Such managers really think "everyone is replaceable".
The last 3 jobs I left, all of them were all but begging me to stay. One even admitted to me (surprisingly) a year after I left that the department I ran "just isn't at the same level without me". (Several of his clients tried to recruit me to be their service guy so as to dump him, I refused due to contract terms prohibiting such action.)

Hearing these stories just reaffirms to me how great my boss is.

so it is true. people notice the one bad thing that you do/did but never appreciate the good things you've done.
From experience, they notice - after you switch departments or jobs. I used to be the best in my old department (not going into specifics because internet) which some of my bosses acknowledged and others didn't give a fuck about. I’ve listened to this a few times but it reminded me of a story of a terrible boss I had once. When I was 17 and still in high school (USA), I was always obviously in school full time and I also had a job after where I’d work until about 6:30-7:30 and then another job after that where I’d work until about 10-10:30. When I started the second job I told the boss I could only work until about 10 at the latest, to which she agreed. It was an exposition center and one of the shows went on till midnight. Seeing as how I was 17 and wanted to get some sleep before school the next day, I was expecting to get off at the normal time. I got moved to a register halfway through my shift and the way it was set up, my booth was one of the last to be shut down for the night. Around 9:30 ish rolls around and the cash runner is stopping by to refill my register and I ask about me being closed soon and she told me she knew nothing about it and she’d ask the boss. I hear nothing for over an hour and keep trying to get ahold of my boss but nothing. I didn’t care about this job as it was for only some extra income plus it was a horrible place to work so I was about ready to just walk out. At one point after trying to reach out constantly, she said over the walkie talkie “someone come close Matt’s drawer because he has a bed time” in such a condescending voice it pissed me off. Mind you that every other manager and person with a radio heard it and there was also a radio at every other booth for emergencies so they all heard it too. Ik looking back it’s not as bad as other stories but I was 17, tired, angry etc. to this day she’s one of the worst managers I ever had.
R/slash: Duhhh

I have one-I was 16 working at McDonalds. My boyfriend was built, rode a motorcycle and looked like he ate glass for lunch. I’ve always had a great work ethic and more than willing to cover, stay late, whatever was needed. One day right as lunch rush is beginning my boss, Warren, decided it would be a great time to dress me down in front of 75+ customers and all of my coworkers, for some imaginary slight or undone task. At that point I had had it with him being abusive to me. I closed my drawer clocked out and started to walk out when all but two other workers quit on the spot with me. He was left with two incompetents and himself. He followed me out demanding I come back. My boyfriend was sitting there already on his bike. He was coming for lunch. Till this day I “kind of” feel bad but Warren holding the bag-the burgers, fries, machines, demands, needs and orders was just a beautiful sight to behold. And better yet when ten other workers quit with me!! You reap what you sow, Warren!!
When I started the video, I had the speed at 2x... Basically I was freaking out for about 10 seconds and then realized it..

If you are in the US, remember that companies are REQUIRED to pay overtime to hourly employees. This is backed by state AND federal law. Sure, there are hoops to jump through to file a complaint, BUT the penalties they face for violations are STIFF.

oh boy, I have one for you. so I used to work at fast food company in march 2018. I worked there for at least 6 months and I enjoyed it. I would bike or walk to work everyday(I worked the opening shift from 5 or 6am till 2 or 3pm) and help out where ever was needed. The distance of travel was 4 miles. I even loved my job so much I would stay TILL CLOSING for free on my own time just to help them out. I never expected my manager to pay me for those times. when I say I loved my job, I LOVED MY JOB. I came in whenever they needed me, I occasionally covered shifts, came in early and stayed late. I wanted to learn as much as I could from my job. One day my manager called me into her office to ask me if I could cover a shift for a morning coworker on my day off. She pressured me into saying yes, so I said yes. Now the rule for calling off is you have to call off 4-6 hours ahead of time. this next shift that I agreed to didn't start till 6 am the next morning. at about 10pm that night, I texted my manager saying I needed the next day off and I couldn't cover the shift. she said it was fine and that she would find someone else. the next morning I woke up to 3 missed calls and 2 or 3 voice messages. I had been fired. I asked my manager what I had done that was so horrible that she had to fire me. ON MY DAY OFF. She blamed it on the owner, but eventually accidently confessed and said I pissed her off by not covering the shift so she fired me. Now here comes karma to the rescue. a few months prior I began looking for a second job to help out around the house so on and so forth. I let my co workers know as well. I had this sense I wasn't gonna be there past September. Keep in mind, all my coworkers had a strong relationship with one another and I was the one holding them together. Can you see where this is going? when my manager fired me, 85% of the store quit. Only the baker, my manger, the disgruntled jerk who kissed her ass(ill be posting that story here in the comments next), and 1 supervisor stayed. and that baker just told me she quit a couple weeks ago as well.
Now now dont leave me hanging 😂

