That cameo appearance from Rob was hilarious.
Rob/ Playstation Access exists in the TripleJump Universe confirmed! XD
Let it be known! Now we need him as a wrestler
@@ryantheanimator1156 same as OXbox/XTra. An audacious extended universe but a welcome one for sure
Yeah that bit was a funny shock
OH YEAH. HERE WE GO. VIDEO TIME. I've watched a TRIPLE JUMP playing every launch title video before. So I'm going to give this one EVERYTHING I'VE GOT
Heh, gottem
This needs to be hearted
Good for you
Yes...perfect 👌
Why no heart ?!
Tekken Tag was the best launch title. Was the first time I remember a game looking significantly better than the arcade version. Usually we’d play games at the arcade for a year then have the watered down version at home finally release.
played an insane amount of hours in TTT, awesome game, was the first game I bought for the PS2 too
I was only 4 when I first played Tekken Tag back in 2002. It was the very first game I ever played
I got my PS2 with Tekken Tag Tournament and SmackDown Just Bring It back in 2001 and was floored by how good it looked and a huge leap forward from the PS1 games.
Gosh, I love early PS2 graphics and aesthetic. The block people on the snowboarding game left an impression on me.
such a great era of games
@@julianpeterson4227 I want a pizza
@@MrHomelessHobos k
It was such a huge leap forward from PS1.
Each new generation of gaming since then seems far less impressive visually
I wasn't impressed with the early ps2 games since I owned a dreamcast but when final fantasy X and Metal gear solid 2 came out I had to get a ps2 :D
Strange to think that Rockstar had two launch titles for the PS2 and at least one game basically every year throughout the PS2 and PS3 generation and yet the only game they've put out since GTA V in 2013 is Red Dead Redemption 2.
That is crazy.. and disappointing.
They couldn’t make expansion content as easy i they can today. Only shame is most of that content is online only and doesn’t carry over to your single player experience.
"Games takes too long to develop these days" -- That what people said.
GTA 4 took 3 years and 5 months to develop, while GTA SA took 1 year and 9 months then GTA Vice City only took 9 months
Top tier Rob cameo
It's nice to see him open to doing these little cameos.
It was awesome
WHOOPS! Managed to miss off SSX in this video - it didn’t show up in my hugely reliable research and I’m truly sorry (it got 93% on metacritic). Thanks to Rob from PS Access for helping out with the intro! 💸YOU CAN BUY A SPORTS TIME SHIRT HERE 💸triplejumpshop.com/products/sports-time-t-shirt
Lovely little crossover. Excellent video!
I was wondering where the hell SSX was since it was considered the best launch game.
Only sadists liked ssx
Pretty sure Sky Odyssey was also a launch title.
Cool flying game.
I'm so happy to finally be able to buy this shirt!
35 mins of Ben's dulcet tones....bliss.

A ps2 was the last Christmas gift my Grandma ever gave me, I still have it hooked up in my game room
For me TimeSplitters, Tekken Tag Tournament and D.O.A. 2 are undoubtedly masterpieces, but I also have a lot of nostalgia for Evergrace and the good ol' Judd Johnson
My favourite part of Eternal Ring is how the rings are literally ring sized, ring coloured and hell to pick up. What a soundtrack, too. And Evergrace’s soundtrack! Such a banger.
I always love when Rob makes an unexpected appearance on a different channel
The Outside Xtra one was my favourite, this one is up there :)
@@Banquet42 that one kind of blew my mind lol wasn't expecting PSAccess on the XBOX channel
@@Banquet42 what episode is that? I haven't watched OXB in ages.
They were all in the one building a few years ago I assume they're friends
No mention of SSX? Considering it's the highest rated PS2 launch title it's really weird it's not featured on this list.
That game was so fire!!!!
You got me thinking...how the hell hasn't there been a remake of SSX???
Eternal Ring is something I appreciated much later. It has a lot of neat concepts which could have benefited from more time in development.
read this as elden ring for a second lol
Love this series so much! And seeing Rob from PlayStation Access has made my weekend!
This is an incredibly entertaining and funny video. Thank you for making this Triple Jump
Playstation Access's HELLO, YOU'VE CAUGHT ME vs TripleJump's OH YEAH, HERE WE GO, SPORTS TIME: a catchphrase battle for the ages.
I love that you pick the Pens as your hockey team because each console launch finds them in seriously different states of their franchise. 2000 wasn't the worst yet, but guys like Rene Corbet on a top line show the doldrums soon to come.
2003-4 was the worst of it, but it led to the Pens getting Crosby.
I loved the line, “this is the hill I will die on… please bring flowers.” Great job as always team triple jump.
I litterally came here, just for Timesplitters!
Fuck i miss those games! Even the 1st had soo much life and charm to it
ME TOO! So many memories with that game
Yes Rob! Love to see two of my favourite channels crossover
Absolutely my favourite series of TripleJump videos - great stuff
This was the first launch I was ever a part of. Such great memories
I was in Albuquerque NM standing in front of Best Buy that October. I will never forget it.
