Today on offensive breakdown, I break down NFL schemes that get covered by the likes of QB School and Brett Kollmann. That’s right, the spread offensive breakdown is seen in NFL offenses and are covered by the QB School and Brett Kollmann
Not NFL Offense, But brett kollmann breaks down NFL game film and offensives. This QB School like offensive breakdown goes deep into the NFL spread concepts and how high school football can use NFL style plays covered by brett kollmann and QB School Спорт
As someone who's watched basically every Michigan game from start to finish over the past 3 years, this stint has been such a fun offense to watch even if a lot of the concepts are considered old school or outdated. Harbaugh and Sherrone Moore brought so many unique and refreshing updates to these classic concepts that simply put, defenses couldn't handle.
It was fun to watch and what was once old is new again.
@@CoachMcKieneeded, much needed
Team 144💙
Well obviously not outdated
The offense was dogshit and almost cost them both playoff games. Leaned heavily on not turning over the ball and defense. Everyone likes the offensive cordinator bc he cried on camera
I'm a native of Tuscaloosa and bama fan. Michigan won the line of scrimmage and tremendous defense.
Thank you sir💯 the rose bowl was definitely the national title game for sure. Much respect to bama and saban, they gave us one heck of a game
I agree, the line of scrimmage was won by Michigan. I don't think football games should be boiled down to just one play but when you watch the last play of the game, the U of M defensive line pushes back every single lineman they matched up against. That poor QB didn't have much to work with. The big boys were a major factor.
Plus it's not hard to out trick a one trick pony like milroe
@@michaelmerck7576Be honest your the only one that liked your own comment lol. That kid has an arm..
You're a Michigan fan.
Jim out-coached Nick Saban in what turned out to be his final game at Alabama, in route to winning the national championship. Imagine 9 years ago someone told you that lol.
Yeah just saw the news. The Saban era is over and I don’t know how I feel about that.
Image telling someone that after the 2012 season opener!
Not so crazy. He's been around forever and they started to decline. Dynasties don't last forever. I read a few things where people were asking when is he going to retire.
I think NCAA and the bowl crew knew he was retiring so that’s another reason they put Alabama vs. U.of M and was hoping Saban would win it and go out for national championship as a win! It backfired big time!
@@mtredeker7294I think you are spot on my friend. That's what they hoped for. Literally the winner of the mich-bama game was going to win the title.
Feel like I was reliving my childhood watching this Michigan team last 3 seasons
Reminded me of the Schembechler teams...only this team didn't fail in the postseason
Cheaters should never gloat.
Thank you for a great analysis.I'm 90 years old. I've been watching Michigan since Tom Harmon and the single wing. They looked outstanding this season. I enjoyed your explanation of "trick" plays.
WAW, Tom Harmon even went to fight in WWII, and used the parachute to make wedding costume.
Is this the best Michigan team you've seen?
The 1947 Michigan team went undefeated and beat USC 49-0 in the Rose Bowl. Voted 226-119 as #1 in nation
Kudos to you BGee
Congrats BG. While I'm not 90 (but my dad is) this M team was outstanding all season long. The O was good, the D was incredible. When I look at the recruiting rating of M vs OSU and Bama the prior 4-5 years, the M coaching staff deserves heaps of praise for coaching up their talent to overcome a significant gap in talent ratings versus those two. It was a special year for Blue. Keep doing what you are doing. Health and happiness to you!
My favorite play of the UM playoff run. The last play of the Alabama game a UM DL decked a 350 lb Alabama OL almost in front of the running Qb.
Didn't just deck him, actually forced him back INTO Milroe lol.
Harbaugh did what I expected him to do 5 years ago. He previously did at Stanford (and with the 49ers), he opened up the 1980s Michigan playbook. No one sees the I formation, lead back blocking or quick hit runs anymore because as this video's coach said, everybody runs the spread. 🤣🤣🤣
Everybody is a clone, so anything different is mind boggling to them.
Go Blue!!!
He has been using the same offense with success. Do you think he will go to the NFL next year?
Great breakdown and analysis! He may go. I'm not sure what else he has to do or motivate him at Michigan. Cabinet will be a little bare next year too. That was a senior laden team. He'll be a hot commodity in the NFL, but it will depend on the situation he goes to, and what type of team they build for him. The modern player is typically more self-centered/stat centered and less team oriented. He'd succeed in a pass happy division because that old school is more effective when it's the lesser used style.
They mostly run these concepts out of the shotgun though so jj can pull and run when needed.
@@lee399 Michigan has 8 seniors, it is not an old team, the defense returns probably 8 starters and they played something like 22 guys on that side a game, I think defense will be better. If jj comes back they are a top 3 team until proven otherwise, I would put them with Georgia and Texas.
Coach Harbaugh is staying in Ann Arbor for his family, and to run the football dynasty he has built at his alma mater.
He has Buckeyes crying and confused, and they know it in Columbus. That alone brings a great joy and satisfaction that only fellow Wolverines might understand.
And maybe to thumb his nose at the NCAA and other haters a little bit, because he’s human and no one likes being labeled ‘weird’ and ‘incapable.’
Go Blue!
How did Michigan win a Natty with just (3) Five Star players. Two words. True Love. Love of Team. Love of tradition. & LOVE for each other. True LOVE can empower you to do anything. Go Blue. God bless Coach!!
5 star players are nice but football players are better.
Connor Stallions!

