This game's lore is seriously underrated. Some of the things here sound like they could happen in our world too and that makes the plot even more interesting.
Different shades of grey and every side working for their own interests.

Too bad all the freakin layers of confidentiality and bluring plus their own paranoia prevents them all from just co-existing casualy. It almost always ends up with strong language, broken bones and countless graves. Only pending question remains : !!! WHEN ? !!!

There is a small Easter egg hidden in the adapt campaign: in the first guerrilla camp, if you go exploring in the north, you will find a wrecked ship with a crate and a body. In the crate you will find black Mx rifles, ctrg camos and plate carriers… meanwhile on the body you can find a ION baseball cap. I pieced the info together and came up that the CTRG reinforcements must have reached the island the aid of ION contractors, but it is unknown if the guy is dead from the wreck of if he has been shot by ctrg to tie up loose ends

I always liked BI’s story lines but often felt they were not always really well executed. They can be convoluted and confusing or a bit flakey. This is an excellent video that helps to make sense of it all. Thanks Viper!
Unfortunately, my guess is BI will probably not invest in deep campaign storylines anymore when Arma4 eventually comes out, they’ll concentrate more on the platform itself, which to be honest, is the most important part of Arma. It’ll be a shame, as the mod community, as talented as they are, probably can’t replicate the quality, scale and depth of lore that BI could.

    • @MrTheTaterMeister
      @MrTheTaterMeister Год назад +1

They're intentionally confusing. Your pov is Kerry. Some random guy. Even if he fought together with you, the secret black ops soldier isn't gonna just tell you what he's up to. BI's storytelling captures the confusion of modern war in a way no other studio even tries.

I get the idea of the ‘bigger picture’. But if you think about it. Miller didn’t get the device on Altis anyway which means that thousands died on both sides of the conflict for no reason. Almost 3 squads were wiped out on stratis for nothing. Miller got Anatolia remnant forces killed on stratus for no reason. Kinda hate the guy.

Miller is one of my favorite charcters.A very complex character that walks the line between good and evil.I love how bohemia and modders include his character in chenarios and campaigns. And we see him from different angles ,we see other known characters evolve too and the whole altian war from different angles even civilian angle in Remnants of War. You see that Miller is forced to do stuff that are very difficult and unethical for others to do.But as you said he's the only one who sees the bigger picture and willing to make sacrifices for the greater good...I hope this story continues in ArmA 4 but i doubt it...

Funny thing about group 14 that never makes sense to me is Sgt. Hardy. James probably would be still alive if we ignore his SOS in the Win final mission.
But later on at the final misson of apex protocol, James returns with full members of group 14 with Sgt. Hardy, when Hardy was supposedly gets killed in Signal lost.
(Trivia: Go to James's position without taking Hardy's radio during Signal Lost. Trust me.)
Did the Maxwell Falcon Team wasn't the whole member of Group 14 and they stashed another Hardy somewhere? This is the point where me and my Kerry gets suspicious, where the bloody hell this Radcliffe guy come from? I didn't see him in Maxwell.

For fck sake, The whole thing is that bohemia story writing aren't exactly the Oscar-Award level but it did heavily based on logic, reason and perspective, not some Over the head kind of writing.
    0. Year 2026, Coup d'etat forces takedown altian government, British NATO send in covert CTRG 14 to assist loyalist force to defeat the AAF but ends up to no avail in 2030, Ceasefire agreement constantly being unstable up until CSAT comes in and play a role, CSAT position getting favored, NATO stepped in trying to win favor meanwhile CTRG tasked with reconnaissance on CSAT movement.
    1. Nato acquire Intel about CSAT secret weapon development project, CTRG ordered to track it down.
    2. CSAT using Altis as a east wind project development ground while keeping AAF in dark.Future proof showcased in cultural property mission where a suicided AAF general leaving evidence and dying note noticing story of possible deceit in CSAT-CTRG shadow War by both side.
3.At the meantime of the CTRG-FIA operation before oreokastro strike, the constant victory of the guerilla bought high suspicion to the high command of the AAF thus further and deeper investigation operation is underway.
4.In mission [Firing From Vehicle], a safehouse like room (with AAF/FIA common use insignia marked on the wall) filled with secret Intel and seismic graph suggested AAF find out about what is basically a evidence of a possible shadow War, CTRG realized the situation, sending FIA to take control of the situation, AAF reinforcement arrived get beaten down, NATO comes in rescue hostage, AAF shelling the town to silent anything that could post a threat to the investigation operation [OR you can try thinking the opposite way].
    5. NATO movement limited to Stratis island, CTRG 14 arrived in camp Maxwell wearing NATO equipment, Colonel MacKinnon rushed to KAMINO firing range, Hit by random landmine that is previously used all over the Old AAF-FIA WAR in stratis Meanwhile CTRG 14 started a "terrorist attack" on AAF(possibly site with Intel about EAST WIND?) causing AAF to Green on Blue against TF AEGIS; Evidence was suggested in dying note left by a suicided AAF general in CULTURAL PROPERTY mission.
    6. CTRG gather survivor and use them for the covert operation, CTRG step by step sabotage NATO invasion to create more time and after many operation, AAF begin tracking down CTRG movement, following trail of NIKOS the arm dealer, AAF manage to capture the arm dealer, sabotage the supply run and located camp Maxwell and hammering it with artillery fire.
    7. CTRG, trying to escape the danger of overrun by CSAT-AAF forces, using FALSE story and rile up the survivor to divert attention, striking enemy facilities and Leaving the risk of CSAT to TF aegis to dealt with while CTRG Securing a Assault boat to link up with remaining "useful pawns" escape, At the end, AAF jet spotted the escaping CTRG-NATO force and dealt a heavy damage thus sinking the Boat and drowning most Crew on board.
    8. Throughout the Adapt Campaign, CTRG 14 covertly sabotage everything that pose a threat to their operation, When NATO invasion can no longer be slowing by any means,Times are stretching really thin, Before NATO arrived in mainland, CTRG assigned to retreat and regroup for a suitable reentry, CTRG setup Kostavo to be neutralized by NATO thus keeping their Existent a remained secret while they're long gone from the island after the last debriefing.
    9. At the end, East wind project Related personnel are neutralized during the clash between CSAT viper and CTRG 14, Leaving few CSAT personnel Alived escaping the ALTIS with the completed East wind device before Anyone could caught a glimpse of the Secret project, Leaving Group 14 leader Scott Miller no choice but to abandoned capture attempt and continuously following the trail of East wind project All the way to Tanoa where the East wind device was suspected creating Tsunami disaster on the island and that is where APEX protocol Comes in
