I love Kathy Griffin. She's a fighter. Reminds me of what the Lyndon Johnson administration did to Eartha Kitt in 1967 after she spoke out against the Vietnam war. It was 25 years before she worked in the US again. Eartha moved to Paris and had a successful career performing there and in other countries worldwide. I also remember the internet poster with Obama's head in a hangman's noose that circulated on the net for eight years and nothing happened. You go, Kathy!

However, do you understand what happened to her as a result? ----thats the point here and not sure your comment, nor my feelings makes a difference to the shocking injustice of what happened to her and many others as a result! It should be noticed and SEEN.
@Amber Phillips-Hall As a Political Science major, that is a very good description. A demagogue, is a leader in a democracy who gains popularity by exploiting prejudice and ignorance among the common people, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation.[1][2][3][4] Demagogues overturn established customs of political conduct, or promise or threaten to do so. Demagoguery exploits a fundamental flaw in democracy: because power is held by the people, it is possible for the people to give that power to someone who appeals to the lowest common denominator of a large segment of the population.[5] Demagogues usually advocate immediate, forceful action to address a national crisis while accusing moderate and thoughtful opponents of weakness or disloyalty.

The mindblowing part of Kathy's situation was that everyone knew it was a joke. Yes, a gross and shocking joke, but a joke nonetheless. It was not a real and true threat towards Trump needing the involvement of Homeland Security and the Feds. And yet our country's resources were spent on it. Why? To send a message to the American people of the president's reach should you displease him (just like in Russia, China, and Japan). For me that was unprecedented. In that moment everyone was put on notice as to what could happen to you if you used your freedom of speech. Why this gets even crazier is that Kathy was the only person to be attacked like this for what she did, even though the artist-photographer who came up with the idea and solicited Kathy was left alone. Why? Because Trump was just doing abuse of power because he never liked Kathy to begin with. They ran in similar Hollywood circles. So it was an ego thing and him getting the last laugh as to what he could do to her. A president using the power of office for a person vendetta is and should be far more shocking that what she did. And Kathy is right. She was not the first or only celebrity to demonstrate such an overt and suggestive move on the president. But all the others were men. Trump went after Kathy because she is a woman, whom he has zero respect anyway. Think about it for a while. What she did might have been a bit too far, but so was George Carlin just about every day. The bottom line it was a joke and everyone knew it; and yet it was treated like a real situation.
Unbelievable. She’s a comedian. As if she was a danger to the orange potus. Definitely an abuse of power. Remember the right wingers hanging Obama and the lifelike gun targets getting the same treatment? Me either.

@@joe6096 Of _course_ it had to do with misogyny.

And she persevered!!! Kathy is back and killing it in her own way!
YES she did
The mindblowing part of Kathy's situation was that everyone knew it was a joke.