Coach loved his players so much he didnt trust them to win without cheating.😂
UM and their fans are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo in denial.😂
Alabama had two problems on their hands on that play with Edwards throwing back to McCarthy. He is also a threat to sling that ball down the field and has done it before.
As soon as he pulled up, they had some quick decisions to make and after he threw back to McCarthy a guy that’s a serious run threat, has the ball in his hands again.
I understand that Alabama defender moving back up toward McCarthy because at that point I’m sure he thought it was a designed run.
I am a long time Michigan fan, two-time grad and season ticketholder. I greatly enjoyed this video and your analysis of the films! Thank You! Go Blue!
Sherrone Moore needs more credit
You’re right. He’s been amazing this year.
Big Michigan fan here, but I disagree. As far as I’m concerned he took a top QB & turned him into just a game manager with the result being a lot closer games than they should have been. Here’s my point until the Penn State game JJ was a legitimate Heisman candidate. He would get out their & sling the ball dead on with confidence. After that second half of the Penn State game , the Michigan coaches turned this Contest into a close game . From there on out they just changed him into a game manager instead of a great QB that he was !
@@tedszweb5268one thing that you are missing (and this has been confirmed by JJ, Sherrone and Harbaugh) is that JJ was injured for much of that time. They couldn’t rely on his deep throwing game, so they had to improvise. Also, they wanted to hide his injury so that they could open up the running game. You should listen to a couple of their interviews from around the rose bowl.
@@tedszweb5268 JJ wouldn't have been able to finish the game if they kept trying to throw the ball on PSU. Yeah he was 7/8 but he got sacked once or twice and was limping by the third series. Barnhart moving inside after Zinter went down worked out for the best because he was dicey at pass blocking out there on the edge. PSU's DEs were teeing off on him and being in a deafening Beaver Stadium made it even worse.
Winning with a low score beats losing with a high score.@@tedszweb5268
that jump cut in the backfield was phenomenal as well. nobody jump cuts like Blake. He was doing it all last year for big gainers, finally got it back this year after the injury in ‘22. The subtle step to the right got #6 jumping out of his shoes when he makes the cut and he can’t keep up. Duo mixed with Blake’s jump cut is absolutely deadly.
Moore and Harbaugh scheme up some amazing stuff. Blake Corum has mastered the nuances of the RB position.
Bahahahaha
I feel luckily as a Michigan fan, getting to watch my favorite style of football, because I’ve watched Michigan over the years, and I’ve seen them trying to change styles and schemes, and these last 3 seasons have been my favorite style of football!
You won’t feel so lucky when the sanctions hit and your program is in the dumpster.
who would have thought a great defense and a strong run game is still the blue print to win a National Championships.
It works as long as line play is elite
WOW, awesome break down. I love watching football but the game moves way to fast for me to see all this at actual speed. Coming back and having quality break downs on how each play is broken down and ran is simply awesome. Easy choice here, liked and subscribed, send more of these types of videos.
Haters will say it’s all sign stealing. This video is a great glimpse at the genius coaching of Harbaugh and host staff. Thanks for such a great in-depth vid!
So great he had to cheat.
UM should erect a Conor Stalions statue on campus. Then hire Lance Armstrong as athletic director 😂
It’s ok, payday is coming.

