The concept of Kingdom Hearts should NOT HAVE WORKED. A Final Fantasy + Disney crossover sounds absolutely insane. And yet this franchise managed to make it work. Congratulations Kingdom Hearts.
Solid list. Kingdom Hearts is one of those fun series where you could rank the games in two separate lists, one based on story and one based on gameplay, and get totally different rankings. Trying to rank them overall, as such, really comes down to your personal takes and priorities and I think this is a very respectable effort.
Like, I won't list everything, but while Birth by Sleep clearly is the superior game gameplay-wise to 358/2 Days, I much prefer Day's pacing and character development to BBS's rather clunky and arbitrary story progression. 0.2 is a short game, but it's a really introspective experience that gets deep in the head of its main protagonist in a way that no other game in the series quite does.
And the big elephant in the room is Unchained X/Union X/Dark Road/etc. Those horrible mobile games with gatcha gameplay and a really cheap chibi art style. And yet, the plot of them, complicated as it is, is actually really engaging and interesting. There are some wild twists and turns, unique lore bombs, tragic character arcs and some epic action. If they were made in a game with gameplay and presentation as solid as KH3's, they'd be so much more breathtaking and beloved. Instead, one of the best stories in the franchise becomes the biggest contributor to the series' biggest problem - how inaccessible keeping up with the series can be. It's a darn shame.
The reason why bbs' ost is such a bop is because Yoko wasn't the only composer on the tracks in some cases... Yoko was also backed by the veteran of the SE PSP composers Takeharu ishimoto as well

Kingdom Hearts should win awards for worst titled games. 💀
Honestly the complaints about Time Travel in Kingdom Hearts get kinda dumb and annoying as time goes on because while the rules of it are a bit more detailed and complicated in as described in Dream Drop Distance, it's still not that hard to understand. Plus I don't see why people say time travel doesn't belong in Kingdom Hearts when Kingdom Hearts II literally had an entire world based on it with Timeless River. I feel like the complaints about Kingdom Hearts's overarcing story in general usually come from people just not paying enough attention to things going on, or not bothering to take a little time to research what they're confused about if they aren't able to understand it from a first playthrough, whether through reading about it online or going through multiple playthroughs of a game, as Kingdom Hearts is a game series where playing the games more than once really keeps your eyes open on repeat viewings of cutscenes for specific details.
I think people don't hate it because they don't understand it and more it was just a stupid plot point

Wel not everyone js willing to infest the time to learn it and if you need to play it multiple times to understand it and you need to looo stuf up to know then it is probaly most of the time not a great story
Most of the complaints about the plot being convoluted come from people who haven’t played all the games or from people who don’t even bother trying to understand it.

2 is objectively better than one in so many ways, BUT I really prefer the interactivity and exploration of the first game's worlds. It was an ass to figure out where to go, yes, but I think they overcompensated.
To this day I don’t think there’s a game I played more and completed more than KH2

Union X's gameplay and Gacha elements are definitely awful but as someone who experienced it through the story cutscenes uploaded to RUclips... Honestly I really enjoyed the story a *lot.* The wait each month once the New Union Leaders plot got rolling, speculating on the mystery and where things would go, having the status quo ripped out from under you every two months or so, all of it was a *wild* experience that was one hell of a ride to be on.
I'd say my Top 3 are KH2: Final Mix, KH3 and Birth by Sleep. My least favourite, sadly, is Days. It's mostly the gameplay though, I've totally come around on the story since the initial release.
See, I think there's an argument to be made for the mission based style of Days, and while it could have been executed better, the sense it gives you really puts you in Roxas's shoes. What can't be excused is the god awful user experience, between the panel system being stupidly restricting, the UI/UX not being great, and the combat as a whole feeling awful to control.
@@goldencyclone4984 Yeah I appreciate the effort that went into making KH work on a Nintendo DS, but when you have unfriendly mechanics like limited magic (and geometry that LOVES to get in the way and take the hit instead of the enemy, among other things) it's more frustrating than anything.
Part 2 is my personal favorite. The story, gameplay, and the Sephiroth battle. 👌🏽

I realize that this is a Video Game list and that gameplay should be the most important thing to a game so I understand why people would be so low on 358/2 Days, because objectively it has issues with its gameplay loop. But when it comes to an RPG, I would argue story matters a pretty hefty amount too and 'Days' has what I consider to be BY FAR the best story of the KH games. The story is well paced and Roxas, Xion, and Axel get probably the best development in the series and so overall I'd place it right around 5, behind the numbered entries and Birth By Sleep. I also don't think the combat itself is bad in 'Days,' it's just the mission structure that starts to grind after a while. I would also argue the mode where you could play as other Organization members was pretty fun too.
Unless I missed something, isn't Union X no longer playable save for the Story Mode cutscenes?
Not counting Dark Road since it is a single player standalone experience.
The most controversial of listings, most people will agree KH2 is the best but every other ranking will cause arguments

A short transition animation + sound effect would do wonders for separating each entry for the viewer. Keep it as quick as it is now but with a clear indication we are discussing the next game.

