I completed the circuit on June 10, that too solo. This was my first time. I experienced that skill matters more than the bike. You just need to know how to repair a puncture and change a clutch wire, after that there is no problem. For water crossing, waterproof shoes, a waterproof jacket and lowers are enough.
In 2021, I wished for a Royal Enfield Motorcycle. My friends told me, at the age of 50 and after a severe COVID attack it is highly Risky and you can't handle the heavy bike. But today, I have the RE Classic 350, Suzuki Baby Strom 250 CC . Occasionally, I go for rides. Age is not an obstacle to achieve what you dream.
I have an Avenger 220 cruise, 2020 model.....and its working excellent. Delhi-dehradun, Delhi-Shimla, Delhi-Manali, Delhi-Gwalior.......all these trips have been completed so well and that too in pocket-friendly manner. Its still giving tremendous milage of 43-44 kmpl in chaotic Delhi traffic, and on highways, long drive there is whoping 48-49 kmpl.
Depends. I would prefer a 350-400cc cos on highways a 200cc (XPulse) struggles and riding for 500-600 kms a day becomes tiring. But in the mountains it is absolutely a joy (of course I'd still want more power). If Hero can launch a 200cc XPulse with the new Karizma ZMR engine, that'll be a very good option.
As long as you can cruise around 90-100 kmph, any bike is fine. And the seating position to not give any body aches. All the best for your journeys on your motorcycle.

I also feel that the financial burden on Indians is very high to earn, save and provide for the family. Unlike the west which has had a very developed society (financially) for over 100 years now. But yeah, I think now slowly the mindset is changing and for the better. Thanks for watching. 👍
In the past I used to ride 350-400cc bikes for long rides. Somehow now I enjoy riding at a smaller capacity bike in the 150-200cc category. For long distance highways cruising these bikes maintain 80-90 kmph easily. On top of that I also get very good mileage.
People used to travel walking and many people still do. It is all about comfort whoever can afford at their best. Driving experience also matters and it will affect your body on lighter bikes. I am a 52 year 'young man'.. 😄 and was thinking about travelling with my wife and my golden retriever boy, whom I cannot leave behind and we have a 110cc Hero Maestro Edge scooter. So I thought we will never go for a tour on two wheeler and that would be one of my many unfulfilled dream. But this video has made me think otherwise. Let's see. Thanks for this very very inspiring video.
Wow. Comments like this make my day. Mode of transport doesn't matter that much. You can do short trips around your hometown with your wife and your boy. Longer trips might be challenging on a scooter. You can always start off small and see how it all works out and iron out the details. I remember my parents used to take me on small trips (within 60-70 kms) on dad's Bajaj Chetak back in the late 80s and early 90s when I was a kid. If not scooter, then bus, train, flight, ship...any mode of transport. Keep travelling and making memories. Thank you for watching and all the best for your travels. 👍🏽
@@theduderides Thank you for your inspiration. ❤️ The only hurdle is to carry my four legged 5 year old Golden Retriever. He is our only son. So, we cannot think of leaving him behind. Now, it is a real challenge on how we can carry him as carrying such a large boy on a bike is not feasible and there is no Indian video on this. Yes, there are a few Indian videos on solo riding with a dog but as per my realisation with due respect to those travellers, they treat their dogs as 'PETS' and there is nothing wrong with it. But we treat our Golden boy as our son and he is our ONLY son. We don’t have any other child other than him. Plus, we are a 50+ couple with a limited budget. So, our situation is different. I would love to have some opinion on this and if you or anybody can point me towards some online forums from where I can get some ideas, it would be very helpful. I have already made a wooden sitting arrangement for him on the footboard of the scooter and need some more tweaks but the scooter is not an ideal transport for long rides with 3 of us onboard. So I am still looking for answers. Thanks again for your inspirational reply. 🙂
I understand the difficulty. Only solution I can think of is a sidecar for your scooter. But then again you'll have to think about what kind of distances you want to cover and if your boy will be comfortable for those distances. Dogs are not designed to be in a static position like us on vehicles. So maybe take a 4 wheeler on rent and travel. That might be the best solution. In case you do come up with any solution, do let us all know. It might help someone else in the same situation. My friends have 2 pets and sometimes (rarely), they leave them at a doggy day care for a few days when they travel. I can understand that might be difficult for you but that's an option to consider especially if you're travelling to very high altitude places where animals might not get acclimatised or atleast convey if they face any difficulty.
I used to ride Yamaha RX100 and most of the times I will ride with my Dad and sometimes with my Mom without any trouble. Then I had Versys 650 and it was not recommended to ride with a pillion. Now I have Versys 1000 and I have to make adjustment to ride with a passenger. This video is like an eye opener.
Heavy bikes specially in the high mountains. A friend of mine has the versys 650 and very enjoyable bike but I wouldn't want to lug that weight around in the mountains. At one section I was ride up a section where there was rock on top of us (the road was cut on the side of the mountain) and suddenly I saw a big pile of rock and slightly ahead was a jcb still drilling. I was petrified of some loose rock falling over my head. Since it was the lightweight XPulse, I turned around and got out of section in less than 30 seconds. Can't imagine manoeuvring a big bike in those situations.
Totally agree with you brother.. I had plan of buying new dominar400 but i went to used CBR250r and saved more than half of the money now i am spending this money on travelling.. One more thing now days people do.. that putting so many extra lights on bike that costs too much.. Generally night ride is not safe on bike..
I hope you enjoy your rides on the CBR. As a rule I never ride past sunset. If my destination is less than 50-60 kms or if I'm returning home only in those cases will i push beyond sunset. All other times i leave early and reach early. But if your bike has very low intensity headlight like most bikes, I'd suggest a pair of additional lights. Better to have them and not use them than needing them but not having them. 👍🏽
It's not. But as I said in the video, this is only for those who have monetary constraints. If one has the money to spend on biking, I'd always suggest a higher capacity motorcycle and good quality riding gear. I'd rather people travel using public transport than not travel at all or wait till they have a specific motorcycle or car. Thanks for watching. 👍
I was planning to buy atleast 350cc for offroading but now as you said, even 125 or max 150cc should be a perfect and good decision to explore INDIA..... Thank you sir for changing my mind and save lot of money...
For purely offroading I'd suggest you buy an XPulse. But if you want to tour long distances (exploring India as you said) AND you can afford it, buy a bigger capacity motorcycle. 115 or 150cc on highways will be very frustrating and you won't enjoy after a while. If you can afford, I'd suggest the KTM 390 adv or the 250 adv or the new Himalayan 450. Or a used 390/250 adv. If you don't have any bike as of now, I will suggest you go for a bigger capacity used bike so you can save money or wait for some time and save money and buy new. You are much younger than the gentleman in the video, so enjoy the speed, responsibly. 👍🏽
@@theduderides Thank you for all the informations. Himalayan 450 should be the best option. Also I love to drive not more than 60-70km/h. So I hope this will be the good choice to go for Himalayan 450. Thank you again and all the best for your channel sir.
Dependa. If you want a motorcycle for touring and off-road, then the Himalayan 450 or KTM 390 adv are really good. They are not that good in the city. But if you have never done long distance touring or off-road, rent a bike (390 adv or Himalayan or XPulse) or borrow from a friend and try it and if you like it, only then purchase a bike. Many people see it on social media and think they also would enjoy but afterwards they don't ride so often. All the best. Thanks for your comments and support.
I am planning for long trips on my 2013 Yamaha fazer 150 which i never did due to work life, I would like to add one must buy high quality helmet at least, the rest cheap jacket and gloves are fine, because most of the brands like vega and studds their basic helmets are horrible in terms of safety.
If you can afford buy some gear. Always helpful. But never skimp on a good helmet. I am definitely not suggesting that people shouldn't buy gear in this video. Always try and save up and buy some rising gear. It's like insurance. Better to have it than not. All the best for your trips.
lovely video. people get carried away after watching a YT video or and Insta reel... buy something on loan and then don't use it to its full potential.
If you want to go to the Himalayas on a scooty, I wouldn't recommend. It's too underpowered and you will struggle. I have seen people do it on Activa and similar models from other brands but not fun to be honest. Instead of sending your scooty to Delhi and back, easier way would be to hire a bike in Chandigarh or Manali or Leh. Cost of sending scooty to and from delhi might cost the same as hiring a bike there itself and will be more enjoyable.

