I was waiting for you guys to chime in! Thanks for the long awaited review. The price of these bad boys is what prevents me from pulling the trigger. I'm leaning towards a Hoka Mach 6 as my daily and an Endorphin Pro 3 as my racer because I'm on a budget. Otherwise I'd probably go for the Superblast 2 and the metaspeed sky Paris.
Nice review! Just as a side note, and I swear I'm not trolling - Why is lacing such a talking point? From a personal perspective, I have bought every supershoe from nike, adidas, asics, saucony, hoka for the last 5 years, coming up to 300 pairs of shoes including non supershoes, and I have never had an issue with laces on _any_ of them. I just don't find them to be a deal breaker, some are easier than others, but all of them work fine if you tie them the way the manufacturer (obviously) intends you to. I don't have particularly 'average' feet either. They are wide, and have zero arch. What's going on?
I LOVED SB1. Got over 500mi in my pair and used them for all of my long runs over three separate training blocks. Didn’t use Superblast for easy/recovery runs. Mostly workouts and long runs, so I could save them for more quality sessions. But it can do it all. Could replace two or even three shoes in a rotation.
The Superblast looks likely to put the NeoVista away with margin to spare… The answer could be if adidas sort their uppers out whilst keeping the weight down as light-strike pro can go toe to toe with ASICS premium option.
Neo Vista is a far softer and slower shoe. SB V2 isn't much different than SB V1 and the SB is just a better, more versatile and firmer shoe. I have 75 miles in my Neo Vista in 3 weeks and have 450 miles in my SB V1. Still prefer the SB V1 for LR or even daily miles over the Neo Vista. Only advantage I can see for Neo Vista is price. Neo Vista still a good shoe but SB is just in a different class IMO. PS I'm a healthcare worker so get 20% off at Asics so SB was only $175. Steal!!!!
I have the Neo Vista and can safely safe it's a fantastic shoe. It's not designed to compete with the SB2 as it's a far softer midsole designed for long, slow runs. I had the SB1 and would use that for long efforts where I would also pick up the pace. Looking at the new FF Turbo+ midsole in the SB2 and having the Asics Edge Paris I'd say Asics are pushing the SB2 again for quicker efforts. Only gripe I have with the Vista is the upper makes my feet get very warm but the fit is brilliant so it's a double edged sword as they say
I bought mine 3 months ago and only put 110 km in it so far. Makes no sense to pull the trigger on SB2 now but I don't know how long I'll be able to resist. I must be strong. My Klarna account is already screaming...
I've done over 1,000 miles in my SB1 and they are still going strong. Love them and worth the price for me. I do all my training runs in them, so are a do it all shoe.
@@Pato270 a Reddit user posted a brochure image of three other colorways a while ago, along with the release month. I predict the white and black colorway will be very popular once released.
Hi Run Tester Team, where did you buy this white/grey colorway of Asics Superblast 2? I could not even find them in Asics Website (U.S, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan). Hope you could respond to my inquiry. thank you
Sounds odd but for £200 Which would you pick? Superblast 2 Asics metaspeed edge Paris?? I have a voucher for asics and need a race shoe and a long run shoe Can’t decide lol
Mike, you absolute beauty. I owe you an apology. Recently I lit you up in a comment, bringing up your way of speaking. And I see now that it was totally unfair. It’s obvious to me that you’ve really polished the way you deliver content, and I’m here to honor it. I’m definitely a yank, and an absolute wanker on occasion. Cheers, friend, and well done. 👊
It’s a love hate relationship with my V1, they fit very well but each run in them either the feet feel battered or get some sort of leg niggle, baffles me why 😢
Funny it was said by Asics that SB2 was supposed to bring a little more softness to the upper foam, not a lot but enough to make it more forgiving and yet still just as bouncy. Sounds like nothing has really changed at all. Surely they could have added a gripper outsole. I guess I'm going to wait for the Topo Specter 2 now.
You've mentioned something hard on the heel part, is it something to observed until you reach 100 miles? If it's hard definitely it would get you injured once you heel stomped on the ground hence you may experience heel pain or plantar fasciitis.
I wonder how slow of a pace can you go comfortably with SB2? Like what do you mean by easy run? Maybe put a number to that so the viewers can relate better.
The heavier you are, the harder you hit the ground, so the slower you can still go and see benefits. But it’s not a plated shoe, in general foam only are fine at any speed (you just may not see much bouncy energy return).
I run daily in the superblast v1 but feel like I'm the only one not in love with them. I've just never gelled with them but won't replace them till they've done a good few hundred miles due to the cost. Lockdown isn't something I usually struggle with but I have with these. I also find them very firm which is probably the racer in them but feels pointless having so much stack height if it's not that soft. I don't hate them at all, just don't love them and won't be getting another pair
Thx for sharing, wondering the fit though what to order. I'm a UK 11.5 with pretty much everything, including the sky paris, but superblast v1 and nimbus 25 had to go down a half size and both of them shoes in size 11 fits perfectly. Am I ordering a size 11 or a size 11.5 in the V2?
Im pleased they didnt change too much. Forget using these for racing. They really just suit comfortable pace and long easy runs. Ive clocked over 600 miles in superblast 1 and really done anything you can think of in them.
@tadejdanev5030 in superblast? I'd say Tempo is doable depending on how you like to feel doing it. For me I prefer a carbon plated shoe for tempos as that's what I race in. Speed workouts I'd just be wearing other shoes like takumi sen etc. Not to say you can't but there's better more specific shoes for that purpose.
I'm just not blown away by this. I sold my SB1's as I just found them a bit boring. Admittedly I put over 300 miles in them but in the end I moved them on. I dont understand how the SB2 has gained 10g when the FF Turbo+ foam is lighter then the previous midsole foam, there seems to be a little less outsole rubber and it has a smaller stack so where has that 10g come from 😫 Ok on foot you may not tell the difference but personally I'm on the fence with this. Might wait for a few more reviews to drop before actually parting with any money. Cheers lads 👍🏻
If you know a teacher, first responder, healthcare worker, you can get 20% off so $175. Its a definite buy at that price compared to other shoes in this category.
@@mr-w4812actually I believe ASICS gave these testers this exclusive white colorway. More colorways will be available in September. I’ll wait them out until then. The white color is included.
Way too costly for a daily trainer.
Day 1 buy for me, I think
Was up at 5am this morning to order. Now the painful wait for delivery.
Take my money.
Klarnas getting hammered again 😊
Lol. True though.
The sample/proto colorway is just so much nicer than the Paris release.
I even spent some time trying to find this colour somewhere. Damn, why did they change this good color to the orange yellow trash:(
It's released and yes it's better looking than that paris color.
where to get those colorway😢
I've got loads of miles left in V.1 and love that shoe so don't think there are enough changes to warrant buying V.2 for me
But the thing is once you clocked the miles on your v1, the v2 will be probably sold out.