Mine was with the N64. Nothing will beat the experience of first seeing Mario 64 in action. First play of Halo Combat Evolved is my second choice.
Mine was the Dreamcast
@@leecroft7311 I was born in September 96 the N64 came out a few days after I was born but due to me being an infant I wasn’t able to experience the N64 my very first one was the Dreamcast
"Tekken is not like other, more complex fighting games"
Oh boy, only if he knew...
As a life long Tekken player I chocked at that line
Love to unexpectedly see Rob getting ticked off
They finally got him on the channel. Even if for a brief moment.
Nearly wet myself with laughter!!
Amazing video guys, so many fond Memories of the PS2, an elegant console for more civilized times
I really love the effort that goes into this channel
Oh wow! Rob Pearson from Playstation Access made a cameo appearance on this video! That was unexpected. And amazing to see.
Please make a series on playing every offical final game(s) released for a console. I’m keen for more sports time!
Such a great video and DEF worth the wait!!
I absolutely dominate the "Silent Scope" cabinet we are lucky enough to have down at the pub. Had no idea this game was brought to a home console. Wild.
It seems like the system didn't really start gaining steam until 2001. We got Shadow Hearts, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 2, etc, and it was backwards compatible. Xbox pushed the envelope in the shooter department with Halo and the like. Truly a great time for gaming as a whole.
Hearing Ben speak to me reminds me of a warm Christmas night
And as the years went on, the library only got better! Amazing system, as for consoles in my personal rankings, I rank it right up there with Super Nintendo.
Thank you! I’ve never ever ever understood what fantavision was all these years since it’s release and no one’s ever explained it. Makes perfect sense now!!! I was a dreamcast guy and then Got a ps2 for vice city and didn’t play it much other than that and big sports titles as I moved on to the big boy Xbox.
I still love Tekken Tag to this day. Fantastic game.
I BLOODY LOVE THIS CHANNEL!
What's the rule for "Oh Yeah, sports time!"? Does it have to be a serious sports game, or do Triple Jump not consider boxing a sport? That would be a controversial opinion, but I'd respect you for taking a stand anyway.
The rule is that this channel would be much less shit if they stopped doing it.
@@dannyholloway8597 false. They'd be worse if they stopped.
@@dannyholloway8597 That is just sacrilege, wash your mouth with soap.
Ready 2 Rumble is definitely not a sports game. It's a beat-em-up disguised as a boxing game.
@@dannyholloway8597 I watch their videos just to see if they say "oh yeah here we go sports time"
As a fan of the animé, I loved "ORPHEN: Scion Of Sorcery"...Despite it being janky and frustrating as all hell. I forced myself through it though, and actually gitted gud at the controls. My favorite part about the gameplay is charging up attacks while Orphen dutifully calls them out. It really makes you FEEL like an animé protagonist. 😛
Ngl, that Rob cameo made my day, great work guys 😂👍
I remember liking Summoner back in the day, though I also sure do remember it starting out incredibly slowly.
Damn that splash screen music takes me back..
You have my real name but the other way around.
The Rob cameo was joyous! What a nice surprise 😆
The shaking of the controller input, memory card, & game gave me a chuckle.
Street fighter ex 3 hold a special place in my heart. It was big in my childhood. The end credits giant fight. The tag team and 4 ppl on screen battle
OH YEAH. Here we go, triple jump time!!! I've seen a triple jump video or two before, though I never seen a whole 30 minute video in one sitting. So I'm going to give this everything I've got
Tekken TAG, TimeSplitters and Dead or Alive 2HC. Great games, some of my faves.
The video I have been waiting for
It's unfortunate that the Armored Core games are overlooked because of their inaccessibility/difficulty. You can customize the controls however you want. By mid-game you're firing multiple missiles at a time boost staffing/crossing over enemies dodging lasers while firing chain guns like a boss. Super fun game once you learn it, like a Souls game. In my top 5 favorite games for PS2.
I did a Tripletake when I saw Rob!!! Great video, shoutout to Fantavision
"ooOO time for some naughty car crime"
I usually don't LoL when I'm alone but that got me
Great vid, great cameo, well done
subscribing for the Rob cameo alone, that got me good and i know i'm in good hands here lmao
Oh yeah, catchphrase time!
I've heard a catchphrase before, but I've never said a catchphrase. So I'm going to make this super easy, barely an inconvenience.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Oh really???
@@jeremiahfarquhar Wow wow wow
“OH YEAH, HERE WE GO! VIDEO TIME!”
Always nice to see these types of videos. It’s fun to look back at a console during a certain time
I haven't watched a TripleJump video before, *so I'll give it everything I got*
Awesome video man 😎!
