Madzie, I used to run a Transition house for Women & Children ( DV ). I think Sophie recorded this for proof of his ab--. The reasons women stay is fear and or money ( lack of ) .
DV is very complicated. Rob behaviour is horrifying. You are right, it is always based on childhood trauma. We had hundreds of clients. Sophie needs help and therapy to leave him. I also personally went through DV twice. It’s frightening. Thank you Madzie.

Wow this triggered me I was in a abusive relationship and I remember my dog comforting me and me comforting my dog the last time my ex hit my dog then came to hit me .my poor dog ran and hid . I felt so awful and thought my dog didn't deserve this . Then the little voice in my head said " you don't deserve this either.' I waited till my ex fell asleep and me and my dog left.
I tell my story because NO ONE female or male pets kids deserves to be abused . Get help you deserve better.
My dog helped me too. I remember one time the screaming and yelling was so bad that even the dogs were scared of my ex and ran away from him. Now my dog is my service dog helping me with PTSD from that relationship. Glad you got out!

A lot of abuse victims record as evidence of the abuse sometimes for themselves and sometimes for other people. Abusers will flip your words or pretend that they aren’t that bad so sometimes an abused person will record to remind themselves of what happen or to validate themselves…it’s really sad

I'm pretty sure that's not his first time. Many times women tend to hide their loved ones from their moms and friends judgement, hoping for changes. Unfortunately, it never gets better, but much worst.

I was severely mentally emotionally and physically abused growing up. The physical scars healed, The emotional scars well I'll have to let you know when they're completely healed.

I had a dream last night and they randomly popped up. It wasn't the exact words Rob spoke, but the same verbal abuse and hatred and Sophie crying presented itself in the dream. I woke up confused and hurting for Sophie and just the need to pray.

Um, Sophi was gone for 2 mos. Rob didn't drag her back by the hair of her head. Oh, that's right - it's a wig. She visited him briefly, a couple times & safely left when she was ready. This is an act for TLC "entertainment". Sophi's quite safe & doing fine. 😅
Abused ppl are often afraid they won't be believed, that's why she's recording. She stated she doesn't feel safe. Watching Rob from day 1 was hard bc he reminds me of my ex who abused me very badly. His entire demeanor and thought process is just like my abusive ex. She could do everything right and he'd find something to fight about.
I'm normally very sceptical of people secretly recording their spouse in an abusive moment because like you said; it could be a setup. My abusive ex used to do the same thing to me. I caught him once (I to this day have no idea how many times he did it) because the camera on his phone made a "ping" when he turned it on. Prior to that, he had spent hours tormenting me until I ended up having a nervous breakdown, at which point he excused himself, went and got his phone (which is when I heard the "ping") and came back into the room completely calm and collected and said "Please, continue". When I asked him why he would try to record me, he just smirked and said that he needed it in case I didn't behave myself down the line. I still get chills just thinking about it. Personally, I would have never dared to secretly record him like that because I knew how absolutely dangerous it would be if he found out that I had.
Now, all of that said, it's different with Sophie and I do believe that she's the victim in the situation here and it's for a very simple reason; he acts the same way even when he knows that he's being recorded (like on the show). Sure, maybe he tones it down a little for the show (unless they cut the especially bad parts out), but there is no doubt that there's something very wrong with him when you watch the show. It frankly amazes me how there are people out there defending him and blaming Sophie's mom for their problems.
I also want to add that we don't know if he has physically abused her at this point. Just because it's not on video doesn't mean that it hasn't happened. Judging by the dog's reaction to his screaming, it wouldn't surprise me if he has previously lashed out physically as well, either towards her, the dog or someone/something else. That dog is terrified.
Yes one of the classic personality traits of a Narcissists (NPD) is to instigate drama endlessly.... until you eventually snap. Then offcourse they have preplanned that, so to use your response out of context, against you.
Such people are EXTREMLY dangerous for your health, economy, career, etc.
Because you will get emotionally drained, ecobomicly often ruined, and they may be so manipulative and malicious that they try to destroy your jobsituation and put friends and family agaibst you.