Oh, there is no doubt the creator was putting the story together as he continued the games. The story after KH2/BBS feels hollow and somewhat less impactful for me.
Just finished Dark Road and its story and character development for Xehanort and Eraqus were pretty great. Series has been on a roll since Re:Mind came out.
Transforming your Keyblade is cool, but dual wielding and even TRIPLE WIELDING Keyblades is SO much cooler.
Honestly the opposite for me. 3's formchanges have been a dream come true for me. Every since I saw Terra transform his keyblade into all that crazy shit in his boss fight, all I could think was "I wanna do that too!"

I have to say, this ranking was... sort of inconsistent? I mean, At first it looks like you ranked them based on gameplay, but then you have BBS above KH1 and KH3, and I just... sort of cringe. Like I'm sorry, that ain't it chief. KH2 being the best from a gameplay perspective is also debatable but I'd agree with it being the consensus at the least. But yeah no, BBS is a really standout misplacement on this list, I feel.
Honestly im still mad at 3 because of the whole dark aqua plot. Like they spend all these games building it up and breaking aqua down and as soon as we see dark aqua literally 10 minutes later it immediately gets resolved like what. How cool would it have been to see aqua as a sort of anti hero or something. I just feel like it was a missed opportunity
Oh boy, KH3 as a whole was a complete missed opportunity. So many worlds and plots that never amounted to anything.
The entire time I was watching this I couldn't help but have "simple plot of kingdom hearts" by NSP in the back of my mind
Sometimes I feel as though my strong dislike for time travel plots came from Dream Drop Distant where I liked it at first but over time, it slowly dawned on me how much of a bad idea that was.
I love time travel, BUT ONLY WHEN EXECUTED WELL. Kingdom Hearts is a prime example how to NOT do time travel in stories. Aka not have any rules and use time travel to escape and/or solve every problem and writing dilemma. The anime/VN Steins;Gate is an excellent example on how to do time travel WELL. Though most of the time time travel stories never work and are executed extremely poorly so why even bother especially in a series not about time travel.

I'm still debating with myself if I'd call KH3 my favorite in the franchise. I was put off by the smaller number of Disney worlds to visit, but the worlds it has are so beautiful and so detailed with different activities and mini-games within. Other titles had way more worlds but they were kind of dead and empty, and at time sketchy looking. It's better to do a few things very well than a dozen things very sketchily. Plus the gameplay was more fluent than ever. What's more my favorites have to be the Toy Story and Pirates worlds, because the former made it clear a significant portion of the developers were just really big fans of Titanfall, and I LOVE Titanfall! And the latter is...well...Pirates! Not to mention ship-to-ship combat ripped from AC4. If you're going to steal, steal from the best I guess. Not to mention Roxas returns, the guy is my second favorite character in the franchise!
It’s funny Roxas returning is why I have trouble considering KH3 one of the good ones. They did so much right with the Disney Worlds and gameplay but the actual KH story was like fan fiction level writing.

@@Kingdom850 My issue is that it throws away a lot of feelings caused by Roxas’s death just so people can go “yay, roxas is back” That’s something fan fictions do because they put fan service above a unique or thought provoking story.
I don't like some worlds because of too many mini games. There are like 50 different minigames. And the story was just bad. The original characters felt soulless and their interactions were dull and bad. I didn't enjoy sora outside of disney worlds. only thing that makes kh3 good is gameplay.
Kh 4 will have less worlds but more todo in Quadratum.story wise it could be the kh 2 of the lost Master arc

Personally I would put 0.2 one slot higher over Melody of Memory, and I keep flip flopping over whether I'd put 3 or BbS at #2.
Would have loved if KH3 had any new worlds not based on modern CG Disney/Pixar, though.
Remember when we were getting worlds based on more obscure properties like 3 Musketeers, Tron, hell even sequels like Return of Jafar!
Come on Square Enix, sure, Marvel and Star Wars would be nice, but let's have some deep cut Disney references for KH4! How about Duckberg? Sleepy Hollow? Gravity Falls? Black Couldron?

