Just ordered my first vr headset, quest 3 yesterday. Have put it off for years because the tech and library didn't justify the cost but with the ever expanding library and the new tech it finally looks worth it at this price point. And if it works out maybe an upgrade to a micro led or oled system in the future.

meanwhile I accidentally went on first encounters because I didn't know what I was doing, right from the start!! that was the first thing I tried and it was heartracing!!!~ it felt so scary because everything felt so real with the spaceship and all, and defending myself from fluffballs!! I also had to keep in mind not to hit anything but it was difficult to do that!!~
Great list! Some of the things i want to do is emulation in Mixed Reality, which could be achieved with a virtual screen, or localy. 3DSEN with passthrough could be amazing, and running old school flat games in VR which have allready been ported too Quest 2 with Sidequest.
Just bought one and am totally blown away litterly. I like to sit but have fallen off my seat twice.😂😂 Looking forward to seeing the fully immersive games. I did get a game with it but keep forgetting the name. Thanks for the video. Told me some great things.

right after first encounters i went to some spy game and had no idea how to get to the next part.. then I went to vrchat and everything was fine. I didn't get any motion sickness even if it's the very first time using vr! so that part surprised me!
Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I'm new to gaming/VR. With rhe fiber-optic cable, can you tether the goggles to a power receptacle rather than a PC? Id just be interested in charging the battery. Thanks
I've brought and used Oculus / Mega Quest 1 (the black VR) just for some few games, including Beat Saber just for a little experience of using the VR. That Meta Quest 3 though looked amazing!
Im in debate about getting the Quest 3, first im still not sure how much use I will be getting from it (still a bit of a gimic with few and often buggy games and apps that feels like demos) Im also dissapointed that id did not ship with oled screens. (Everything in my house is Oled, Tv, Chromebook Pc monitor) and once you go oled its very hard to go back again. Also I feel you need most if not all the accessories, and omg are they way WAY overpriced. So I think im waiting for hardware/software upgrades and price cutes and/or more 3rd party accessories.

So I went for it knowing if I hated it I can likely still sell it for mabe just 50 less what I paid. Also the possibility of renting it out to friends and family!
I'll be honest I just got this thing maybe a couple weeks ago and I am disappointed. I used to have the Samsung gear VR obviously not even close to the same quality but they had this really cool app allowed me to just float around the solar system or whatever never found anything even remotely close to enjoyable as that on meta quest 3 also there was some kind of 3D shooting game basically going through these tunnels I can't remember what either of these were It was just square graphics on the shooting game kind of like old Star wars or something but really the only thing I wanted out of meta quest 3 was solar system exploring everything in this category is s*** to me on this thing

First timer (70 year old) my Quest3 512 is going to be here in two days , got to try a quest 2 at my grandsons home last week and was super impressed.

Smash drums is good for sitting and exercise. It also has a mixed reality mode.

With Oled it would be more expensive and have fresnel lenses.
