    tendo recast is gonna fuck with the rotation but can probably be fixed through sks tiering. Though an already tight pot window becomes even tighter with just that 1 second added. Bigger problem is the meikyo change really messes with adhoc rotation. Ultimately this doesn't change what most casual play looks like for samurai, but at a higher level I'm apprehensive that this flows worse and is more restrictive/clunky by very small margins with tendo and with meikyo becoming strictly needed to be used in buff windows, maybe even needing to try to force double tendos in 2 minutes

  • @MrKynesor

    I'm kinda wondering why the heck did most other jobs get their "Press this button for 50 free gauge" into "Press this button to use 50 gauge without giving it to you" But not Samurai? I get they probably don't want you rolling up to 2 mins with 100 gauge and spending it all on Hissatsu's. But it just feels odd.

    • @vayalond7203

      Because it's like Ninki for Ninja, it's not for a burst thing only usable for that Like Hypercharge or MCH or Melee Combo of RDM but but skills to use while weaving, so only giving free use would be in fact less convenient

      It's so you don't have to press shinten 5 times every 15s, they also changed the positionals back to more potency instead of more kenki for the same reason

    • @LookItIsHope
      @LookItIsHope 3 месяца назад

      @@vayalond7203Despite that, there's still the potential to overcap with Ninja & SAM (& also Warrior, bringing it to the convo as well). I think it's an oversight if they just did it for "burst abilities" & not for abilities such as "Warrior's Infuriate" where you have to spend some gauge before you use it. Sometimes, you'll find yourself in situations, such as you not having Storm's Eye buff up, having more than 50 gauge & you have to do the whole combo before & spend it before you can use your Infuriate stacks. While it's less of a problem for SAM since you tend to just spend spend spend whenever getting your resource, it's still a potential case of "what if I'm in another pull, I have more than 50 kenki, but not buffs up & my +50 gauge skill is waiting to be used". In SAM's case, the skill that gives you 50 gauge is also an attack that you spend 50 gauge on. Why not just make it a free cast in that case or give a buff that allows using 50 kenki worth of attacks free of charge?

    • @simusar
      @simusar 3 месяца назад

      Ikishoten does more than just give 50 gauge, and since you don't enter into a "burst phase" with it, you just spend it on OGCDs, the alternative would be, what? "2 stacks of Shinten Ready"? MCH and RDM get the change because they enter into a different part of their rotation when they get to 50 gauge; It's not as easy for them to spend that gauge as it is for Ninja and Samurai.

    Thank you for the concise explanation of Tendo. So far I’ve not seen any other media tour folks include that. Openers are gonna either do Higanbana third(unlikely) or slot in a Yukikaze combo to use it second I predict

  • @FieldMarshall3
    @FieldMarshall3 3 месяца назад

    There are two things i really dont like, everything else looks good.
    1. If Shoha 1 and 2 is getting combined then why not Guren and Senei. They suffer from the exact same bloat Shoha did.
    2. We have cone attacks, circle attacks and line attacks for AOE. It makes positioning awkward. I wish they had picked one AOE type and went with it to make AOE combat more consistent.

    Not a big fan of Tsubame being bound with the use of Meikyo. There are enough cases where you might wanna use Meikyo, but not Tsubame or use Tsubame without Meikyo. This change doesn't really make sense to me, just why did they do this?

    • @Dynme
      @Dynme 3 месяца назад +2

      Okay, but the Tsubame Ready buff lasts for 30s, which should be long enough to build up to a whole nother Midare. I can't think of a scenario where you'd want to Tsubame before Meikyo, either.

    • @kunstlerischesetwas1284
      @kunstlerischesetwas1284 3 месяца назад +3

      @@Dynme Dungeons, open world, field excursion. In all these typ of contents situations can occur where you just want to use only tsubame, but not meikyo. Ill give you 3 examples i can think of right out of the top of my head.
      1. In a Dungeon you have a Trash pull at around avarage 20%. hp and you got already two sen for Tenka Goken. Since the Trash pull will die soon it would be a waste of resources to use Meikyo, since you propably wont be able to use all 3 Stacks, meanwhile It would have been totally fine to use Tsubame after Tenka since its only 1 additional gcd.
      2. In Raid Content before Downtime that lasts 30+ seconds. Maybe you are not able to use your midare before the boss gets untragetable, so you want to use your midare with Tsubame after the Downtime, which wont be possible now
      3. In field excursion zones like Bozja you might want to use Meikyo to build up stickes and resources, but you dont want to use Tsubame yet, since you want to safe it up for your lost actions.
      In general i just cant think of any advantage this change could give us. It doesn't improve the playstyle of Samurai in any way.

    • @Dynme
      @Dynme 3 месяца назад +2

      @@kunstlerischesetwas1284 1) Okay, so you save some resources for the boss fight instead of burning them on mobs that are going to die in 30s, then Meikyo is off CD anyway and you can go right into a reopener when the boss comes back. If you're talking about a situation where you Meikyo -> Midare -> Boss jumps, then learn from it and change your rotation for the fight.
      3) Okay, fates are weird.

      @@kunstlerischesetwas1284I agree with you. But I suspect the reason for the change was simply to further encourage players to do 1-2 minute windows.
      And to facilitate that without telling people they’re just designing the kit to work optimally only when used in one particular way.
      Whereas previously the kit itself didn’t have much contextual clues as to how to play it optimally.
      But that’s just my guess 🤷‍♂️

    Is Senei's potency nerfed now that it's been adjusted to 60s on the media tour version? Its Endwalker potency is nearly the same as Zanshin despite costing half the kenki which just seems odd. Also interesting that Tendo Setsugekka has a longer recast, not sure how to feel about that

    Does tsubame losing its cooldown mean that SAM doesn't need to use Hagakure anymore? I was under the impression that it was needed before so that midare and tsubame stay aligned so that you can properly use tsubame right after midare.

    i would like to ask if anything has changed in the basic rotation of the samurai?
    i know it like this:
    Hakaze -> Jinpu -> Gekko | Hakaze -> Shifu -> Kasha | Hakaze -> Yukikaze
    or were skills grouped together so that the samurai can be played in terms of skills similar to the ninja with the 3skill basic rota?
