    I'm from Argentina, my great-grandfather arrived here from Italy in 1883, and I always dreamed of travel to that beautiful and fascinating country. Thanks to you I not only began to know it but also to love it. Rest assured that I will go there one day to see in person the wonders that you show us in your magnificent videos. And of course Naples is first on my list of Italian cities to visit.

Te va a gustar. Además tiene cerca las Islas de Capri, Ischia que son una delicia! Un beso a mi Buenos Aires 💋❤️

    What a lovely and delightful city! I have traveled to Italy seven times and always wanted to get to Naples. It obviously has the characteristics of a world class people city. Loved your observation "..not taking selfies, talking to each other..". That is the product of urbanism at it's finest. Long may they celebrate. And they built a new subway to serve all it's people! USA, take notice. This is what a real city looks like, it works for everybody.Everybody prospers.

    Naples at night is like a film set, unbelievably evocative and poignant. It's so incredibly beautiful in its ancient graffiti covered squalor. The smiles of the street, alongside the rubbish and clutter. The glory of the people is supreme. Naples is a diamond amongst rubble, a living museum in a continent of a morgue. E la vera vita! Grazie Miele for posting. Tiamo Napoli, tiamo. Xox💖

    Thank you for showing us the vibrant, living city of Napoli! I have only been there a part of a tour to Pompeii and only in the area at the end of your walk. Mary Beard made a comparison of Naples to Pompeii and suggested that this lively city would have been reflective of life in the ancient city. And I agree with you about Venice....I have been there during Carnevale and while the city was crowded it was tourists walking around like cattle and very little signs of local life. You have given me a new perspective on Naples.

    • @giovannimoriggi5833
      @giovannimoriggi5833 2 года назад +1

      by the way, the Carnevale di Venezia is the most touristic thing of Venice. Don't forget it when you think about a tiny island. Actually there are locals if you walk over the touristic perimeter, but it's a real and well-known problem the fact the inhabitants are getting always lesser because the tourism… Venice is expensive as hell for the italian average. That city is the really the only one of his kind.

    Really appreciated how you talked about the history and the MAIN differences between a city like Napoli and other Italian cities , it's a place where you can find the real italian experience. Just to say; the sterotypes about italians, if you notice are pretty much all coming from Napoli, and also the cuisine does a great part too. I understood you were not from here just because you talked with a stranger that asked you where were you from xD and got surprised when you said you are from USA, it says alot about your passion and your open minded-ness on watching every characteristic of the city. This wasn't even a trip from me as i'm from Napoli, but i loved every minute of the video, you have to keep it like this, good luck ;)

      @@ProWalks Naples is a special city, without question one of my favorite in Europe. My 1st (working/coaching abroad) year was in 1983 skiing throughout the French, Swiss, Italian and Austrian alps plus visiting the larger cities (Paris, Geneva, Rome, Vienna) on summer ski tours for 14-19 year olds back when the glaciers were bigger. 1989 I made the US Ski Team & spent next 10 years traveling throughout the alps competing on the World Cup Tour as well as Olympic Games in France. Up until 2005 I spent more time in Europe than the States. I miss it, yet am ever grateful I was able to enjoy it when it was much less crowded, less expensive, and people weren't glued to thier phones, etc. Italy will always hold a special place in my memories. Keep on keeping on!

The last time I really went out for the evening there was in 2016 and back then the streets around piazza San Domenico were starting to get busier during the evening and some more restaurants and pizzerie started appearing after some years where the historic center was kinda dead and not so safe.

      @@Maloenton-Agency Verissimo. I Borbone ci tenevano a Napoli e iniziarono un processo di industrializzazione e ammodernamento del regno, inoltre a Napoli c'era sì povertà, ma non si moriva di fame. Insomma i Re si preoccupavano direttamente delle condizioni del regno e diedero avvio allo sviluppo della città che ben presto, di quel passo, sarebbe diventata fra le più moderne d'Europa, cosa che non è avvenuta negli ultimi 160 anni perché i vincitori l'hanno volutamente trascurata. Negli ultimi tempi ci si sta accorgendo di quanto ho detto.

    You seem to have forgotten to mention that all the area south of and including Naples was part of Mega Grecia; the multi generational inhabitants have Greek blood flowing in them. In Sicily there are still villages were the inhabitants still speak Greek. The pizza that everyone believes is Italian is actually Greek that was invented by the Greek inhabitants. Pizza is based on a similar concept that Greeks ate for millennia; it involves bread (pit(zz)a), various spices and olive oil; very similar to what many eat today in the Middle East. With the introduction of the tomato from South America, residents in Naples experimented using the tomato. The original pizza was the Greek spice mix with tomato. The pizza we consume today with cheese and toppings is an American addition when American soldiers stepped foot during WWII. You are absolutely right! Naples is amazing!!!

