      Its not the council, its the government who will not provide the funding to do anything. Also, the whole Marrams area is actually in private ownership.

    Hi another great video, many thanks, the metal cages full of rocks are made in Leeds by Hesco, it is called Hesco bastion, very good at making walls, in fact a lot got shipped to Iraq to make defences for the military bases, it is a good idea as it just pulls out and makes boxes that can be filled with rocks etc. take care.

      @MrJohn768 6 месяцев назад +4

      Thanks for that information, Antony, I was looking at a house for sale that had those cages made into a retaining wall in the garden, and I was wondering if they would do a good job. The only time I had ever seen them before was in a photo of the collapsed Gt Yarmouth to Norwich train line when EDP was saying they had rusted and given way. They must have been an inferior make.

      Hi there , yes the cages work the just need to be welded shut . Glad you’re enjoying the content.

    • @WFAEXPLOREWITHME
      @WFAEXPLOREWITHME  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there , I think the cages are made of stainless steel at Hemsby so should not rust , if they were welded together they would hold up fairly well I think .

      Thank you...the garden I was looking at is very steep...the cages are holding back what is,in effect, a hill. If the gabions didn't work I would have a beautiful landscaped fitted kitchen!! Regards J

    They need to keep on top of that cleanup God forbid the first time a child gets hurt. The proverbial crap will hit the fan. The beach will be closed around any danger areas and then Hemsby once it gets out in News people will probably not want to go half the reason for going to the seaside to enjoy the beach

    I really feel sorry for the tenants of the homes which are being quickly lost to the sea but nobody anywhere including Hemsby themselves. Have done anything at all until just recently to try to stop the erosion. People have been holidaying here since the 1930s just think how good is sea defence? They could’ve had if they’re done, a moderate amount at a time over so many years and then kept upgrading it and adding to it but they all did nothing. Hemsby blame the main council at great Yarmouth great Yarmouth say they’re not responsible for the upkeep because some of it is private land where a lot of these properties were on, the private landowner doesn’t give it to hoots and has done nothing. It’s just a very sad state of affairs and most importantly the local council has Gotta keep on top of keeping this beach safe once it gets a reputation for being a complete crap hole with dangerous pieces of metal sharp objects and the beaches then closed after, common sense or even worse an accident with a child the whole of the area will suffer very sad

    the government could spend millions by building a large reinforced concrete sea defence wall right accross this coast, esp in the most vulnerable points & it would be money well spent, but they wont, cos the gov would rather spend or give money to other countries or to some sort of useless cause that none of us will ever be interested in, or benifit from & if this had happend in victorian times. They would,ve prob built a huge stone wall to protect the coast & would,ve more than likely stood the test of time with little to no maintenance, cos everything they built was much more over enginerd & built to last, but them people are long gone & we are left with a load of clowns that haven,t a clue how to do anything & are only interested in making huge proffits & lining their own pockets

    Much appreciated for all your effort and hard work
    you've done a great coverage
    but as all the coast line around that area is all soft sand I suppose the land erosion is inevitable and totally accelerated
    due to more and more frequent severe storms and its all sand and not granite !!! It all so very tragic and sad and very very depressing for all the residents who've lost everything