My manager story. 3 years ago
I had a manager that tried to make me work on the weekends that I was off I think he was the manger for the area I worked in ( I’m perfectly fine working on weekends as long as I get paid )
And if I did work the weekend He said I would get overtime but I don’t think he wanted to pay me. ( I think he disliked me for some reason )
I worked all of April I think 🤔
One day I happened to see the owner of the company and then I asked if working on weekends would give me overtime.
The conversation went like this.
Me: hello mr owner can I ask you something.
Owner: sure what is it.
Me: dose working on weekends give me overtime?
Owner: yeah
Me: ok I worked everyday last month and I don’t think I was paid for it.
Owner: ok I’ll look into it.
Apparently this happened to me and three other workers.
I guess the owner asked the people that worked on the weekends to make sure we weren’t making it up and thankfully they didn’t forget about me coming in to help out.
In the end I don’t know what happened to the manager but me and the other workers got paid and we were all happy.
Ask me questions if you want I’ll try to answer them.
If YT let’s me know
So he was fired I assume? Payment is federal law.
damn, he got triple reversed
Nobody:
Manager: You start at 7 you finish at 7

Us in aus get this at night. Still better then sleeping

So I had this one boss.... *Long story incoming!* For some background I took this job working "7am-5pm" day one I show up at 7. Boss ask why I got there at 7 saying they needed me there at 6.. I showed him my paperwork and the job posting I had applied for. He said well I know you start at 7 but we really need you here at 6. Happy to have a job i started showing up at 6. A few extra hours a week is just some extra money i thought. I ended up getting promoted in only about 3 weeks to shipping. The old shipper came in at 7 and left at 5 every single day so I was very happy that this promotion would get me my promised hours back. Sadly my boss gave me no pay raise "because I was so new to the company" but promised me an $8 raise when my 1 year came around. *Remember that part* it comes back around. So I take my new position and start coming at 7. Boss ask why I'm not coming in at 6 anymore. I explain but ultimately they just "really needed me there at 6" So I went in at 6. On top of this UPS drop was contractually obligated to deliver to us before 10am but always ALWAYS delivered more so around 4 or 5 (that's when my shift ends) and I would have to stay for another 2-3 hours every single day processing the late shipments. (I understand this may happen sometimes. But every single day!?!? I asked one of my co workers who'd been there for years how can we get UPS to deliver when they are supposed to (if ups drops late we dont pay them shipping btw) that employee told me that our manager needs to call them. This happens all the time and in the past the manager would call ups and they would deliver on time for a couple of months. Start dropping late again, manger called again, start dropping on time again and around and around this cycle goes. I found out via other employees this is indeed the case and our manager really shouldve called them already because I had been putting in and extra 3-4 hours a day for months now. I spoke with my manager (he didnt like confrontation) and he said "I don't want to damage our relationship with ups by complaining and plus we dont get charged if they drop late" I tell him I understand that but I hired on to a job working 7am-5pm and pretty much never worked those hours. I worked 6am-8pm pretty much daily. He said he would see what he could (and never did anything) I dealt with this for a lot longer than I should've because I knew at the end of the year my pay was going up $8 per hour and that would make all the BS and overtime worth it. About 7 months into this job my boss tells me he needs me in at 5:30 instead of 6. (I'm starting to hate my life now and my wife is getting fed up with all this crap also adding stress to both of our at home lifes) But I do it. I start at 5:30am now. Complain about ups several more times over the next few months. Boss never does anything about it. Boss ask me to come in at 5am and I outright tell him not a chance in hell and let him know just how I feel about that crap. I still start at 5:30. My 1 year is getting close now si I start reminding my boss about my raise. He keeps saying I will get it but dances around that $8 number and never confirms it again. 2 weeks before my one year I had a sit down with him. Tell him directly to tell me what raise I'm getting in two weeks. He trys like hell to dance around it but I tell him NUMBER MAN. WHATS THE NUMBER!? This fool looks me dead in the eyes and tells me "I'm sry but our head office will only let us give a 50 cent raise per year to any employee." I am pissed. After all of this 50 cents!?!? No way in hell!! I tell him 2 weeks from today I will have an 8 dollar raise and he will have called ups to fix the daily late drop issue otherwise he can consider this right now my 2 weeks notice. He kicks his boots together looking down and says "Nah man you wouldnt leave us man. You're messing around with me man. Nah man etc" I assure him I'm very serious and write it out in a letter for him to keep. 2 weeks later to the day I tell him todays the day. Pay raise and ups call before I leave or I'm not coming back. He repeats the "nah man" boot kicking thing he did before. And I assure him I'm very serious. The day comes and goes and the manager never even spoke to me again that day (trying to avoid the issue) I left there at 5 that day with all the undone shipping sitting there drive directly to the previous job I had before this one and got rehired the second I walked in. Next day went to work there. 2 months later I get a letter in the mail from my crap employer saying I was let go for no showing..... THIS STILL MAKES ME INSANELY MAD! Anyway that's my crappy boss story. This company also gave me a free voucher for a bbq sandwich for my Christmas bonus. Putting in those hours 5:30am-7 or 8pm daily and they give me a bbq sandwich. F that place.