Microtransactions aside, this is such an incredible planets-aligned franchise that I am so glad we have even if I will never get into it!

This entire franchise is honestly my favourite piece of entertainment ever and I cannot wait for Missing Link and especially Kingdom Hearts 4.
KH3 is my favorite in the franchise.
1. Because the worlds actually feel like worlds. Not only do they have plenty of room for exploration, but they actually feel alive and inhabited (with the exception of Arendell and The Toy Box) as opposed to most other games where the worlds all just feel like a bunch of rooms.
2. Because it takes the best elements of KH2, KHDDD, and BBS; the dynamic and fast-paced combat, the shotlocks, and the (slightly downgraded) flowmotion, making Sora feel more evolved as a fighter, while still feeling like he has room for improvement.
3. Boss battles up the ying-yang! Getting to fight every incarnation of Xehanort and most of the KH2 organization members in one game was great and they managed to give us three decent Disney villain boss battles, something that's become a rarity since KH1.
4. Visual appeal: apart from maybe Super Smash Bros Ultimate, KH3 is, in my opinion, the most visually beautiful game to date.
The worlds feel big but there are too many mini games. I hate the Carribbean simply because of ship combat. That alone takes 2 hours. And their story is bad. As you said sora is more mobile but there issues like floatiness. Sora stays in the air too long and if you fought the data battles you will see that more than ever. Combat is good except all the formchanges that come from Disney keyblades. They are just toys. Forms like double form ate fucking cool but i think it should have less effects. I like to stop a beat and appreciate a smooth animation.

The ship combat didn't really bother me, but I can understand why some people wouldn't care for it. I understand your point about the Disney-themed Keyblades feeling like toys, but that may be what the devs were going for. For me, the form changes were part of the fun, but I really wish you had the option to turn off the attractions. Two other things I forgot to mention are being able to cycle through targets, something we should have been able to do in KH2 and getting dodge roll and scan right from the get-go. Seriously, I should not have to wait for such basic abilities.
@@realjoemavroon critical they are bad. You can turn off attractions but those toy formchanges are bad because while you are attacking you cannot cancel the attack. The ship combat is shit because on critical mode you die really fast. And is this really an argument? Non of the kh games except ddd and 0.2 had dodge roll. And you get scan literally at the start of the game by defeating twilight thorn in kh2. And you can turn off the attractions there is a pro code for that. Unless you don't have remind.
@@johnpantag472 You can block and dodge cancel attacks as long as they aren't big/magic based finishers. I have not heard of a single person dyeing to the ship combat on critical
@@johnpantag472 you can cancel speed form A.K.A blitz form attacks but no other keyblade form has what blitz form can do with canceling.blitz form keyblade is the only one with the cancel option i have seen other players doing it.
Adding Dark Road would have been a good inclusion, considering it released a few weeks ago
Honestly for me 2fm and 1fm are the best in the series, I also do think bbs is the best handheld kh game solely because of its story and solid gameplay with Aqua being my favourite to play as in that game

2 definitely reigns supreme, though I'd put Birth By Sleep below 1 and 3. I enjoyed the story and all, but the stupid Disney Town race part pissed me off enough to make me never wanna pick it up again. -_-
I'd argue the Ice Cream Beat Minigame is Worse.
I personally feel like kh3 has the best gameplay once you get enough to do. Kh2 has an issue of it being very easy to just mash drive melee combos and reflect as your main form of success with stuff like the busted magic combos the summons and limits while all in their own right being ridiculously strong all kinda not feeling as cool. Kh3 on the other hand has a similar issue when it comes to the attractions and links but I feel like there's more there with shotlocks being added and how magic is transformed with different keyblade transformations making it so you have to be at the very least paying attention to what keyblade is doing the combo during it if your trying to do some fancy shit with Dual form or Ultima Form. That and Remind's fights personally are both better and a whole lot more intersting than 2final mixes data and secret boss.(also hard as all fuck owww they hurt.)
Story wise I'm a KH fan so personally people just need to actually read and pay attention to the plot instead of just complaining about it being confusing. Especially when their trying to understand it through youtube videos not that they help. But especially through kh I feel like you just got to sit down and experience the story having someone tell you plot points and concepts doesn't really help get the point across. yes it can be dumb because SHOCKING a story where the original premise was pitched in a fucking elavator was not going to be the most super serious plot. A more cyncial part of me belives that this point the story is too confusing is just used as a way to keep the series down, as it's preverbial mole on it's face that everyone can just point at and say if your story actually made sense more people would play it, or something like that.