GO BLUE!!!! National Champs, ended the four team playoffs.
An instant classic.
Great job by JJ for saving the trick play against Bama. He showed some real athleticism on that play.
Great podcast. You explained these tricks very well.
Thanks man! And thanks for watching.
Great stuff! One small thing, when you are talking about the "new player" in that formation around the 11 minute mark... That's not a WR, that's a QB named Orji. They ran variations of this play in the Playoffs, as well.
Everyone’s gunna hate on the winners, that’s why everyone claims they cheated yet they didn’t. They won outright baby! Let’s run it back!
Haters going to hate.
If you think the cheating issue is about football you missed the point.
@@user-mw8hw4vw6v the point is Michigan is national champs baby!

Im a Buckeye and if they won a championship after cheating for 3 years I wouldnt be jumping up and down.
When Tresselgate was exposed I knew right away he was gone. We didnt rally around our coach. He lied and suffered the consequences.
Apparently at UM cheating is acceptable. Enjoy your tainted title.
@@johndef5075 what’s it like knowing day hired two family members to steal signs.. it’s not cheating it’s part of the game to get ahead get over it, I remember studying signals in college like did you even play football
Nice analysis. @ 11:15 that’s Alex Orgi the QB2 not the WR. 〽️🏈😎
Michigan used this crazy tactic where they planned on scoring more points than their opponent Mind blowing!
You need an Ivy league education to figure it out 🤣
Kicking the other teams butt at the line of scrimmage is a tried and trusted approach to winning football games.
Never been on you channel before! Great breakdown and insight. Thank you Coach
40-3 the last three seasons, 3x Big Ten championships, 3x wins over Ohio State, and 1 National Championship.
What an unbelievable stretch for a program that never recruits at the highest level. It’s amazing what the coaching staff can consistently do with less talent on paper.
It is unbelievable. Only happened by cheating. You guys sucked before that.
OSU broke Jims brain. What a disgusting blight on college football😂

Good to see you posting again coach!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or is the word Actual, actually used, like 3 times a minute, in this actual video?
Despite the actual use of the word actually, used so many times, I actually enjoyed the insights of this video.
Thanks.
Some amazing commentary and breakdowns - I love when you break out the yellow sharpie - Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome description of the plays, ty
Great explanation on this complex, yet simplistic and effective offensive concept
Thanks man!
I love your breakdown of the offense. I'd really be interested in you breaking down how the U of M defense played in the 1st quarter of a game and then showing how they made adjustments in the 3rd quarter. Your breakdowns of an offensive are great, keep it up.
Been a fan since my cousin played at michigan! Nice breakdowns of plays awesome work! 😎👍
Great great video about
Grey great team
TY for sharing
Someone has to tell him....
A few of the plays you've shown are from the 2022 season. Also, Harbaugh was suspended for the osu, Maryland, and Psu game, so he was not calling those plays.
Either way, it was a great breakdown!
GO BLUE 〽️
I think the point is that he's been using these plays the last few years and this is the year they all paid off. And even if he's not the one calling them, he's still responsible for having those plays in the playbook. He might not have been coaching in those games but he was still at practice every week working on the game plan.
Their best trick was someone convincing Steve Sarkesian to be an idiot and not run the ball down Washingtons throat. Texas choking against Wash basically guarunteed a Mich trophy. Wash can't stop the run but Texas has elite run stopping. I was really hoping to see that Mich run vs Texas front 7 battle.
He was never in danger of losing his job. Never, ever, ever.
Did I say he was? Or are you just saying?
@@CoachMcKie No, you didn't, but I was responding to someone else who did.
Because UM is so desperate to win they accept a cheating coach. Actually embrace him.
UM fans are slimy.
Great breakdown
Thanks for that deep explanation , with the best wishes from Germany
Glad it was helpful!
Commenting as one who rarely watches football, my usual reaction to the plays is “Huh? What happened?” So I don’t watch because I don’t enjoy. This presentation has been excellent, making❤ ❤it a joy to watch more than once. My thumb is standing tall.
He did the same as he did at Stanford. He built a winning program. That is a program, not a winning year or two filled with individual outstanding performers. That is VERY hard to do. Stanford was then able to take that program and culture to winning season for years. He's done the same for Michigan and now can move on which is what he wanted to do.
Friendly agree about the Jake Swept I really don't understand why mold teams are not running that oh well. Glad to see you back
3:00 that receiver block makes it happen. His db is flat but the crossing defender is the threat to pickup
Great video.
Thank you
The way to defend that jet sweep is to bring a safety in closer to the LOS (if you don't have a very mobile LB) to spy the WR like you would with a QB who can beat you with his legs.
Michigan did need trickery to win. They were superior in almost every way. ESPECIALLY their defense.
As far as running the ball? That's been Michigan's 'bread & butter' for generations.
Coach is back
Harbaugh is so good at using his backup QB's to trick the defense, did the same thing when JJ was a backup
I could watch these all day!
Why "play Chess when everyone is playing Checkers"? When you could DISGUISE Chess as Checkers, while everyone plays Checkers, ...and REALLY mess with their heads! 😂
Yep. I love the cat and mouse of everything. One of the many reasons why football is amazing.

