c 只为遇见你 Cantonese isn't a independent language , it is 1 of the many dialects of Chinese languages , widely used in Guangzhou ,Hong Kong, Macau , are you high in weed or coke ? you are jumping from city to province then country, all over the universe , claim down !!
c 只为遇见你 so 99.8% the citizens of Taiwan speak mandarin , therefore should declared as a independent language ? PS you might misunderstand the meaning of independence !
c 只为遇见你 Guangzhou (canton) for your thought is a independent province, separated from mainland China as a nation ,so Cantonese is a separated language ?
aww yesss! I'm so happy there are new Cantonese episodes out
Thank you too! Please give us a thumbs up and wait for our next episode!
Have you ever tried using italki to talk to people in Cantonese?
Great video, and it reflects my personal feeling as well that there's a dark cloud hanging over HK these days. There's a feeling of change but not for the better.
OMG! Thank you so much! It's rare that I d really feel like commenting below a RUclips video, but you've done such great job!!! I live in Mainland and am currently learning Cantonese. Your video provide not only accurate and detailed subtitles (which is RARE!), but also a unique take on various aspects about Hong Kong! Some characters I just don't know and could never find out the exact one! Thank you so much again! Please keep doing this!
Thank you so much for your positive comments!
Cantonese is a language which older than Latin .
It has a proper teaching method which easy to be learn,
and more important is....you will learn every single chinese word's meaning correctly and easily with an original HK people( intead of in Mainland of China)
Love Hong Kong - the vibe is just incomparable! Very special place.
This was the kind of content I was looking for! I hope there will be lots more videos in the future!
Their commitment to freedom is so inspiring, I hope they are able to prevail and stay free. Won't be easy....
Well, this comment didn't age well.

canto sounds so sing-songy and friendly. love it.
RIGHT????????
I came here from the Easy German channel, and I'm glad I found this video.
My cantonese is abysmal but it's lovely hearing, something about mother tongue and what not
Pls do more Cantonese ! I am learning it and this video is perfect for listening and picking up tones!!
I know this place very well
I am Malaysian chinese and this video is really useful to practice my listening skills 🥹🥹 I learnt three languages including english, mandarin and malay, I can speak some hokkien and now I need to learn cantonese because I am cantonese 🥹✨
I miss living in HK, thanks for the video, I need to practice listening to conversations again
YESS finally an Easy Cantonese episode in Hong Kong! Maybe for future episodes you could ask about "favourite HK foods" or "dreams/aspirations"!
Thanks for doing this! I can read and speak Mandarin as my second language and just started learning Cantonese! This is very useful as so many films are too fast and cartoons aren't that much fun for adults to watch!
Im korean and I’ve married malaysian a couple of months ago. She is a cantonese speaker so Im trying to learn how to speak and understand thanks for a video
my left ear loved these interviews
DANG stuff got serious real fast 1:56