    This permanent chaos is caused by people's desire to live, those people who want to be the protagonist and not a spectator of a screen (like me at this moment). They eat, chat and laugh in a group, not sparing each other kisses and hugs. Everything that the "pandemic" wanted to take away from us. You are a lot like us Latinos from my land, Colombia, who have always had to fight against the same ballast of Naples. However, your love for that city moves me. Perhaps among such disorder, noise, danger and garbage you find the affection and authenticity that are elusive in other more "civilized" cities. Foreigners from my country think the same when they visit us.

    • @paxtecum4814
      @paxtecum4814 2 года назад +1

      @A R I notice that the author values much more the everyday connections, I mean human connections, that he and his family make with hundreds of little places in Naples, due to the warmth, joy and closeness of the people, which make everything memorable and endearing and brings a lot of meaning to life. That is why Naples is his favorite city, having recognized that there are other cities in Italy that are more orderly, safer, and cleaner that he almost never visits. In the end, it is about humanity, not materiality, and I agree with the position of the ProWalk Tours channel, whom I congratulate for their excellent videos.

    • @paxtecum4814
      @paxtecum4814 2 года назад +2

      @A R In 2021 there were 17 European cities more insecure than Naples, and all of them, according to your description, are "uncivilized", including London, Paris and Athens. The Most Violent European Cities:
      1. Tallinn, Estonia; 2. Vilnius, Lithuania: 3. Florence, Italy; 4. Belfast, Northern Ireland; 5. Kaunas, Lithuania; 6. Milan, Italy: 7. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina; 8. Glasgow, Scotland; 9. Istanbul, Turkey: 10. Kiev, Ukraine; 11. Dublin, Ireland; 12. Brussels, Belgium; 13. London, England; 14. Odessa, Ukraine; 15. Paris, France; 16. Athens, Greece; 17. Malmo, Sweden; 18. Naples, Italy.

    • @paxtecum4814
      @paxtecum4814 2 года назад

      @A R Since you ask, I answer that I would not like to live in Naples, but I would like to visit it as a tourist. And my initial comment was precisely referring to tourism and not to its residents, because the author of this RUclips channel visits it as a tourist once a week, since he does not live there. However, I would not dare to call Naples an "uncivilized" city but rather undisciplined, messy or perhaps chaotic. The components that make up a “civilized” city, according to the National Geographic Society, are: (1) large population centers; (2) monumental architecture and unique art styles; (3) shared communication strategies; (4) systems for administering territories; (5) a complex division of labor; and (6) the division of people into social and economic classes. All that has Naples.

    • @paxtecum4814
      @paxtecum4814 2 года назад

      @A R So the ones who make Naples undisciplined and disorganized are you Neapolitans. You need to educate your children to become responsible citizens. A citizen is the person who lives in the city. Learn to coexist.

    P.s..e comunque nonostante molti si "rifiutano" di capirlo (ne conosco tanti..) la lingua napoletana contribuisce in grande percentuale al patrimonio cultural-letterario italiano con numerose opere e autori che hanno dato lustro all'Italia nel mondo. Mi riferisco a tutte le branche della Cultura, dalla musica alla filosofia, letteratura, scultura, pittura, teatro, cinema, fisica, matematica...

    Siempre Espectacular Nápoles. Aunque Los vecinos que viven en el barrio español sobre los bares deben estar encantados con el ruido, lo mismo que los bomberos con las estructuras de terrazas tipo gazebo , cuando deben pasar por algún incendio.

    Hi Prowalk Tours shorter videos are great as well. When I have more limited time I like to watch your shorter videos. With the longer videos I can only sit at my computer for about an hour at a time so I watch the long videos at various sittings. All your videos have been of good quality to me so using the lighter equipment to save you from back issues would be preferred so that you can continue to make us great videos into the future. Thanks so much for what you do for us viewers.

    • @ProWalks
      @ProWalks  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I always plan the route first but I do deviate from plan...like when I was walking through the streets of the Spanish Quarters. I knew I wanted to walk through the streets there but just wandered when I was there.

    I've not been abroad. Even on my home country Japan I know superficial things. I imagine through your videos, what are they thinking at innermost of their heart. I'm not presumptuous enough to say I know the World however, looking closer to people, I'm made notice World is far wider than I know.

    Napali.....well, I prefer Palermo, Capaci, San Vito Lo Capo and of course Corleone.....But Napoli is my stepping stone to Palermo via the ferry. I made the walk too many times from the Termini to Ferry. Going to bring my BetaFPV Pavo with SMO 4K next trip in October 2022 if possible.

      Why Corleone? I went there and filmed a walk out to the waterfall. I never posted it up though. It was in the middle of summer and there wasn't much of a waterfall to be seen. The water was pretty low and gross. I flew my drone all around and enjoyed that. I filmed a bike ride in San Vito too...never got around to posting that up either.

      @@ProWalks - I've grown a preference for non tourist destinations but yeah I'm told there are far better places in Italy to vacation.