I got my PS2 with 4 games. Smugglers run, gungriffon blaze, ridge racer V and unreal tournament. Always wanted a video where they talk about those obscure games. Especially gungriffon blaze
When it's finally sports time, you DEFINITELY have to give it all you got 😁
I’m glad I found a PS2 from someone and found some of the games l used to play as a kid.
OH YEAH HERE WE GO SPORTS TIME, IVE SEEN A RUclips VIDEO BEFORE BUT IM GONNA GIVE THIS ALL IVE GOT!
I had Smugglers Run on GameCube, great fun!
Excellent cameo at the start, very well done
I always felt that the PS2 had one of the worst launch lineups, ever. When I got mine, the first year, all I could find to play was SSX, The Bouncer, Red Faction, NBA Street, and Onimusha. Even Sony didn't have a game for their own launch day (FantaVision was released like a week later).
I'm actually impressed by this list. I was a fool.
The Bouncer. Like a 3D streets of rage
Omg the Access cameo was absolutely amazing
I genuinely played so much armoured core hahaha easily one of the best launch line ups in history
Man, this brought back some memories. Looks like a trip to cex is in my future.
Let me be clear-if you weren't there at launch, it might seem laughable, but Madden 2001 really WAS a reason to own a PS2 at launch, other than using the DVD feature.
Think of all the football games that came before Madden '01 and even the ones that were of it's own generation. It absolutely destroys all of those, save for NFL2k or k1. If one bought a ps2 in 2000 or early 01, Madden was most likely a pickup. It truly was revolutionary and just beautiful to look at graphically (again, at the time)
It's certainly notable and deserves a little more respect despite being just a football game.
Can guarantee hardly anyone outside of America didn't buy Madden when they bought their PS2 at that time.
@SelectiveShinku not keen on the sport but me and my pals loved playing Madden games and we’re from fucking Bradford of all places
I mean literally nobody outside the US gives a rat's ass about football so while there may have been a couple of curious folks, it was most definitely not selling consoles anywhere but the US.
That Rob cameo was amazing :)
10/10 for that intro alone. The Rob cameo is hysterical 😂😂😂

I loved smugglers run so much, my brother and i would spend hours on end just driving around and using the game to play tag in split screen. Id give anything to have one more moment of that dumb fun we created for ourselves.
Great to see a Rob from PlayStation Access cameo, fantastic
Great series, and as expected, hilarious. To my eye the 360 was the pick of the launch game bunch.
Is it me, or was Mr. Sir Benjamin Potter suffering from a cold when he recorded the VO?
Also Tekken Tag and TimeSplitters are the best PS2 launch games!
Oh yeah sports time!
DOA2 Hardcore wasn’t a PS2 launch title. It was supposed to be but it was pulled at the last minute so I got Timesplitters instead along with Tekken Tag Tournament.
It was Friday 24th November, 2000. I had £400 saved from washing cars and delivering papers
Wasn't Kessen a launch title as well??! Kessen is always overlooked:/ It's a bit simple or "shallow", but is an early and experimental PS2 game. It haven't aged all that well though. But the entire conecept and presentation of the game is still very interesting and unique. And the soundtrack is amazing.
I got Kessen 2 along with the x-games snowboarding game a few months after launch when I got the PS2 so maybe. Not sure when Kessen 1 came out though.
@@sherrdreamz7232 Kessen 1 came out in 2000. kessen 2 in 2001
Oh my goodness, this video, this discussion, Rob's cameo; yes. yes. Yes.
When I get a notification that there is a new Triple Jump video, I know it will be a good day.
OH YEAH SPORTS TIME
When I got my PS2 for Christmas I got batman vengeance and kinetica. Loved both and played the shit out of them
Lol I loved seeing Rob in the intro.
My first three PS2 games were Orphan, Summoner and then Tekken Tag. Still play Tekken Tag with my mate to this day.
I didn’t realize doa was on the PlayStation, but tekken tag was my jam when it came out!!
Rob is in the Triple Jump extended universe?! Excellent!
That's bloody brilliant! Love seeing two of my favourite channels have a little cross over.
😂😂😂😂 loved seeing Rob from PlayStation Access in there. Great intro
Didn't expect to see Rob from PS access but not disappointed by it
OH YEAH, HERE WE GO! MOTION SICKNESS TIME!! *plays Timesplitters 1*
Wow, that Wild Wild Racing has some neat looking models :O
Lol, the cybergoth dance footage always gets me
It took 3 more games for Armored Core to finally implement control scheme that used analog sticks, typical From Software. Also DOA2 in-game graphics look better than DOA1 FMV opening in PS1, crazy how big the leap between two generations.
Holy shit that intro summarizes my experience owning the launch PS2. It had lens problems it's whole life, barely was able to enjoy it.
Love the access crossover!
OMG ROB!! Great video guys
I nearly finished summoner on pc and really liked it :)
One of the few consoles I don't have in my little retro setup that I do want, though emulation is nice for PS1&2 for upscaling 3D games.
I like to think I have something to do with there finally being a here we go sports time shirt!!!
