Rockface Village seems great in Valiant Mouse decks.
Rockface Village seems like the best of the uncommon lands in draft since it’s another repeatable Valiant enabler with a low opportunity cost.
I think it also has serious legs in standard, RDW with emberhart challenger and heartfire hero really gets serious value out of it and after a good bit of testing only producing red for creatures is almost never a problem, I plan on running 4 of them tbh, I think the card's that good in that shell and people are really sleeping on it.
I was honestly expecting three tree city to be the trap card. I think it probably has serious legs in stuff like elves but I think most of your low to the ground creature decks don’t really need the massive mana acceleration, your multicolor creature decks (like 3+) can’t run this because of colors and creatures are just much easier to interact with unlike devotion for nyxthos is.
If you are playing elves Nykthos is more efficient. Every creature is at least 1 of devotion to green, some even more. For example, Elvish archdruid count as "2" for Nykthos and "1" for Three Tree City. Same for Goblins and Merfolks. The only situation where Three Tree City is better than Nykthos is when the creature type is composed of monocolored creatures with different colors, like Soldiers or Humans or Spirits.
It's also better in token heavy decks, I suppose.
@@yggdrasil_ also tokens. Say you’ve made like 4 elf tokens off of an elvish warmaster then you’ll net a ton more mana from that nyxthos gives you. But yeah there are still plenty of times where nyxthos is better. The other reason I think it has legs in elves is that elves also have ways to use the excess mana to draw cards off of the lord they have or other mana outlets like the one on elvish warmaster. I don’t think most creatures have that really.
It seems a lot better in goblins to cast big stuff like muxus even then it’s questionable
@@DiscardatRandomi could see goblins as well but then the games where you don’t have 3 tree city is awkward with this 6 drop in your hand, IDK if you can run 4 of them. Also goblins is like…. *SUPER* pip intensive, like you got stuff like snoop and chainwhirler that are double red or triple red pipped. They aren’t really able to run any colorless utility lands as is and while I don’t think it’s a massive issue it definitely could come up.

Anyone else think it's wild that there's no bona fide dual land in this set? I love it.
Fountainport Bell is also a may, meaning late-game you can cycle it basically: play it, neglect to search, draw.
Thanks for the video! I am predicting tamble tumbler to be a sleeper in limited. At 6/6 it will block pretty much everything in this set, and for the going wide decks or food decks it'll be pretty easy to "crew" it. Also I expect a lot of board stalls, and while 3 for +1 +1 is not ideal, it is something to tip the scales in your favor as the game stalls, and technically means it can pump itself while blocking, or threaten valiant proc at no card cost.

Fountainport versus Mirrex is an interesting debate, because the fish tokens can actually block. I honestly think it will be fairly good in any deck that makes a lot of tokens, especially food, as food tokens (as compared to clues, bloods, maps, and treasures) are the ones that you really *don't* want to to sacrifice to their intrinsic ability, and are thus ideal to be thrown into the Fountain.
Yeah, I can't tell you the amount of times I wished my Mirrex tokens could protect my planeswalker when playing control
I lean towards fountainport being a trap. Costing a life is hugely costly because it puts a cap on how much value you can get out of the card. Mirrex also kills your opponent faster.

I could be wrong, but I doubt its doing anything anytime soon.
I think Just like Nykthos, Three Tree City will be a bit clunky in most decks EXCEPT that one deck that will break it in half. Not sure It's elves cause Elves already make a billion mana, maybe it's Goblins because anything that accelerates Muxus Is great. Eldrazi Is a great call because they can offset the Colorless mana well. Merfolks and Rats are a possibility as well.
I was unimpressed with starforged sword when I thought it said “gains flying” - like a meaningfully but not strictly worse skyclave hammer. “Loses flying” - woof.
Three tree city naming eldrazi is aboht to be nightmare fuel

bumble flower is also 2 artifacts for one. maybe that can matter somewhere.

I once again have to disagree with Jim on Fountainport. Like... Mono-Colored decks exist. Mono-colored decks are good. Every mono-colored deck should play this, without question, as it's completely free. Does it compete with Demolition Field? Absolutely, but also in the sense that you're going to want to run Demolition field to destroy this card. In a mono-black midrange deck, for example, you can safely run 13 swamp, 4 Sunken Citadel (also incredible with this card), 3 of this, 2 Demo Field, and 3 Mirrex and still have 17-20 black sources (depending on how you count Mirrex). Getting the card from it might be slow, but the tokens can block, and the extra card every other turn is still useful in a grind game. Super unfair to claim it's going to be a "fringe player".
It’s not free. It doesn’t tap for a color. Ergo, not free. There’s real opportunity cost putting that in a deck.
In a mono colored deck, the possibility of not having enough colored sources when you need them is so fantastically low that it’s negligible. Reducing your colored sources from (for example) 20 to 18 when your most color-intensive cost is two pips produces basically no change in your ability to cast them on curve.