What a beautiful language!
i recently kind of developed more of an interest in cantonese, and this really helped! thank you.
Really useful videos for someone like me who is learning Cantonese. Thanks for making them.
I live in South Korea, I don't speak Cantonese. But I'm studying Cantonese to visit Hong Kong (擁抱韓國人和香港人) 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇭🇰🇭🇰
I love the three line-subtitles. They are very helpful!
I’m an ABC and my Cantonese is pretty busted. My pronunciation is just fine but my vocabulary is very limited.
This channel will help greatly with that.
Thank you 🙏
Ohhh this is great. I love being able to see the Cantonese characters. Perfect features for learning thank you!
Hi
Oh great content! easy to understand for beginners and intermediate learners. Struggle with interesting materials to practice on my level and even got stuck. Please continue with more episodes!
OMG at last a video with real cantonese subtitles...Love to have Jam Caa with the Po Po. More Please (a gweilo struggling to learn because NO Cantonese subtitles in films...😊)
Recently visited Hong Kong. Lovely city. Cantonese is going strong there! 🇭🇰
Great job Calif! Hope to continue seeing more content from you!
This video made me miss HK!!
Hong Kong is such a wonderful place! I would go back in a heart beat if I could! 我好掛住香港!!
Of course wonderful for those who are wealthy but the ones struggling would find HK a hell hole. HK in a sense is strikingly similar to our next-door Asean neighbour Singapore.
Nice video! Love Hong Kong and hope to see more of these videos to improve my Cantonese !
終於等到有Easy Cantonese in Hong Kong, 支持!
amazing video
this language is beyond
beyond (band)... speaks this language?
Yes. And the band's songs are sung in Cantonese.
i felt in love with this language .. wish me luck with learning
Good way to teach people who wants to study Cantonese, this helps me to improve my way to teach, thanks.
Great video! Thanks for making it!
As a hong konger ,I still find It's interesting to watch!
Hong Kong is magical city it mixed Chinese culture and foreign. I Love Hong Kong.
I LOVE Hong Kong, cus I grew up there 😆
I love Hong Kong. Very cool
Combining the best parts of orthodox Chinese culture and Western culture, Hong Kong has formed a unique and glorious civilization of its own.
Kdo
The fact that quite a few people said the best thing is freedom - and the reality that just 4 years later, HKers are being arrested for posting on Facebook or for holding up a blank placard in protest - is really sad
are you sure it just because they were protesting and not rioting? They do more than just protest to get arrested.
@@quyenluong3705 actually they just arrested dozens of people for organizing a primary vote to select election candidates. They also arrested journalists and church leaders now. They even arrested people for Facebook posts. So no, you don't even have to protest to be arrested now.
Every second person is like: "The FOOD!" :-) So real!
Thanks for interviewing the locals, the Auntie (vendor), the white hair old lady! (This is so much more interesting than the HK entertainment industry.)
Freedom, they say
"It's free"
Not anymore.
Rip Hong Kong
But I believe HK is coming back. We are always with you, Honkongers🇭🇰✨ 加油!
Hong Kong is still 3rd freest place on earth (according to Human Freedom Index 2020, most recent data) while US is ranked 17th. People in HK still can do anything they could do before NSL, but only inciting HK independence and violent protest.

I love HK culture! It's good to see real people in the video. :D
Love from Assam, India
Watching this video nowadays it seems prophetic.
my chinese friend was trying to teach me to tell the difference between mandarin and cantonese just by ear even though I don't know anything about either and she said simply that cantonese speakers end sentences with like a long AHHHH and I didn't think it would help but I get it now hehhe
lovely HongKong, A cute language.
Thanks to load , I'll hit the VIDEO~ Heart bang bang!
0:22 HK Tram is So Great~!!!!!🤩🤩🤩
hi, I love HongKongers, I still remember 2019.That iconic ! so proud for great greneration
You have to dwell longer there to comprehend the common HK Joe or Joanne. Their attitude sucks and stinks.
Damn, it's like they saw it coming with all the politics. 6 years later and watching this and it hits hard
Hey I speak it too, Lei hao I went there before when I was young!!!😊
so sad how even in 2016 hkers were saying "I like that it's *still* free" or "I like that it's free *for the time being*". I wonder what they are doing or how they feel about it now.... :'''''(
Yep, very sad to see the situation that has transpired in Hong Kong over the past year or so.
Hong Kong is still 3rd freest place on earth (according to Human Freedom Index 2020, most recent data) while US is ranked 17th. People in HK still can do anything they could do before NSL, but only inciting HK independence and violent protest.
@@Angel-pg5jj don't be dense, you are not convincing anyone when democratically elected law makers who have been serving HK for years have to resign or some are even arrested now. the CCP destroyed HK and it is slowly but surely becoming another shitty chinese city. in 10 years time nobody will want to be there, the rich families are already moving. they will be replaced by mainlanders and eventually there will be nothing left of HK
not allowed to question the government, NSL already in some school curriculum, CCP are twisting facts for kids in HK as they are in China. Hopefully it won't work though, since HK for the time being still have access to the free internet so they know the CCP is total bullshit.
@@aaronlduff I’m just telling the truth, however if people don’t believe me, then problem is them not being able to allow new information, truth in their brain, not me telling the truth.
@@Angel-pg5jj wumao don't know what the truth is