FYI number 10, playing qb that you called a wideout is our freak of nature qb Alex orji.
hmmm... no mention of JJ not playing in the 4th quarter for the first 5-6 games.
Interesting break-down of the magical season of Michigan football.
How many plays coach are regularly in a air raid formation. For example trips to the right how many plays? Then how my in a whole offense?
So it's these types of offensive schemes that allow Michigan to overcome its huge recruiting disadvantage over Alabama.
Yes it was.
thanks

Just like old school option football is harder to defend it
Yes it is.
That Purdue game was last year. Schoonmaker is in the NFL.

6! 5! GoBlue
Is that a stolen sign or something?😅
Michigan won with a top 10 all time defense and old school smash mouth football
Duo is called that because it a double team on the defensive line
They just kept getting better and better ever since Jim came to town we wanted to fire him 4 years ago now we are begging him to stay if it was up to me i would of had him a 10 year deal 5 years ago now we are just going to watch him leave
Tennessee Vol fan's view here :
A./ Harbaugh runs a great program, and I don't believe a guy of his character would have working knowledge of any type cheating.
B./ UM is a class academic as well as athletic University. ( I lived in Royal Oak, Mi. and knew families with UM kids)
C./ I'm not convinced the "excessive" video could be put to good use. How the he** do you see a signal and then relay it fast enough for your side to make the proper line-up ? You would need real-time video helmets ( which we really don't have yet).
> Alabama was inconsistent this year on both sides of the ball, and Georgia picked a terrible time to play their worst game.
> Michigan was more consistent, even missing Harbaugh they played great.
> Michigan strength, depth, and better team leadership ( JJ and Blake are studs !! ) outplayed Washington.
Rule #1 in football: Never say you are sorry to Ohio State Fans.
Everything comes Full circle. We Doing huddles again. Lol
Well, I hope we (The Chargers) do get Harbaugh because our defence looked confused all season long and that wasn't even on trick plays!
Decent analysis...

Speaking of " tricks" . The home team Michigan against the visitors. The entire O line wears white gloves. Simple and small. But very consistent
What does that signal?
@johndef5075 harder for the refs to see holding cuz the gloves match the white jerseys of the other team. Not saying they hold all the time. Its a smart thing to do I think.
@@48shadesofj Yep, I think Kelce was saying on his podcast that O-lines love to wear red gloves when they play at the chiefs. Lots of teams are doing that these days.
Tricks indeed. Harbaugh was suspended for cheating which immediately puts an asterisk * next to Michigan's entire season.
Blake Corum has the best jump cut in football since Reggie Bush, that combined with his vision is unreal.

On that sweep the defensive end didn’t do his job of containing a runner.
Go Blue
If you watch games you’ll see officials (nfl) stopping ‘play’ - which is like a time out - to ‘review’ bs (note advantage Dolphins and Rams)
Got to make sure they get the call right
There is a Little Giants chance for a D2 win. Like the first second and third team getting covid at the same time. They might have a chance then. Or Michigan just does not take them serious, when the D2 is actually a serious team. Most important is they have a very good line. You don't run unless they are. That's the measure.
And then hightail it out of town for LA
“Ex-specially”
