    One of the only players that looks and acts greatful for what he has. He's very well aware he won't get this treatment anywhere in the league from training staff to the fans. He has also been one of the most consistent regular season and playoff player on the team in years.

      @1967wazzy to each their own opinion however he doesn't float around all year if he is as consistent as he is. Maybe the key to his consistency is his ability to know when to turn it on and turn it off. It's a long season and no play is playing 120 percent every shift they would be burnt out by game 50.

    As a Swede myself I can wholeheartedly say that William Nylander cares... deeply... about everything! It's a Swedish trait to act like it's no big deal, not wanting to make oneself bigger then you are or the situation bigger then it is. Jantelagen! And what come's off as kind of cocky is actually quite a bit of shyness that we then mask with smiles and laughs. Just that little bit about him worrying about his dogs is quite revealing that he has the biggest heart and the same with how much he cares about Rasmus Sandin. Gotta love him!!
    He is so dangerous and unpredictable in his play and just a pure offensive talent even more then Matthews and Marner so cough up the dough he´s worthy of Toronto!

      Thanks for clarifying. I'm a lifelong Leafs fan and Nylander has probably been my favourite player to watch in the last 5 years. I've been getting some bad vibes from him lately (and toque during summer and the kinda douchey earring definitely didn't help)...I started to question whether Nylander was actually smug and only cared about money and status. But I can understand that cultural differences may play a role in his presentation. Perhaps the problem was my worsening perception of him due to the media constantly talking trash about him.

    I'm no fan of the Leafs or of any of the corpse 4, actually Tavares excluded. Matthews is now signed for $13.25M, the highest in the league. Marner when he is up in 2 years likely will get at least $12M. Tavares, also up in 2 years, will have to take a cut from $11M to, say, $8M. The 3 of them when added up will be in the $33M-$34M range. In light of that, Nylander really does deserve the $10M he reportedly is wanting. Toronto would be wise to meet his terms and extend him and keep the corpse 4 together.

    you're a little late guys on whether Mr Nylander wants to resign or move, etc.... June 30th Treliving didn't need to ask nor were there any constraints as far as any teams out there, modified NTC only kicked in. ... Maybe he's subconsciously thinking about Colorado or Edmonton??

      Matthews could have pulled a power play and asked for $15m and the leafs would have to pay it or lose him. Believe or not he took a discount.

    Dont care what anyone says but Willy is the only Toronto Maple Leaf player who gets better every season. Yeah, He can be frustrating at times but, and it is a big but. you will never replace the offense he brings. You would have to get a number one defenseman like Seth Jones or Doug Hamilton to make a swap worth the Leafs time. Not gonna get that for an unsigned Nylander,

    • @MrABN86
      @MrABN86 Год назад +2

      Seth Jones🤣? Seth Jones isn’t a top pairing d-man and if he’s getting 9.5 William should be getting atleast 12 million.

    It's like this ... we need to know if you really insist on 10 mil ... because if you do, then we probably need to trade your ass *before* the year starts, not later ... so we can get something back ... does that make sense, chief. Alright then.

      @bipolarpunt5721 if i was an athlete, i would defer starting salary demands to my agent, and not be involved in day to day discussions either. Agents are the ones with expertise on how these things work, how much higher to aim for before settling in the middle, etc.