1:45 Lol, those dudes laughing in the back. xD
It's telling that in the extended conversations, the respondents all cited the political climate as degrading in quality, yet, still cherished their freedom. Even the 'por-por' knows that only too well, having escaped to Hong Kong at the age of 13 to escape persecution.
I really don’t know how to say this in Cantonese because I’m 8 but I LOVE HK!!!!
Saya kerja di hk 4tahun saya sangat senag Dan nyaman tapi ada convit19 membuat saya ingin cepat pulang ke Indonesia

Hi there. Greetings from Brazil. Thank you guys so much for the wonderful video. Cantonese sounds really beautiful. I'd like to learn it someday, but it seems to be too difficult. Anyway keep up the great work. Romes
Thank you :)) every language is beautiful and difficult in some extent. Let me know if one day you start to learn Cantonese!
You actually think our language is beautiful! Thanks so much :) people usually say it sounds ridiculous
Kin Yuen Wong Cantonese is my mother tongue and it is fabulous :)
More Cantonese video please! No mater what the topic 😚
This is so cool!! Makes me really want to learn the language, even just a little bit.
Thank you:) may I ask what makes you want to learn Cantonese in this video?
+Calif Chong yeah, I actually am fascinated with East Asian languages and I studied Japanese in high school. I especially like the written language. Just hearing the language and seeing people speak it reminds me of all that, and even the way that translations sometimes don't fit perfectly in English, it introduces a totally different way of conceptualizing things, so I always prefer more literal translations. Thanks so much for the video! I think that a lot of people are just naturally interested in some foreign languages but don't have much exposure, which is why videos like this can be really inspiring for people who want to get started.
More easy Cantonese plleeeease!
Thank you for the captions 🙏

I like Hong Kong I am interested to learn Cantonese
That guy was a legend.
Never forget 2019🥹
1:44 😭😭😭
I like people they friendly
很有意思,very interesting!
Easy? Are you kidding? That's the best example how to make people give up. So many tones, speaking extremely fast.
Actually most people in this video are speaking quite slowly, because some of them are old and some come from abroad. Some even have to think for a while before answering.
This is the most natural speech (I'm Cantonese). I believe that applies to all other Easy * languages. You have to train your ears before you begin to understand little by little.
I lived here since 1998, the only cantonese word I've learn is this "diu lei lo mo chau hai!", try practicing this words as a greeting, you'll be mastering cantonese in no time. ;)
Advice: 100

WANNA CRY ...
Honestly as a tourist I more enjoying Hongkong than China
Hong kong and vietnam sound
hi, i want to learn Cantonese face to face .. any recommendation.. thanks
I love the granny, she's speaking facts.
1:00 Is it normal for people who go to international schools to speak Cantonese like that?
I think so. Even people who don't go to international do a lot of code-mixing. But not that frequent as the girl in the video
yes
tasingp no it really isn’t. When I went to Hong Kong to study for two years at an international school the English standard was still very poor. She just seems to be one of those people in Hong Kong that wants to be identified as a ‘foreigner’ because as you know a lot of HK people are whitewashed and worship white people... She just looks hella stupid in my opinion, just speak your language and be proud of your origins rather than put on something artificial.
Miles Chan
Or she grew up /was born abroad and came back to study therefore her vocabulary range isn't as wide
@@MCee97 Chill man. She's probably just not fluent, you can tell by her slight stutter. My cantonese is ass so I have to substitute a lot of English- doesn't mean I'm not proud of my roots.
The international student is beautiful
WOW, I was also in HK during that time and now back in Holland. Such a shame I didn't get in touch with you.
Would it be possible to get a transcription of the video? I don't know jyutping, only know yale phonetic so I couldn't read it. Love your videos.
1:44 freedom? no more la

yea it's ok to speak english there but not mandarin. what a discriminatory society. no wonder why there's no freedom anymore..

Cantonese sounds more like thai or vietnamese.
It's because Thai & Vietnam COMES FROM Chinese ancestry.
