    As a cylinder heads up, factory recommends torquing 1-10 first. 22lb, 90*, 90* (50* on the 9 & 10 if you have 1st design heads with 3 bolt lengths) THEN taking 11-15 to 22ft lbs.

    A long string of robots install bearings, hydraulically press cam bearings in, install rings, then rod caps, head gaskets, photo confirmed, head installed, dry bolts installed and one machine tightens all in one shot. Everything to complete engine behind glass. The only techs wore with suits and loaded trays with parts, never touched by humans until ran on natural gas for 10 minutes at 2K RPM, stamped, yellow marker, sheet wire-tied to dip stick tube then last robot picks it up & places in plastic create to truck to the assembly plant. Even GM eSI points out "Dry" bolts for repair in the field. Been there, saw that! Both iron & Al. blocks identical. Oh yea, the heads came in fully assembled with valves. Retired ASE Master Tech / Contract labor for GM at the time.

    When I put my arp head bolts in the instructions said to get your bigger bolts torque sequence done first then do the smaller upper bolts last .. is there a difference in the procedure from arp and oem?

    • @buddyrebel_Garcia
      @buddyrebel_Garcia Год назад

      No I think it’s the same procedure I think he just did it wrong. You’re supposed to torque the small ones after you have taught one through 10 and then you torque the top ones to 22 lb
