Don’t watch Scottish football, don’t have any intention to but I still enjoy watching this channel as it gives me an idea of what Scottish football and Scotland as a whole is
Nice thanks, glad I can raise a bit of awareness for the game up here. Want to make more videos across the whole of the UK (and world) once restrictions are lifted! Cheers for watching
All right mate, I’m the exact same, im a young buffs fan and play for a youth team in the club, I train and play matches at the home of Kilwinning Rangers, and where you went afterwards.
Pop down the road and Visit Irvine Meadow, Junior Cup Winners in 1973 after three epic games against Cambuslang Rangers, all played at Hampden Park. Went to all three games with my Dad, great memories.
Another great video! You should visit the old Tsrff Rovers ground in Kirkcowan. An old non-league senior team (1874 - 2003). Great story, one of the most remote grounds you'll find, in one of the smallest remote villages but with some giant killing stories. Would have been one of the oldest football clubs in the world had they still been around today.
Ha I remember a Scottish cup tie wi Annan - the bar still had the meat hooks hanging from the ceiling. A big fight broke out & an Annan fan was ejected.
Hey man just wanna say thanks for the vids. I'm moving upto to Scotland in a few months and am now even more excited for football returning. Great job!
Another very informative video. Your one on Ayr & Kilmarnock was extra interesting to me because I am an Ayr supporter. When things return to normal it would be great if you could do a video on Futsal too. There’s a league in Glasgow that you could go along & see some games, highlight it to your audience. Obviously this is all on hold until the world opens back up. Continue bringing us great content.
Absolutely brilliant video's dude. So well thought out and produced. Please please do more extinct football clubs it's such a great link to the past as football is one of the few things that has traversed the decades and still brings communities together. Fantastic stuff!!
Been following you for a while now love the videos and the effort also love that you've done kilwinninh consider I like basically next door to the new park and round the corner from the old!
Another great video Sam. Are you able to research to find out who owns these parcels of land and if there are any future development plans? Would love to see a video in the future of one of these pitches restored and in use. Keep up the great work and get a cap for those high wind hair days brother.
If your ever in my hometown of aberdeen you might want to check out an abandoned stadium that belonged to parkvale fc, they where a junior team that played in the northeast junior league. Its just something you might want to check out
Love watching these videos about old football grounds. I lived in Scotland and love the junior game. Please visit Carmuirs Park, Camelon near Falkirk. Downloaded One Football app, very good
"Unplayable pitch"? I've played on worse in my time. Kilwinning have begun seniour football in the West of Scotland Premier League which would mean they are one of the stronger teams in that region having finished runners up in their last junior league season. so you would expect them to make a strong challenge for promotion to the Lowland League. It is hard to judge how teams will fair after a long layoff with little competition football being played at that level. You need to invest in a microphone cover to cut out some of the wind noise.
Would be interesting to see old abandoned Scottish football stadiums that weren't sold off for Supermarkets or Housing. I have always wondered what happened to the original Bayview (East Fife ground) in Methil
Just a field with 2 random dugouts and 2 rows of terracing...the local council should cut the grass and put a football pitch back there. Another cool video
You should consider doing a video on the old junior leagues and the now new semi professional leagues. Visiting (or re-visiting) grounds like Talbot, Medda (Vics too as there is a local town rivalry there), Hurlford, Beith, Pollock... the old junior leagues and those teams have plenty of history. A unique system that has more or less died off, unfortunately. Very popular leagues with some well supported teams, and some perhaps not as well supported in decent numbers but still you can tell the passion requires no large fan base. I wish it was kept.
@@1869kilmarnockfc1 I've heard people that believe in the junior/senior impenetrable barrier and glass ceilings still exist but I've never actually met one until now 🦕 It's just a shame that even the staunchest junior clubs didn't agree with you and left for the pyramid.
Brilliant that your making videos about teams in the Junior leagues and giving them some much needed publicity Sam. Which Junior teams are good enough to get into the SPFL? Well the obvious choice is Auchinleck Talbot, who have shown more than once in their cup runs that they're capable of beating anybody right up to championship level. Probably the size of their ground and the facilities there might hold them back though. Hope you can get down to Nithside Park in Kirkconnel at some point to make a vid about my local team, Kello Rovers.
Alan Shields Hamilton South Lanarkshire Scotland. Auchinleck Talbot Will eventually become a League club if the set up within Scottish football tays the same ppst Pandemic & I would like to think we Pollok can achieve this goal aswell but if we do it could be bad news for Queens Park as I strongly believe we could draw bigger crowds than Queens Park if we got in to the league the potential is there with the right investment. I just worry that some used to be Junior club will puch themselves to much financially to achieve the goal of getting in to the League proper. Keep up the good work Sam & take care.
Superb video yet again Sam, and don't apologise for the wind, though you probably shouldn't have had that curry last night🤣 Here's a link to my pal Eddie Gemmell's Ayrshire Film Co's 'Fitba Shorts' which covered Ayrshire juniors until the lockdown, this was a junior cup game at Abbey park from 2017, it's hard to believe thats where you were today. ruclips.net/video/qByLTuNCBe0/видео.html