how I "played" kingdom heart x, union x and dark road is leaving it on auto fight for weeks at a time to level my characters up rather than cave to the micro transitions Level 99 took about a month and a week of auto fighting. Which is absurd
I would’ve been a lot more fond of Fragmentary Passage if not for how short it was. Not nearly as short as Ground Zeroes, but it still felt like a glorified tech demo for KH3.
It probably was meant to be part of KH3 at first, but maybe they needed more time to flesh things out.
Yooooooooooo didn't think Rabbid would be big on KH. 3 > 0.2 (hate all you want, it's simple and I really like it) > 2 > MoM > DDD are my top 5 tbh. There are a good number of entries which I just never finished though, either due to lack of interest or just meh gamepay.
BBS isn't an underrated game, a ton put it really high up from what I've seen.
Dissing DDD's level design tho, can't have that slander. Some of the best in the series imo (except the Bell world). Thought a lot of the bosses and the main story (not the world sub plots) were bad, but otherwise a solid game imo.
You know what would've been a better title than Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days? Kingdom Hearts Another Side Another Story. Birth By Sleep was named after Kingdom Hearts 2's secret ending. Why not name this after the first game's secret ending?

KH2 managed to make the Disney worlds feel relevant while still having their own original story and villains (withiut a confusing plot).

"My Sanctuary" is the best video game song ever made and I'm disappointed that you didn't mention it.
About a decade ago, when I started watching RUclips, I found a video of Sanctuary. Having KH2 as my favorite game, but not hearing the theme song for years, the first note flooded my brain with the most nostalgia I've ever felt. I couldn't help but close my eyes and smile through the whole thing.
To this day the only one I've finished is 358/2 Days.
I've been trying to change that, but the first game has had a lot of annoying bits so far

I think the only thing I would have changed personally is I'd put Coded/Re:Coded as worse over Union X, simply because you can't really play Coded anymore. For a long time it was lost media and while I think it was partially or entirely found by now, it was still a Japan-only mobile game, with Re:Coded just being the story... which honestly isn't that interesting and adds very little to the KH lore, bloated and confusing though it may be. Union X is accessible worldwide, even with the microtransactions, my personal grudge against it after Square accidentally deleted my account and couldn't restore it so I refused to pay another dime to their mobile department, and gacha/pay to win gimmicks. The movie of the necessary portions of it before KHIII is very entertaining, and as a prequel to the entire franchise it's oddly enlightening. That said, it was originally promised that it'd be standalone (why it's set so far back in the past) and have no bearing on the story, so for KHIII to suddenly require you to know at least part of the story of it to understand its story was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but I guess that's why 2.5/2.8 have the CGI movie with the elements you need to know from it.

UX is honestly and genuinely one of the best story experiences in the series. I don't agree with it being rock bottom because of that.
Even if the story is good, the microtransactions were extremely predatory and bogged the game down to an unplayable slog. I was there since day 1 of Unchained X, I saw that ship sink with my very own eyes.

I was also tempted to put birth by sleep at number 1, but honestly kh2 could also be number 1 as well, all of my top 3 are fantastic. kh3 is great as well but it is a bit messy, but i do love how it wrapped eveything up and resolved things.
KH3 resolved literally nothing and only introduced like 100+ new plot elements lol. The gameplay was great but the story was a trash fire. It resolved nothing. KH2 was a far better ending for the series but now it's too late since KH4 is probably going to be cancelled due to Square going under.

Aqua is out of the dark world, ventus and tera have been returned. Xion, namine, roxas and axel/lea have their own bodies. Xehanort is dead. Sora, riku and kairi are reunited on destiny island.
The only thing that's left open is who is the master of master's. And what are Pete and maleficent up to with that black box.and what the hell is xigbar upto. All of which are pretty inconsequential for big plot themes. Just stuff that they can expand in 4.

