"Anakin...."
"Anakin is gone. I am what remains."
"... I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Anakin. For all of it."
"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker.... I did. The same way... I will DESTROY you!"
"Then my friend is truly dead. Goodbye... Darth."
One of the most emotional scenes in all of Star Wars
it gives me goosebumps every time...even with just the music on
The distortion from anakin to vader broke myself, sister and stepdad. For the first time since Rogue One we cried to Star Wars
Obiwan! .......... OBIWAN!!!!!!
Vader tried to brag as he perceived Obi-Wan as looking down at him like some sort of failed student, but in doing so gave Obi-Wan the closure he needed.
Battle of heroes was a theme about a battle which had a winner and a loser. This theme is about a battle that could never have any winners, only losers...
Holly shait😭its true
I know a lot of people wished Battle of Heroes or Duel of Fates was used instead, but I honestly think this was much better for the scene.
Agreed.
I agree. It suits it.
I heavily disagree
@@michalrojas1206
It’s about the context, battle of the heroes was there because there were more than 1 heroes fighting for the fate of an entire galaxy. This music is meant to be for an unfortunate situation, obi wan is fighting his own creation. The loving child he raised.
Also, I saw someone mention that it would not fit. This isn't a battle of heroes, it's a battle of 2 broken men which once were heroes.
2 broken men, one fighting for revenge, the other fighting for a new hope.
4:13 Vader knows he is defeated and the musical score here when he slashes his back is perfect the hoplessness of Vader in this scene is great and really got my feels
thats where i legit started tearing up
@@jackieboib I started tearing up before the fight even begun.
exactly, its meant to make you realize how truly pathetic Vader/Anakin is, his lust for power ultimately cost him everything, and at this point he is nothing more than a hollow shell of what he once was. For me, the music embodies precisely though. The first time Obi Wan didnt kill Anakin in Mustafar because it would have broken his heart to kill his brother. This second time Obi Wan didn't finish him off because he pitied him, and knew that Vader was no threat to him.
@@alive4metal731 also obi wan could have killed him right there but let him live in his hatred instead and easily could have killer him.
"I will do what I must"
he'll do what he must to reach his old friend; he still won't kill him. he never wanted to kill him, even on mustafar.
Obi-Wan: “Then my friend is truly dead.”
Luke Skywalker: “Then my father is truly dead.”
It's like poetry, it rhymes
A power Darth Vader could not protect himself from
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
4:01 When this part of the music played in the final episode, without spoiling myself, I knew a critical hit to Vader's suit was about to happen.
I know John Williams music wasn't used much but this new star wars music is starting to grow on me William Ross did amazing job With this soundtrack has so much feel in it from the beginning of the duel to the end where obi-wan says he is sorry for all of it and Anakin replies Anakin is gone I am what remains its perfect
I’ve been throughly impressed with the work of the Star Wars Disney+ series composers. Ludwig Goransson had some excellent tracks as well.
When 4:01 hits, my eyes began to water and nearly pour. This part was built very carefully into the fight, it conveyed a lot of sorrow.
"The soy is real!"- Dave Mustaine.
Embodies what Anakin has become. The music makes you think back on everything Anakin and Obi Wan went through, and the tragic sequence of events that led to this fight.
Imagine this part of the OST during the Order 66
I remember the first time I saw this part, I was cheering saying "yeah, kick his ASS!!" Then the dialogue they had afterwards tore me apart.
0:11 absolutely nails it, no more words, just good old Star Wars duels with epic music
Isn’t it the theme of when Anakin is being turned into Vader from ep 3 at the end
@@nathanjones3892 correct, it's called Anakin's Dark Deeds, it's specifically the last bit of the song. It also plays during Ahsoka's Order 66 moment.
I haven't been able to stop hearing this in my head since the since final episode got released! It is just a phenomenal piece of music and it fits this battle between these two iconic characters so well!
Hats off to everyone that was involved in making the series! I think it is a fantastic addition to the Star Wars universe!
Battle of the Heroes was between Obi Wan and Anakin. Duel of the Fates was between the Jedi dealing with the return of the Sith in Maul.
This song is between Obi Wan and Vader. I understand that everyone wanted the first song but Battle of the Heroes is etched into the fight between Obi Wan and Anakin, the clash of a fallen hero and his former master.
