Today's game was literally a roller coaster of emotions. The defense had a rough outing today, but they also grew up before our eyes and gutted out the crucial stops the Gators needed to win the game. Growing pains, and today was a sweet victory. Many more to come! Go Gators!
They were held all day. Watch the highlights and you can see it plain as day and they still kept in the game. One thing for sure is Billy has these kids minds in the right place. We haven't seen that type of mentality in awhile. Under Mullen this team used to roll over down double digits.

Great game! Great "learning experience for these young men." This game was a "great victory" in that they NEVER GAVE UP! They were losing by 10 points with around only 9 minutes left in the game. But for them to "believe in each other" and stay "focused and win" was a great experience for these great young men. Go Gators!

We passed when we needed to pass. Carolina was loading the box, basically begging us to pass all game because they knew from film that we’re typically a running team. That’s what made the playcalling this game really stand out for Billy, he had to step outside his comfort zone in a lot of ways.
I have to admit that I’m not a fan of this man play calling but it was decent today still some questionable calls but overall it was decent. He mixed it up pretty well. Defense was playing on their heels. I was worried for a minute we would lose at the end of it but we pulled through. Finally another win on the road
This game could have easily gone the other way. Napier has got to come up with solid passing plays for 3rd and 4,5 and 6 and not rely on trying to pick it up on the run. Just look at the first series of the game and you could see some much better play calling. Toward the end of the game, if the 4th down didn't convert, it's over. Then, the miraculous TD pass that was a gift. Thank God we've got Smack as the kicker. That missed FG should never have been partially blocked. I think the #2 QB needs to start getting some playing time because he's a dual threat, where Mertz is not a runner. Do the wildcat formation, but make the defense wonder whether a pass could be coming. Remember the old wishbone, where the QB can keep the ball or pitch out? Defenses have trouble with that on short yardage situations. Thankfully, we got the win. Looking at the rest of schedule, I think 8-4 is doable.

I think the #2 QB needs to start getting some playing time because he's a dual threat, where Mertz is not a runner. Do the wildcat formation, but make the defense wonder whether a pass could be coming. Remember the old wishbone, where the QB can keep the ball or pitch out? Defenses have trouble with that on short yardage situations. Thankfully, we got the win. Looking at the rest of schedule, I think 8-4 is doable.
