As one comment said, kuai Liang is Chinese and hanzo is Japanese, and kuai liang has gone through the trouble of setting up a Japanese tea ceremony. This takes place during the modern age, so it's fair to assume, that sub zero huddled over a little laptop for a good few hours in order to search up facts about the tradition

For someone who doesn't know enough lore to make the tea party compelling, is when the Shirai Ryu founder Takeda left the Lin Kuei and went back to Japan he later died from tea poisoning years later, it wasn't confirmed if it was Lin Kuei who assassinated him but because of this, animosity between the clans grew. So Hanzo being wary of Kuai Liang's tea actually made more sense being the leader of the clan it would be risky to accept tea from your rival clans leader, the same clan who "poisoned" your clans founder.
You never know how much you can love your fellow man once you have hated him, fought with him, killed with him. For once a man shows you all his darkness, all that can be left to discover is his light. Edit: Also turning your enemy into your friend is just a chad move.

The MK11 graphics are so good, I almost forget the characters aren't actual real life people sometimes lol. Totally have a crush on Sub-Zero, Fujin and Rain.
These guys have 100% chemistry, they can hate and love each other but damn! They look good together and become stronger in fighting their common enemies.

For someone who doesn't know enough lore to make the tea party compelling, is when the Shirai Ryu founder Takeda left the Lin Kuei and went back to Japan he later died from tea poisoning years later, it wasn't confirmed if it was Lin Kuei who assassinated him but because of this, animosity between the clans grew. So Hanzo being wary of Kuai Liang's tea actually made more sense being the leader of the clan it would be risky to accept tea from your rival clans leader, the same clan who "poisoned" your clans founder.
You never know how much you can love your fellow man once you have hated him, fought with him, killed with him. For once a man shows you all his darkness, all that can be left to discover is his light.