Inspirational video, Would like to see something on the bike he rides.
Unfortunately I didn't record it. I wish I had.
@@theduderides even though I could not understand the rider. I still enjoyed your video.
I'll try to add subtitles. I believe there were few others who didn't understand the language. 👍🏽
I have added the subtitles. Do watch when you have time. 👍🏽
Awesome ❤

Brilliant…
This is absolutely correct. I am using my 125cc suzuki Access in mountain area and working perfectly.😊😅
I also thought that you dont need an expensive bike till I rode one. Ride whatever you have till you get the right one 😊
Good content definitely very encouraging however 110cc is not powerful enough for all countries.
Keep up the good work
Intension matters
It'll be much better to show the motorcycle & it's arrangements for long travel
Instead

I am planning for long trips on my 2013 Yamaha fazer 150 which i never did due to work life, I would like to add one must buy high quality helmet at least, the rest cheap jacket and gloves are fine, because most of the brands like vega and studds their basic helmets are horrible in terms of safety.
If you can afford buy some gear. Always helpful. But never skimp on a good helmet.
I am definitely not suggesting that people shouldn't buy gear in this video. Always try and save up and buy some rising gear. It's like insurance. Better to have it than not.
All the best for your trips.
My father is 72 and still regularly travels 500 to 700 km on his Hero Honda bike.
Which bike
lovely video. people get carried away after watching a YT video or and Insta reel... buy something on loan and then don't use it to its full potential.

Can i take my scooty till delhi and start travelling there. And while returning back can i transport my scooty through railway
We don’t get to see the old dudes motorbike !