Chain of Memories is my favorite game after Kingdom Hearts 1-3. And it's criminal you reviews the GBA version. Birth by Sleep is great too. Dream Drop is pretty good. 3 I'm playing now. And I'm honestly shocked at how good it is after hearing mostly negative stuff. Yes no FF which is terrible but what it does is amazing and it's about as good as 1 and 2 which no one said. But as for 1-3 without beating 3 yet. I got to say 1 is my favorite cause of the darkness of the story, the pacing, and exploration. It's more grounded. 2 is perfect gameplay wise but some of the worlds, cough cough Mermaid, bring it down some plus over convoluted plot at first. 3 is simple. But i played the collection a few years ago so it's easier to follow anyways. I didn't play 2 properly till that collection as well. But i feel 3 would be playable with a little less knowledge. 2 wasn't lol. 3 has the best gameplay but the carnival attacks are basically op and i usually only use them for bosses. But the balancing is perfect in 2
BBS being number 2 is actually insane but you do you.
I started with 385/2 days, so my perception of the series is seriously skewed, but I think KH2 is much lower in the list for me. Days has a lot of issues that makes it a chore to play, but in my experience KH2 has just as many, just in different fields. KH3 is significantly improved gameplay-wise, but the story was a sore disappointment.
The gameplay was definitely not one of Days’s strengths, but it still has plenty going for it in other areas. One of my favorite things in it is seeing Roxas and other characters trying to make sense of the nonsense they come across in the Disney worlds. Like when Roxas and Xion wonder wether the Beast is the master of the castle or if he ate the master. 😂
What was improved in kh3? Outside of mobility there is nothing improved. Combos are good but no options and bad finishers. And formchanges have too much flare. Of course people will prefer 3 when 3 is made for casuals and kh2 is made for both casuals and try hards. I just don't like too much flashiness on combos. Formchanges are just bad except like 5.
I miss the intro and the numbers between entries. I feel lost. 😔

Big KH fan here. Most of this list is greats but I wouldn’t put KH2 at the top. For me it would be 4th. After 3 and number 1, then MoM and 1. 2 has great gameplay and story (for 3 specific sections at least), but the worlds for the most part are pain to slog through and bland to look at.
I like this video. It is both not complicated and not dirty.
Wish there was a simpler and more clean way to say that.

What's insane to me is how they got away with using PS2 assets up until the 3DS... and then again on MoM! I never see anyone mentioning this... I'm not saying reusing assets equals laziness, I just think KH really overdid it.
Anyways, I think Nomura has good ideas but he's all style over substance. The story was intriguing to me until BBS. Xehanort is a terrible villain. This series is lucky to have the charm it has, because it got silly in so many ways. Characters having so many different versions of themselves and coming back to life all the time just sound to me like something a child does while playing with toys.
Plus, I'd take a good mystery over constantly wild far fetched explanations any day. The first three games could be silly at times but the sense of mystery was there.
I can agree kh2 is the best.. I would put kh1 over 3 if it wasn’t for the gameplay.. chain of memories is my favorite tho lol

I lnownits notna popular opinion, but I couldn't disagree more about KH2 being the best. I honestly think at best it's the 3rd or 4th being challenged by KH3 and bested by BbS and KH1. Thisnis only my opinion, however.
Even though it’s one of the *2* KH games I’ve ever played as I had no access to a PS console, I absolutely agree with 358/2 Days being at the bottom. The story was interesting but good god. The gameplay was kind of shite. Younger me desperately wanted to like 358/2 Days but knew it wasn’t that fun.
Honestly, fuck the Leechgrave and the Ruler of the Sky in that game. Those two will forever be stuck in my memory as stupidly hard for no reason.
Only thing i disagree with is nomura making shit up as he goes along. He does plan ahead to a degree. Time travel Was sorta necesary considering what is coming up.
Nah kingdom hearts 358/2 day is low key the best game. Get to play as Roxas the whole time and get to play as every member of organization 13 in the side content. Plus actually has one of the more competent stories in the series.
358/2 is just bad. Bad gameplay too many missions and the progression feels awful. And xion is easily on of the worst characters ever.
I will fight for khux story wise cause i dont think its that hard to follow and you can still enjoy it without having to know anything about the other games.
How ever gameplay wise yea its not good but it was still fun at time but then bad cause gacha.
Dark road is the worse as it barely counts as a game, game play-wise and its story is nice though. Need more time with some characters but other then that its good.
Though they are merged together as the same app so i guess in the end they share "worse" kh game

