It's funny how as a kid you were either a Ford or a Holden lover. I'm a blueblood like yourself brought about by Dad working in all the Ford dealerships in the Canberra region for 20 odd years in spare parts. He was originally at Gregory's, then moved to E.J Rudge in Queanbeyan then across to Brian Pollock Ford in Woden and finally ending up at Shepherd Ford in Belconnen. We as kids used to get some cool Ford merch from back in the day. In fact I may still have the Ford "Rallye" jacket from the early 80's. In his later years, he can still probably rattle off the part numbers right up until the early 80's for all Fords. Now with the demise of Australian car manufacturing and in my later years, I now really appreciate all Australian made cars. My current daily driver (albeit once or twice a week) is an FG2 XR6 limited edition with the trimmings. Previous to that I owned a Mk1 Escort Panel Van, Mk2 Escort Rallye pack, an EF Fairmont, BA XR6 and a BF2 XR6 Turbo. Lovely cars shown at Crookwell, brings back many memories thankyou.
I remember seeing Ben's XY at his Nan's place years ago, long before it became what it is now. It's come such a long way since then, great to see Ben reaping the rewards but for all his hard work over the years.
I grew up in Goulburn in the 80’s and 90’s. Always had a strong car culture and plenty of nice cars, isn’t a whole lot to do there so a lot of us developed a passion for cars
Thanks Howard, great range of cars. Love the smaller shows, there's always a few gems. Did you get some video of the xa coupe? Will we get a lawn update? Thanks again.
G'day Howard, as a Aussie I'm proud of the cars we used to make, but pisses me off we don't make cars anymore (It's a governmental disgrace). This is a beaut video you posted. You can tell it's a country show by the fly's on the cars, especially the white GT. Ps! Trust a Ford driver to interrupt a Holden interview. 😂 Keep up the great work mate, muchly appreciated. 🤠👍