These 3 form our Prequel Soundtrack Holy Trinity
When the Imperial March finally does come it suddenly makes sense why it was absent earlier.
Exactly! I was wondering why they didn’t use the Imperial March throughout the whole series but now it makes so much more sense after Palpatine smacks some sense into Vader that Kenobi is not his main priority. He is just merely a distraction from pleasing his master. When the theme played, I got chills!
Dude. This ost is just ducking epic. I hope they use this in the next battlefront or Star Wars game.
I love the use of the choir @4:44. Anyone else? As much as I love the epic booming feel of duel of the fates, there's something about the use of vocals @4:44 that I've always loved hearing in a Star Wars film. It gives the scene a sort of ominous and magical feeling.
I can't put my finger on it, but something about it reminds me of Harry Potter.
Star Wars has always been described as a space opera.
3:54 Favorite part of the score! Vader just takes a barrage of stones and boulders and pushes thru and wastes no time swinging back into the duel and clashing with Obi-Wan's blade.
04:01 is just beautiful and sad at the same time
For everyone who wished for battle of heroes and duel of the fates - they're already most powerful and known pieces of starwars music, you can't just reuse them to eternity
Great series, Awsome that the original actors played these iconic parts again, the feel, the magic they bring to it, my only complaint is...... I think this story line would have made a great film entry into the saga, even if it had to be a two part film.
I just got done watching the whole thing and I thought it was great. I hated the lady that was after Obi-Wan but then, as soon as it was shown that she was one of the children and almost got killed by Anakin I felt sorry for her and I’m glad that it ended the way I did for her when she didn’t hurt Luke. I am also glad that Obi-Wan went back to see Leia.
This theme is amazing
4:01
Your strength has returned!
But the weekness still reminds!
3:30 Obi-Wan let's go of the past and remembers his purpose now using his new found hope to enhance his force abilities to lift the many boulders into the air to launch at the dark lord.
And his love for the children...
Yep and once he does, taps into a level of the force I don't think he even had before
@@crazyman7671 and that force push really knocked the living wind out of Vader
4:02 that sounds get me vibes prequel ost fight
This soundtrack reminds us that in the end, whatever power and drive Vader has, he will always be only a "Master of Evil".
4:01 was when Kenobi won
Kenobi had defeated Vader, yes... but there was no victory.
Hello, this is something I've been looking for for a while! Thanks!
Is it possible to make a version that cuts the quiet part at the end, and adds the unreleased cues into their correct places? By that I mean the little chorus at the part where there's a wide angle shot with Obi and Vader slowly coming into view at the beginning of the scene right after the one where Obi points his lightsaber forward, and then the second part is the segment where Obi fights Vader briefly before hurling rocks at him.
Hello. Thank you for the feedback. I know exactly what you mean. It really sucks when the soundtrack sometimes differs from the final product on screen. This was a quick edit I made blending the 2 duel tracks together. I’m sure it is possible if you would like.
@@FormatoFilms Ah, thanks! No pressure!
Music with a soul
"Obi-Wan?".........."OBI-WAN??????"
You thought you cold defeat me...master
Darth Vader probably killed everyone who saw the state he was in after his fight, which would have included them seeing his face
I can definitely imagine that.
Imperial Captain: "Lord Vader, are you alr... *Gets force choked*
He can survive without the helmet for a while as it’s happened before in the comics, he killed a clone who saw his face only because the clone had a very negative reaction to seeing lord Vaders face. Vader has allowed admirals to see his face when they present information to him as the importance of the information outweighs them getting a glimpse of his face or the back of his head, maybe he has a spar helmet on his personal shuttle or he just immediately flew to his palace on mustafar and got treated there
@@Capybara2240 probably. He is good at repairing himself and the record shows Vader only really kills people if it either serves a purpose, is consistent with his allegiances, or because the victim was genuinely incompetent and cost other Imperials their lives
@@ClubofInfo-Circulation yeah, he had his own personal ship taken to the planet to fight Kenobi so he probably just flew back immediately to his palace to get repaired or he has a place on his ship where he can repair his suit