@@garlicknot887 Exactly. The sheer amount of hypocrisy coming out of both Colbert and Griffin is disturbing, to put it mildly. He whines and complains about how much Trump is "threatening" the free press, and constantly compares him to a third world dictator, but the second a comedian as unfunny as Kathy Griffin pulls a stunt in which she receives a two month federal investigation for conspiracy to assassinate a sitting U.S. president, he doesn't so much turn a blind eye towards the situation, but also allows her to play the victim card by listening to her go "WAAAAAAAA TRUMP RUINED MY LIIIIFFFFEEEE!!!!!" How no one sees a double standard here is beyond me. If she had just apologized and ended it there, I would've forgiven her. But for her to now go on shows like Colbert's, do a complete 360, and claim that it was Trump her decimated her career, not her own stupid, dangerous stunt that did, shows what kind of a sick character she really is. Cnn runs scared of anything that rips on trump cause of all the "fake news" crap.
Yeah... Breaks my heart too that Harvey Weinstein was treated so unfairly by friends...
Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted people. I’d say that’s very different from holding a mask with ketchup in a photograph.
@@jessreallywantsitall yeah but he was so prominent in the Hollywood crowd... How could they treat him that way... His friends all turned their backs on him.
Show Bob's. Send dunes. LOL yeah Hollywood turning its back on people. Shocking.
They always string up the artists first.
Yup. Rapists are in the supreme court. A treasonous paedophile in the white house... but hey comedians can't crack jokes.
The artists and the labor activists. My family (which had a lot of left leaning labor activists and/or artistic types) That didn't flee Holland prior to the nazi regime terrorizing Europe were as far as I know killed to a man. Between luftwaffe raids, summary executions by ss/gestapo occupiers, and the camps I don't know if any of my extended family that didn't flee lived. All of my relatives that were alive and old enough to have clear recollections of and first hand information related to that time passed before I was able to ask them anything. All my grandparents and orher relattives that fled as small children would say was everyone that didn't run was either killed by the bombs or rounded up and murdered one way or another and that was that. Realizing just how easily it could happen again here no matter how much we try to tell ourselves different has been one of the hardest parts of the last few years. As much as I miss them I am grateful my Opa and Oma didn't live to see the recent times in America, the way this would have crushed them...it makes me cry just thinking about it.
Agent Fungus Wow, thanks for sharing, the polish people amaze me. They are so hardworking and kind, and it's truly inspiring to visit their communities abroad and especially Poland itself and see how they have carried on after so much tragedy and struggle. I love the general comedic sensibility as well, and oh man the food, especially the cabbage rolls and the baked goodies! Makowiec is one of my favorite things ever, so good with a bit of coffee or hot tea.:)
malimillions But she is lying about Anderson “Anderson cooper called me disgusting”
No. He never did. He said the photoshoot Kathy participated in was disgusting but he still considered her a friend. In fact Kathy herself told Howard stern that Anderson texted him multiple times last August. So which Kathy am I supposed to believe? In her cut magazine feature she says she was hurt that Anderson was publicly calling her a friend even though they were not on talking terms. And that she told him their friendship was over when he texted her multiple times trying to reach out. What is the truth? Which Kathy am I supposed to believe?
Kathy Griffin is incredible. She's so strong and so funny and so inspiring. I adore her. ❤
Hah. This aged like fine milk
I've never understood why Anderson Cooper turned his back on her. What about all those years of friendship? I don't get it.
He's made it clear. He's a disloyal piece of shit.
Are Hollywood "friendships rea"l?
well cooper has to portray a serious image due to his job, in order to do that he felt the need to get away from the "psycho"
He caved to pressure from CNN & I see it as a big mistake on his part. A VERY short sighted decision. I bet that hurt her a lot, personally even more than professionally.
It’s a personality flaw That’s what we’ve been seeing in him since Channel One We knew something wasn’t right about Anderson Cooper but we just ignored it Now we can’t
What happened to Kathy is a damned shame. It was an outright and forceful assault on the first amendment of the US constitution, but as we have seen since then, the administration of the moment cares naught for laws and rights. I love Kathy's work, and I hope I get to see her perform in person someday soon!
Kathy has more balls than most men 👍💪👏
I'd agree with that statement 100%
She has ovaries of steel!!
NO! She NEEDS serious MENTAL HELP and should have been locked up
Se does have balls, and based on her looks, has a penis too....!
Her face is balls.
I was never a big fan of Kathy but I'm happy to hear about redemption. She's earned much respect from me after this interview. Don't let the man bring you down Kathy!
She brought herself down. He didn't even have to open his mouth. What a fool!
Kathy! So proud of you! You are an inspiration 👏👏👏💖
You have very very low standards.
She’s a survivor and believes in freedom of speech. Good for her.
I've always liked Kathy Griffin. It's great to see her fight power successfully.
Ironically, she was telling the truth, and people are NOW seeing it.
good to have you back Kathy! you go girl!!!
She is a FIERCE QUEEN. I stand by her completely. WERQ HUN. WE LOVE U
You're batshit crazy also
She tried doxing a teenager lol
She's not even funny.
@@common_sense_supreme honestly funnier than u, babe
@@The-Autistic-Rat Good, they deserved it
Trump has always felt threatened by women. Mommy issues!
Eric Burton Which is why he lives out his Oedipus fantasies with whomever he can bed.
Haha
Exactly. If he can't control them by hiring them or sleeping with them he goes on the attack.
Do you think, mommy spanked Spanky not enough or too much 🤔🤔🤔
Only losers consider that "mommy issues". It's just that he experienced too many women to know what is really behind the majority.
I don't watch her, but I seriously love Kathy. And I actually liked that photo. It fits with the anger we feel toward that orange we have for a president. I'd go to a show, honestly. I still respect her, despite the picture's backlash.
Kathy Griffin is amazing!! If you enjoy the way she sees the world then you'll be entertained. If you don't enjoy her view, there are plenty of other comedians to choose from.
They threw everything they had at her and she’s still slaying it-making people laugh- all while wearing high heels.
