coordinator!

Thanks Andy for the update, I love you.
Always a great listen!!!
Should I stop eating Luigi's Pizza and get myself injured and call up Jake Reis at Habush to support the podcast?

He had his airpod in and unfortunately I don't think it was connected. Usually it's not an issue. I should have caught it live and had him adjust it.
While your here! Autograph not available ireland
Any other way to listen?

Thanks so much!
Andy needs to go to mike wahle and set up his stream

Time for the Packers to part ways with players who INSIST on "tackling optional" attitude & play. The league is up to their next in that crap.
There not ready. The next month will tell us for sure.

DOM (Disciple of Mike)!
Looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane.....
You as well Mike
Listening to Mike makes me feel smarter and dumber in that I learn a lot about what I don't know.

They are lacking in talent. How many coaches have they gone through with no results or small results. Poor defensive draft picks by gutey.