I had just graduated from ait and was on my first guard duty in a "combat situation" training exercise. I was told by the ssg in charge to stand with my weapon pointed at each vehicle until they were cleared. Now we had flash suppressors on our rifles so there was no way someone could get hurt especially since we had no ammo, not even blanks. Well the commanding general came through when I was on duty and I did what my ssg told me to do with every vehicle that came in. I stood there with my rifle aimed right at the general. The next thing I know is that I am being dressed down by my commanding officer. He asked me why I was aiming my rifle at a three star general. I told him what I had been told to do by my SSG. Thanks SSG for being so understanding and taking the butt chewing.

1:40 I had a colleague like that. Never ever late. The one time in years she is late (totes not her fault) the owner got on her like white on rice. He never ever did that to anyone else. She asked him why later in the day. He answered she was the only one he could count on and she just let him down, he expected the rest but not her to fuck up. And gave her a nice bonus. Nobody else knew how or why but I was pretty much the only one she talked to about things.

My mom was actually a manager to a store I won't say, and she was actually one of the best managers I've heard of! She almost never took sick days, always came in when asked, took over many peoples' shifts and always made sure to give people reasonable hours, not to mention she always made sure nothing inoportant was going on on each persons days. She also dealer with the stupidest things customers did and said. (Once someone came in and had a list of things he wanted on a sandwich and on the list it said 'tomatos' XD ) Though one of her managers was rude to her.

LMAO I heard 'Bad Guy' and I thought it was an ad, so I started jamming to it and then proceeded to laugh so hard when I realize it wasn't.

The second story was actually criminal as well as beyond unprofessional. I get that you know you'll be let go, but committing corporate sabotage is incredibly illegal.
They were doing exactly what their boss wanted.
If anything the boss was guilty of corporate sabotage.
Except they were too stupid to understand what their actions would cause.
They tried explaining to their boss the difference between ticket types and they didn't listen.
That Billie insert 😂😂✌🏻 that was great
in before r/slash gets claimed for using about a second of 'Bad Guy'

Carl...
Carl, that's just evil, man. I love it.
That first story hit me for a different reason. You can plan ahead and be on time all you want, if your bus/train runs late ONE TIME, it's proof that public transport is unreliable. Not sure about the US, but where I live, most place won't give you the time of day if you travel by public transport. It's got a reputation for being horribly unreliable. If you actually plan your route properly it is (at least in my experience) as reliable as car transport. Any vehicle can break down, or get stuck in a traffic jam, and some roads are just terrible during rush hour.
My terrible boss story: Years ago I worked help desk support with 4 other techs. Three of them were decent, but the fourth was this lady who would always arrive late (10am) and stay late (well past when the clients had gone home) so that she could use the fast internet at work to do shopping (this was in the late 90s and most people had dial-up at home). I caught her a few times as I left, as did a few of my colleagues. Her odd hours increased the workload on the rest of us, so we weren't too happy, so we told out boss about it. When it came time for yearly reviews, he came to each of us to take our "statements" about the coworker, and then during her review, he said, "A said this about you, J said this about you, and P said this about you." Of course she denied it all and made up something, so she never got punished, but after that, she was horrible and abrasive to work with, and it caused a lot of conflict at the office. What an idiot that boss was.
Haha at around the nine minute mark when it played the song I was suuper confused lol
this video should be called"You're Fired!" "No... *Reverse uno card*"
