Bought this recently after returning a different brand. The other brand just couldn't pull off the illusion. This Dimplex model is much better. My chief complaint about this brand and really the whole industry, is that they are simply overpriced for what they are. The 25" is priced at roughly $500 when in reality, it should maybe cost half that. Perhaps even a third of that. We'd love to have several of these, but the cost is unjustifiable and, frankly, a bit obscene on the manufacturers part. A second, more minute complaint is that you can't turn off the flames unless you have the heater on. It would be nice to someone just show glowing embers. All that being said, this brand and model does pull off a reasonable illusion of a fire.
I can't help you with pricing, but I'm glad you're finding the flames more realistic on the Revillusion. In our part of the world, this is still far less expensive than gas, to buy, install and operate. Enjoy!
