I did a little research and it looks like that’s one of the reasons Panini introduced this mystery rookie set. Williams signed his deal too late to be included in the earlier football sets so Panini can make and distribute his cards along with 5 other prominent rookies of their choice at the end of the season. Still not a Caleb Williams fan but that’s the scoop. If you look, they did the same thing with Puka last year in a few sets once he had his breakout. Apparently, it was spurred on by Brock Purdy’s success as a 7th rounder and Panini not having any cards of his in the majority of their 2022 product. They didn’t want to miss out on that kind of $ ever again.

@rvermeulen66 yeah. I’m not sure how they make that determination or when. Im guessing they’ll announce it on their site at some point, but guess we have to wait until then.