I know I would've preferred battle of the heroes. But having it be a new score, matching with what's happening is way better to me.
What is the name of the soundtrack that they played during the last part of the episode 6 ? The scene Obi-Wan visits Luke & the scene Obi-Wan meets Qui Gon's force ghost ?
Saying Goodbye by William Ross
Have you come to destroy me Obi Wan. I will do what I must...... then you will die.
3:30 you can’t defeat anakin… I AM THE HIGHGROUND
The best part is missing.
When Obi-Wan re-engages Vader after pushing out the rocks.

I begun to cry at 0:12.
Have you come to destroy me Obi Wan?

It should have been “then my brother is truly dead.”

I think I actually like this music 👍
Obi Wan!!! OBi WAN!!!!!

1:32 your strenght has returned. but the weaknes, still remain.
2:03 and that is why you will always lose.
2:28 did you truly think that you could defeat me? you have failed, master.
obi-wan!
OBI-WAN!!!!!
Yes?
The main theme (00:20 to 00:55) of this fight could have become mythical music, even if it was not by John Williams. It's a pity that it is acoustically too timid and not exploited enough. It would have deserved a treatment much more commensurate with her value.
Imo the kenobi show sucked and this duel had a few problems but it was decent overall, this theme though is great and as cool as the battle of the heroes is on this fight i still think this fits better
People rag on this music but I think it's great
And that is why you will always lose!

5:48 WHY DID THEY CUT OFF THE NOTE AFTER THIS 😭😭😭😭😭
Bro 4:43😢
Vader never gave up, but anakin forced him down

the music in obi wan imo, didnt hit well, it just didnt feel very, emotional, felt like an imitation of an imitation, there were some good osts, but mostly what I heard was white noise :/
I really really wish we can redo ep 7 8 9.....it was supposed to be an epic trilogy not a mary sue marvel try hard knockoff....
Malins: Have You Come To Destroy The Sith. Skywalker?
Anakin: I Will Try *Blue Saber Ignites*
Malins: Very Well Then *Crossguard Saber Ignites And Roars Like A Beast*
Bad show, bad duel
At least the soundtrack is nice
That throwing bunch of rocks scene was cool tho however kinda looks a little inaccurate as when the rocks were being lifted it was shown to be big but when it was thrown its size got small
It's a good song but.. let's be honest, the fact that none of the iconic themes are used in this kind of sour it.
Being a bit more technical those themes "Duel of the Fates" and "Battle of Heroes" were made for specific moments, especially "Battle of Heroes" which would not have fit in the duel of Obi-Wan and Vader because in that score Anakin's theme is used a lot so I personally liked that they did not include it
The only good thing about Obi Wan. How sad that this epic duel was in such a terrible show
very excessive and bad sounding chorus. Only John Williams could have a reasonable sounding chorus like in Battle of the Heroes but Natalie Holt is an amateur and should stick to no vocal orchestra/instrumental!
Sure, the soundtrack for the Kenobi series was pretty synthetic sounding. John Williams is the maestro. This was truly a missed opportunity for a Battle of the Heroes reprise or Duel of the Fates even.
@@FormatoFilms i personally don't like duel of the fates except the instrumental version, John Williams is of course one of my favorite composers but that doesn't mean.i like every song some are overrated or even outright bad(for the sequel trilogy, Every track for original and prequels were at least decent)
@@FormatoFilms Also, i am very particular about chorus, latin singing, chants, etc in music. Usually i don't like it, and prefer voiceless music, but very rarely with talent choral can sound good. Usually it is done tastelessly and just to add generic dramatic tone to music.
This is obviously said just for attention.
If you need attention that badly then go to a counselor.
