  • In this video I go over how to make soap step by step. I give the full recipe and measurements. I will admit this was the first time I made liquid soap but it was a little bit easier than I thought it would be. I would definitely say this is a more advance soap technique. This method is considered a hot process Glycerin liquid soap recipe. Liquid soaps are made with Potassium Hydroxide (KOH). Thickening liquid soap can be a little challenging. This tutorial shows you how to use a simple saline solution to thicken your soaps.

    Girl you helped me out so much!! I threw away 3 batches thinking I messed up! But as soon as I added the water, I got taffy!! Nothing like the videos I watched 😂 thank you so much!!

      Oh no! Lol. That’s not good, I am sorry you wasted soap. Yeah the first batch I made I was so nervous… it looks like you are doing it wrong and then all off a sudden it’s soap! I am glad this video helped you.

    From all I've seen the glycerin should be 220° before pouring in the lye. I am also surprised that you didn't get a quick trace since you used glycerin. Thanks for sharing

      Well that could be the typical way to do it. This was the first time I made liquid soap. I can’t really confirm or explain what is best practice. I am glad you enjoyed the video though.

      You are welcome. It was a long process and kind of tricky but the end result was nice. I am not sure how often I will make liquid soap but I am just glad I can.

    Great narration, thanks! I did hear you say "the soap needs to be below 10%" when you seemed to be referring to pH, which is not in percentages. Below a pH of 10 is what you meant, right? 8-10 is normal for soap.

      Yes! I probably did misspeak 🤦‍♀️ 8-10 is for PH

    Hi😍
    really like the result of your liquid soap. It's amazing
    I have a question: can I use a Crothix Liquid instead of a brine?

      I have only made this recipe of liquid soap. I have not done enough research on those particular ingredients.

    Great video. I however had a terrible time. Put the water in slowly. I mean very slowly. 4 ounces at a time. After the third, it erupted like Mt St Helen’s. What a mess! Trying to salvage what’s left. How do I get it to mix better? Keep adding water? Hot water? I’m scared lol!

    • @aliciaarroyo6
      @aliciaarroyo6  Год назад

      Ahh! I am sorry. Yes! I was having issues too. I don’t remember how long I waited between each pour but the video is speed up. I want to say I was waiting at least 2-5 minutes between each pour. The water was room temperature. I will try to take better notes next time. The one time it bubbled up quite a bit I walked away for a while and added more. This was my first time and I have been kind of nervous to do it again. My soap came out amazingly and we are finishing up the last few bottles. I love the end product it just is a long and overwhelming process. But I bet if I do it more it won’t be bad. I use to feel like that the first few times I made CP soap. Hopefully your soap turned out.

    Can I add KOH to
    o the water in the first and add glycerin after making the KOH SOLUTION ,GOD BLESS YOU 🙌

    • @aliciaarroyo6
      @aliciaarroyo6  Год назад

      You can test it out but you want to make the paste first and separate so you make sure the paste sets up properly. You can make the KOH & water solution and set it aside. I just know this is an all day process in general.

    Hi! Could you use clays/powders in this recipe? And what phase would I add them in? I look forward to your response

    • @aliciaarroyo6
      @aliciaarroyo6  Год назад

      You can experiment with that but I believe with liquid soaps you have to use a liquid colorant. I have heard things like mica will sink or separate so I have not done it myself.

    Hi Alicia I'm. Your follower from Switzerland I have a question can I change the sunflower oil for cocoa butter ?? another question her didn't stay a folder. in case it is not necessary to stay a folder ?? thank you if you answer me❤❤❤

      Hi! Nice to meet you! You can not just substitute the oils or butters. If you do you have to make adjustments to your lye solution.
      I am not understanding the second question. I don’t think it translates well. What do you mean “folder”

    Is there a simpler recipe? Been trying to make a castille soap as a base for beard washes. Tried buying premade and it turns watery when carrier oil added. Other recipes ive tried are to thin. Looking for something consistency of Dial or body wash and is simple to make

    • @aliciaarroyo6
      @aliciaarroyo6  11 месяцев назад +1

      This was a pretty basic recipe. The last section of the soap making it explained how to thicken the soap consistency. I made one large batch and played with the salt water solution to thicken it up

    isn't potassium hydroxide bad for skin?
    is ph level 8 bad for skin?

    • @aliciaarroyo6
      @aliciaarroyo6  Год назад

      You are mixing with lye so it’s undergoing a chemical change. You can and should test the PH as well once you are done. Most liquid soaps fall into more of a detergent type soap so yes they tend to be harsher on the skin but I have seen some liquid soap makers come up with recipes that have lower PH levels. A lot of this you can control and adjust with practice. I haven’t made a lot of liquid soap so I am still learning a lot.

      @@aliciaarroyo6 what is the safe range for ph? Is 8.5-9 bad? how to reduce this?

    • @aliciaarroyo6
      @aliciaarroyo6  Год назад

      @@krishnachakrabarty577 PH levels from 7.5 to 10 are ok for soap. 10 might be harsh for a lot of people. You need to watch the section of the video where i dilute the solution with water and check with PH strips.
