  • Can I break 90? PART Two - EVERY SHOT IN 9 MINUTES
Part one - • EVERY SHOT of an 18 Ha...
Today I am playing at Pontefract & District Golf Course in Pontefract, Yorkshire.
I have been playing golf for over a year (beginner golfer) and my golf handicap is about 18.
This is a fantastic 18 hole course and I'm looking to break 90 for the first time at this course on the channel.

Watched your front 9 and back 9 videos very enjoyable to watch. Very chill vibe and nice to see you being honest about your golf game. Gives me confidence to go out there and work on my game as well. Keep up the great content!

You’ve got a good head about your game. You’ll soon be shooting low 80s regularly and I’ll bet it won’t be long before you throw in a sub 80 round. The greens look pretty slow over there but you show a confidence in those 4-5 footers. That will take you far. Thanks for the content. It’s nice to watch someone progressing through their game. Not all you tube golfers are scratch golfers.

Thanks Don, appreciate that mate. Yeah the greens aren't the quickest, enables you to have the confidence to hit them a little firmer. 👍

Great words of wisdom at the end, it's easy to look back at a round and feel disappointed because so many shots were left on the table, but hey that's golf! Trying to achieve that "perfect round" is what keeps us coming back. 🙌

You're completely right Brandon! It's that 'I won't make those mistakes' next time mentality that keeps you hooked isn't it. Cheers mate!

Well played Luke, back 9 always gets nervy when you shoot a great score on the front 9. I’ve just subscribed, I really enjoy real golf, from similar handicapper to myself.

Marvelous front nine Luke. The back nine was a solid round of Golf as well and as you said those mistakes happen from time to time and we just need to accept those. I would say you got up and down quite well to keep a steady pace throughout the back nine. Can’t wait to see you break 80 on a regular basis, which will happen very soon at the pace you are improving. Cheers mate

Little tip with the driver mate if your always slicing. Turn your wrist slightly inward to the left to close the face of the driver. I was told to do this as when I started I used to always slice the ball and ever since I’ve added some distance to my drives and now hit a draw 👌

Lots of good stuff there. Think you summed it up perfectly at the end in that it's the silly mistakes around the green that cost you. Some great scrambling only to lose it a bit on the green. Obviously have the potential to get very close to or even under the magic 80.

Great content. I today got back out to my local track where a month ago played a 22 over par, a good one for me as my game was trending nicely at the time. Fast forward to today, a month later and only 1 round of 9 holes played since after family visiting from Europe for nearly 4 weeks, and I shot 37 over par on similar distances and conditions. It is interesting how, even at the high-handicap level, time off can really affect your round. Mostly the ball-striking suffers and a bit of feel for green speeds, however I always try to look at the good from any round I play, like you and your two front-nine birdies. The last hole for me today was a perfectly pin-high strike on the closing par-3, a near perfect chip to get me within 1 foot for par, the only one on the card. And that alone is enough to get me excited to play again soon. Funny game, golf is. Look forward to your next round

remember scoring 23 stableford points once on the front 9 in a competition when playing off an 18 handicap. The worst part was the bloody American who was marking my card wouldn't shut up. Finished with 35 points. Never constantly tell someone their score if they are doing well.

Horrible start to your back 9 and after the front 9 it gets in your head a bit and affects your game from there on after 🏌️‍♂️

Watched a couple of your videos now. You're kind of stabby with the putter. Have you thought about switching to a mallet style? They allow for an easier stroke as you can let the weight of the head do all of the work.

Congratulations on your best round. There seems to be curse when your front 9 score is really good, then the back 9 blows up. It is the opposite when the front 9 is bad, the back is better.
I think it is a mind thing and your expectations for the round get crossed.

@@UpDownGolf thanks for the reply. I putt with my fairway wood if I’m that distance and not chipping. More meat to get it through the grass and onto the green. Good luck.

Solid overall round man. One thing I noticed, your tendency to "pull" some of your shots might have to do with your shoulders being aligned left which causes your swing to go that way as well. I know some people don't want to change their swing, but consider checking out Tom Saguto's ruclips.net/video/s1J7cOahZCE/видео.html video about shoulder alignment. Keep up the great work!