I personally love overarching stories in gaming, I'm playing trails and that series is overarching, even going from multiple viewpoints.
Before watching, but KH2 is definitely gonna be the top winner here, gameplay, story, plot development, innovations, nothing since in the KH-Verse has really broken ground like this game did. Arguable one of the best games of it's genre full-stop, let alone just in it's own franchise.
Last place.....probably Re:Coded. Boring gameplay, pretty much pointless plot that just re-hashes the main story for the most part, adds VERY little to the continuity of the series.
It was better gameplay than 358/2 which definitely is the strongest contender for worst gameplay value, but damn if that game didn't do it's story right, enough to justify it being better than last simply because it's arguably one of the best written and paced plots out of all of the games (plus the most emotional, Xions death, Roxas's devolving mental state, the epilogue mission, and the new view on the Riku/Roxas fight being Riku trying to stop Roxas from effectively committing suicide in his desperation to get his life back, YES I AM BIASED ABOUT THIS GAME!). EDIT: By best written, I meant quality of pacing, plot developments etc. KH2 easily beats it in diversity, scale, spirit and extent of story, but 358/2 feels like a better told "story" overall.
Wild card would be KHX, it's toxic gatcha hell and the story drags on but it's a whole new continuity to the plot and may become more relevant later, that might save it from the bottom of the list.

My favorite Kingdom heart games is kh3. This game was the most fun out the series for me and the moment it gives for me. I honestly have kh2 is my second favorite (sometimes I feel like both 2 and 3 the same), but I still love 2 and think it's amazing. I absolutely love kingdom hearts and I can't wait for kh4. Let me say this right now it doesn't matter what your favorite and worst Kingdom Hearts game is but what matter is that we all love the same franchise and wonderful characters. Kingdom hearts 3 was definitely helped by the post launch content. Still can't believe the game launched without Critical mode lol.

@@nightsladerayx9145 I think Birth by Sleep is probably the best in terms of story but I low key really love Dream Drop Distances flow of combat... Hard question. My gut says KH2 though overall. KH3 could've been my favorite, but I think maybe because they switched engines halfway through development and the fact you needed to play the mobile game to understand what was going on that kinda made it a little lacking for me.
He wants KH to be accessible for more players, and yet Square heard this, took his viewpoint and tossed it in the garbage, and shoehorned out crappy cloud versions of the games for the Switch, minus Melody of Memory which was already natively ported.
People found ways to put the Epic Games versions on the Steam Deck through both Heroic Games Launcher and some specific tweaks and usage of a program called wine(I promise you, not the beverage), and I almost expect the reason Square won't put them on Steam as well is "but the cloud versions are passable, we worked REALLY hard on native ports but it was too much work, anyway, check out our upcoming native Switch port of fucking Nier Automata which is arguably less graphics intensive than KH3 loooooooooooool"
Once you get away from the mobile and a few of the handheld titles, you really get into something special. It further helps how many of the flawed titles have been remade, either with combat more in line with the better titles or at least compiled into a film-like experience so that fans who want to know the story can avoid playing a game that doesn't have the best gameplay.

It's fun in terms of gameplay but the story is pretty nothing even when put up against the mobile games.

@@KryptCeeper969 Kingdom Hearts was originally going to have a more simple story, but Hironobu Sakaguchi said that KH would fail unless the story was as epic as Final Fantasy. Tetsuya Nomura told his advice WAAAY too seriously.

All I wanted from this video was for Union Cross to be in last place, and I'm happy I got that. The rest of the list can be organized in aaaany way that it wants to be, but UX as a game was so infuriating, even my borderline dementia brained self will refuse to forget what a horrible, unfun, unbalanced piece of shit it was. It was horrible enough for me to take months long breaks from it at times. If the story wasn't so goddamn amazing I'd be basing half of my Twitter personality on hating it. The other half being Sly Thieves of Time.
Anyway, Re:Coded right afterwards? I'm liking this list more and more.

Oh, thank god, I’m not the only one who didn’t think 358/2 Days was fantastic. I had someone seriously threaten my life for calling it disappointing despite me also saying I still liked it.
Threats are a bit much. This fandom can suck. I personally think it's S teir but that's just because it's one of the better stories and has some of the most varied gameplay due to you being able to play as every member of organization 13.
i only watched it as the movie but the story was good, i like xion, but i've heard the gameplay is really repetitive and button mashy, even though it's really cool that you can play as some of the organisation members.

I really do not get the hype behind KH2. Yeah, it plays a bit better, but the story completely took a dump and the series has never really recovered. Top 3 for me would probably be KH1, DDD, and Melody of Memory, in that order.
As a kid I liked the story of KH2 a lot Mode then the story of KH1.
Honestly with the story getting more and more convoluted and cluttered, it has ironically only gotten harder to get into Kingdom Hearts if you're a newby.