One thing that has to be addressed fairly is what happened before this video started. Saying he could take it or he could break it could be his frustration over lies she has told him. We all know she lied about having a Lesbian experience as well as her ex boyfriend. She does not take accountability and her mom is an awful person period. I will say that when Rob made the comment about whooping her ass, that really crossed the line. Under no circumstances should he even say he could put hands on her or actually do it. Keep in mind that this is from only Sophies and her mothers perspective and they are amazing at not taking any accountability for anything Sophie has done. So there is a lot we have not seen or heard. This was a terrible relationship from the start and all three of them are horrible people. Nobody is a good person here. You are always on top of news coming in. It was very disgusting how.hard Rob bullied Sophie. She is a very young woman and I'm sure its emotionally scary when a man you trust turns on you. The putdowns were awful. No o e need to ever hear that. i am do glad she left him & I hope this video scares others off of him. I suspected he was an insecure man who would put her down so she didnt think she was too good for him & that's exactly what he was doing behind the scenes. Very sad that a young person like Sophie ends up saddled with a divorce in her history before even reaching age of 25. People shouldnt marry in 90 days unless they've at least lived in the same place together long enough to really see how they act under stress.
The 90 days is just to get married but theoretically they're already engaged and should be finishing the wedding/honeymoon details once the foreign spouse arrives in the US.

Manipulators and abusers play on the other person’s insecurities, emotionally manipulating the person by also gaslighting them and making them feel like they are losing their memory, “owed it” or it’s part of their relationship, will do all the love bombing to reel the person back in and then restart the cycle of abuse again…but each cycle gets worse.

It seems like Sophie has been raised by a toxic mother. (Narcissist?) And is not able to properly communicate from those traumas.
And thereby everything escelates.
And Sophie therefore (due to childhood trauma) easily gets triggered with trauma overreacting responses (she overexagerate and takes things out of context to exagerate it),
And she sadly then ends up badmouthing (things out of context) to her toxuc mother.
And then her toxic mother (whom maybe a narcissist) abuses that information to "blackmail/pressure/hold over" her daughter Sophie.
Narcissists are master manipulators and is able to spin things so intense. Using all the info theyve gotten to rewrite history into their own narratives.
Noone understands how toxic a person with NPD really can become, unless seriously experienced deep encounter with a persoon with NPD.
Nothing can really prepare you of how manipulate and dangerous for your mental health etc etc a NPD person is.
The quarrell between Sophie and Rob is not that unusual for any couples (a seldom time once in a while). Her crying and strong reactions may be due to her upbringing.
And she can not work on K1 vusa? So what. Does she have 0 savings? What has she done all her life? Nowdays ppl can even put up a yt or tikyok account and make some money. Or online jobs... which pay atleast some money.
Byt as a normal person, she should have SOME money saved up for emergencies etc.
So its not such a big problem as the mother CLAIM it is.

Sophie always seemed broken (far more than Rob could have done). Type of broken baggage that you see in people whom have a long history (childhood traumas).
And what Sophie has revealed so far is obviously only the surface levels.
Such toxic mentall reactions that Clair showed in that newer videos.. that is not something that happends only over 1 day. That is something Sophie has lived with her mother behaving in such mental ways for probably since Sophies childhood/teenager years.

I always felt Sophie's mom was absolutely correct to voice her concerns while the majority of viewers EVEN YOU MADZIE... called Claire "nosy" and basically blamed her for causing problems between the 2. They already had their own problems and it had nothing to do with the mother and NO SHE NEVER LISTENED TO HER MOTHER DESPITE EVERYONE SAYING SO... because it's that were true sophie would have never married him in the first place, and/or would have left him long ago. Not only that... the majority of viewers also agreed with rob when he said she needed to be home with him to work on their problems together, NO ONE SHOULD have to deal with this type of abuse and disrespect... she was absolutely correct to leave their home for 2 months if she did not feel safe. I also feel she "needed" to record some of his abusive outbursts because if you have watched the show, rob is a liar, gaslighter, refuses to take any accountability for anything he does. He cannot handle even the smallest negative critique and will defend himself by simply denying it... and blaming it all somehow on sophie.
