True. Even faced with evidence they were wrong instead of admitting it, they'd rather find an excuse or explanation to keep going. Ego. And all without any thought as to God knowing they were being such a way. Who is to say these are angels, or that this God? Or that this isn't work of evil using judgement as an excuse. Certainly, for all he did the one deserved judgement, but does that make it all true? Of course not.

Koreans actually focus on writing and the content of the story while appearing to our emotional side through the characters. Then they give us pretty good special effects!? Cmon now, Korean Cinema is far beyond Hollywood cinema these days.
Korean cinema also doesn't shove political agenda down your throat. When there is political agenda, if at all, it's subtle and without villainization of an entire opposing party
Korean drama beginners(squid game) speak as if their thoughts are everything Korean dramas surprise the world.. People start to recognize Korean dramas.. This is not a fair or correct evaluation of Korean culture. To be honest, fans from various countries have been enjoying Korean dramas and movies for a long time
There's something about Korean movies and series that is so cool as a British person to watch, obviously we are used to the usual Hollywood stuff but it's so eye opening to see another culture! Love it!
Hellbound is a critique of religious power. Unexplainable things happen in this world. However, as shown in the movie lines, humans want reasons, causes, and messages. At this time, individuals or groups claim to be God's messengers, distort and monopolize the cause and message of the anomaly, and become empowered. People who have never seen God are now doing religious business in the name of God all over the world, earning money, and becoming powerful, regulating the lives of many people. This movie makes you think about it.

I’ve been watching Korean shows for many years. Let me tell you it gets better and better, definitely worth the time. My only complaint will it be having to wait for next seasons
I’ve been so excited to watch this since the first trailer. I finished the first season last night and I can honestly say I’m not disappointed at all! It is slow paced as there is a lot to take in. Some people were probably expecting an action film but this show is more than seeing big, scary monsters burn people to a crisp. This show covers humanity & the way human minds work. A thriller to say the least. Definitely worth the watch. The ending blew my mind. I did not expect that. Can’t wait for season two.
Show is not about the monsters that most people expected. It's a movie about how religions made the concept of 'hell' to manipulate people in a good or bad way. The director is trying to criticize religion but made a smart story in a way so that religious groups won't criticize it
The drama has nothing with a certain religion, but it has with a certain religious pagan which is very frantic. But like I said earlier, the pagan is just a stage prop to develop the drama, but nothing else.
According to Christinaity, every single person is born with a sin. However, the pagan shown in this drama contradicts the decree of Christianity, which means you haven't watched this drama yet and your saying bull shit. This rarefied drama just wants to tell us how inconsistent we are and how corrupt we become after being empowered.
Not exactly in terms of today's religion. I think it's more relevant in the case of ideologies. You must punish the one that is not ideologically possessed and virtuous like us. They're the enemy we're the good guys. Did it perhaps ring a bell? Mainstream real religion today is more accepting than the medieval times. This show talked about ideologues.
Koreans r so complex with stories. My first impression was “o it’s about monsters.” But it’s actually about how people REPLY to these monsters. Koreans r so smart at making these stories
Sweetome and hellbound are all based on Korean webtoons. Webtoon is an internet cartoon in Korea. I hope many people will read more webtoons. There are many good webtoons as well as dramas, movies, and kpop.

This show is amazing. That being said the amount of people saying these death angels should really exist is concerning. They were said to be slaughtering thieves. I don't think anyone deserves to be butchered like that let alone a thief. There was no exceptions made for people killing in self defense and so on either. That milkshake you stole as a teenager? Too bad for you, you're about to become a smoldering corpse according to these death angels.
Just finished watching this series. The last scene of ep. 6 showed that there will really be a S2 for this. This proved the saying, "to see is to believe", people only believe what they can see, and some people will easily take advantage of it. Good series, you can watch it in just a day. 7.5/10 for me.
Yep, this is me about to start watching everything Korean on Netflix. Great production quality, acting, stories and cinematography. I am all for it! Bring more Korean entertainment to the West and educate us!

Netflix doesn't invest for no reason According to the article information, The reason Netflix invests more in South Korea among asian countries is that Korea is a representative cultural powerhouse in Asia, and Korean culture is popular.. This is fact
@@zombeikiller2509 Yes thats true, but what he was saying was Netflix invests 50-60% of its Asian investments on Korea only. Korean movies were already great since 20 years ago, but they did not had access to Netflix hence much of western world is not aware of their existence. Thanks to Netflix, their great work is finally receiving the credit it deserves. [add on]: To people who misunderstood my point, I did not claim anywhere in my statement above that there were no korean show fans. Understand the point - the percentage % of access. 20 years ago, how many % of western world audience were aware/exposed to "My Sassy Girl" during its release? Compare that to today's Squid Game, 99% of western world is aware/ exposed to Squid Game. The difference is access.
@@aryasatya5847 I agree, but the access of western audience towards Korean movies were minimal - the keyword is access. How many % of western audience heard of the movie "My sassy girl"?
Even before Netflix, fans of Korean dramas and Korean movies have existed in many countries around the world. Korean dramas have been aired in some European countries or South America. And before Netflix, Korean dramas and Korean movie sites existed.
It's not just the distribution, but they've increased budgets and handed off creative control. A 5-6 hour high budget drama series would never have been made previously.

The director is trying to criticize religion but made a smart story in a way so that religious groups won't criticize it
Not really. The drama intends to criticize the inconsistent behaviors of humans.
@REX234 the director yeon is originally a comic writer. He made this webtoon

Korea is the new Hollywood. The quality are impeccable. My respect for Korean related entertainment media just sky rocketed this year.
"Do you really think justice can be served tru a man made law?" Daaaamn.... THIS!!!!!
I’m so happy Netflix has invested in kdramas 🥳 I’m actually REALLY excited to watch this!!
If there's a market, and there is, they should have been doing this... it's about time.
@@connectivitytissues1429 they have been doing this ... yall just didnt pay attention like at all ..
@@Daemon1995_ were they really? Like really advertising like they are now?
I agree.
@@Daemon1995_ also you do realize that I'm saying that this is a good thing because even if I hadn't been paying attention before, I'm glad they brought it to my attention now. Maybe they should invest some time into letting the public know about other foreign films as well.
Honestly, Korean movies are in fire...
Kdrama + Netflix = 👍
I,ve been a fan of kdramas and Korean movies and kpop since 2009, no one in the world apreciate the huge talent Korean industry has, so I'm glad more people can enjoy it, because Korean writers and Korean actors are the best of the world!! and if only you could watch the old kdramas were better than today!!
