That was so fun to watch! I love how you were totally into all of the crazy transitions in the song. You are going to have a lot of fun listening to more Zappa, there is so much great stuff that continually keeps you surprised. :)
Thanks for uploading the video bro, you should do more Frank Zappa. I recommend you to listen to: Over-nite sensation, Joe's Garage or You are what you is.
This is practically a live version. It's from a Live TV performance combined with a Guitar solo from Finland (I think) and some overdubs. They really were that great. George Duke: keyboards, Ruth Underwood: percussion, Tom Fowler Bass, George Duke vocals, keyboards and Scathing, Napoleon Murphy Brock: scathing, flute & sax, Chester Thompson: drums, Frank Zappa: composer, production, arrangements, guitars
Cuando se grabó era todo en cinta. Una parte es de la presentación en KCET (1974) y otra parte es del registro en Helsinski (yes, two different shows sincronizados gracias a la perfecta ejecución de los músicos, tempo incluído).
This entire album is Fire, every tune...! Overnight Sensation is another Fire Album... every tune. Instrumental Zappa: Try Waka-Jawaka, Big Swifty, or Black Napkins. Joe's Garage 1,2 + 3 is a 2 hour Rock Opera, played in order is a fantastic story.
Welcome to the brilliantly crazy musical universe of FRANK ZAPPA! If you want to continue your exploration of ZAPProlific, I recommend the following two compositions: - "Montana" (from the album 'Over-Nite Sensation', 1973) - "Joe's Garage" (from the album 'Joe's Garage Act I', 1979) And if you really like it to border on the twisted and the psychopathological, then don't hesitate: - "Brown Shoes Don't Make It" (from the album 'Absolutely Free', 1967) Thanks.
hey dude - cool… enjoyed the enthusiastic reaction / your genuine diggage of that tune. it’s a monster of a piece that one. that was the late-great George Duke on vocals and keys in that particular Zappa band lineup. with over 100 albums and a fully restless creative spirit there’s no “genre” that one can ‘rely’ on with this guy. this is part is why there is a visceral love/hate when in comes to Frank. that said, there are a million treasures if one has the patience, appreciation, and not too much of a thin skin. looking fwd to more my dude. nice! seanM
Here is the link for the live version of Inca Roads ruclips.net/video/wqp71DOJ3aY/видео.html - Welcome to the world of Frank Zappa. There are 129 Frank Zappa albums out, with more coming out regularly, even though he died back in 1993 from prostate cancer.
Love your reaction dude. Always interesting to see people react to Frank Zappa for the first time. Especially something spectacular and layered piece like Inca roads. But you got the vibe and open mind to dig this kind of cool. Hope more Frank will follow, thanks!
Hi, Rivaldro ~~~ This was my first exposure to your content. It was great fun !! You are such an active, involved listener~~~~ Frank Zappa provided the composition and the complexity, and also the fine guitar solo. George Duke was responsible for both the keyboard solo and the lead vocal. Ruth Underwood, who gets the "shout-out" at the end, played all the tuned percussion and "extra" drums. Amazing drums and bass by Chester Thompson and Tom Fowler. Great job, sir !! Thanks for posting ~~~
This was the first Zappa album I bought with my teenage money (15 at the time) after being introduced to the Flo & Eddie-era Mothers. I was hooked immediately. This album is a far cry from the '71 Mothers, but far superior. It remains among my all-time favorite Zappa albums. Not a bum track on the album and most of the tracks are fire 🔥Great Googly-Moogly!!
In 1969 Frank Zappa"s "Hot Rats" album was the first jazz-rock album from the rock side. (Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew", recorded at roughly the same time, was the first jazz-rock album from the jazz side.) The "Overnite Sensation/One Size Fits All" band of the mid-70s, with George Duke, Jean-Luc Ponty, etc, was the zenith of experimental jazz-rock, and imo, has never been equaled since.
The very first time that I saw Frank Zappa live was in March of 1974 in Portland Oregon and he opened the show with this song Inca Roads. To say that my 15 year old mind was most likely changed forever for the better would not be an exaggeration.
@@theneverenderreacts Any Live version and it will be amazing. Zappa plays the lead guitar and he never repeats a guitar solo, so every version you hear will be different. True for all his live songs, there will always be a different solo.
@@alldayadventures5418 If he wants to find out how far-out this song can get in concert, he can check out any of the Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar tracks from the album of the same name. Or Occam's Razor. All of them extracted from Inca Roads performances, from within the space of a month.
Loved your reaction! Zappa has an enormous and varied catalog to choose from. I rolled into Zappa some 20 years ago and still to this day listen to his music often. Hope you dive more into his music! You could consider reacting to: - the Yellow snow suite (ruclips.net/video/mpNn1nht0_8/видео.html) - Eat that question (ruclips.net/video/RonvGAZRipA/видео.html) - Montana (ruclips.net/video/DmcYTShN4Fk/видео.html) Greets from the Netherlands!
Judging from your reaction in this video...I suggest DROWNING WITCH as a song to check out by Frank Zappa. There are only a couple of songs like Inca Roads...it is very special...but Drowning Witch is in the same ballpark.
This IS live, mostly. The guitar solo was replaced and there are some overdubs. But it's basically live. Check out the video version on A Token Of His Extreme to see the band at work.
Listen to the suggestions and enjoy!..... Then, the best way to understand his music is to start with Freak Out and proceed from there. His music tells a story, and you start with chapter one. You'll discover melodies, patterns, ideas, and other quirks that carry through his music till his end. One of the greatest composers the world has ever seen. There will never be another like him, and I miss him so.
Loved your reaction, sir. This is simply a perfect piece of sound, not just music. I cannot just listen to part of it - it's all or nothing as anything less than my full attention feels like an insult to this incredible piece of art.
Enjoy your animated reactions. However, the music is too low, and your microphone is screaming, so lower your microphone. I saw Frank twice, brilliant. Overnite Sensation is one of Frank's best albums of the 62 that he made. He also had his talents involved in hundreds more. ✨️🎶✨️
@@theneverenderreacts The roots of rap goes long back. But rarely in popular music. In Frank Zappa's first album, Freak out from 1966, you have some sort of rap: "Trouble every day" (about etnic riots). You will be surprised! Another song, same album, "Who are the brain police" may be seen as pre-metal. Zappa always made his own thing, usually before anybody else.

All the seemingly random stuff isn't, it also has Zappa waving his right arm to keep time for the band (conducting really).
