Insane that Marcus’s Grandfather is the Legendary Roy Haynes who also played drums with Chick in some classic recordings. What an incredible musical lineage, and they are both Monsters! One other father/ son drummer line the great Freddie Waits and great Nasheet Waits! Amazing to see.

Great concert wonderful playing. But the one thing I wish was different is the sound of the drums. Whenever I play with straight ahead drummers I hear that kind of sound. Maybe that's the sound that is expected in that particular style. High pitched, harsh and ringy. It just sounds too clanky for my taste.
