I watched this scene but then watched Scott Pilgrim vs Todd Ingram and for some reason it brought me back to this video so I thought your comment was for their fight haha
V was reborn in pain and burning and fire and hatred. Evey was reborn in pain and cleansing and water and hope. Not all pain is the same, but if you can bear it’s torment, all pain can make you stronger.
Hugo behind a mask conveying pure human emotion and Natalie’s acting like she was in genuine distress just makes me love this rebirth scene. She was V and V was she.
This scene took the move to a higher level than its political message...it shows that freedom is not breaking away from an oppressive government but it is something else entirely..it is a sheding of of all fear..then, and only then, will one be truly free!!!
internal freedom, not freedom in totality. one becomes more able to take on the external challenges with fearlessness in pursuits of attaining external, physical freedom
I love this movie scene. I understand what it represents in this film, Evie having freedom and sticking up for her beliefs with no fear and ethereal freedom inside of herself. But for my own life, I see this scene as going through the ugliness in our lives and coming out invincible and experiencing such resilience that nothing can hurt us, we are above it all. I can only hope that I can acheive Evie's level of freedom in my life. I believe one day it will be mine. I pray that one day we all can have that and make this world a better place.
As someone who’s faced their own death, this scene makes me cry my eyes out. This movie was phenomenal and this scene was perfect. Everyone who worked on this movie deserves an Oscar

the difference is in how they welcomed the wider world. V saw freedom as fire and vengeance. Evie saw freedom as a gift, divinity in every single moment. There is a reason he wanted her to serve as his successor.

After being from incarcerated, the judge granted me freedom. After so long. I had no one and this is was what i felt. It was raining that day and i stood in it. Every drop felt like freedom.
Being reborn is the most painful yet wonderful experience. You felt it one time and some only ever feel it one time in their entire life and forget it after decades of programming from this simulation we live in.
It is because pride pulls you back in, not to mention those who want to profit materially off their new-found knowledge, and those who seek power (like many so-called gurus and teachers) The tools Satan used in the desert to tempt the newly awoken Jesus. Don't be confused by kensho (a glimpse of enlightenment) and satori (full-realization...). Kensho is only Step 3 out of 10 (if using the 10 Ox Pictures...).
V... on his journey to bring hope through rage. She came to an epiphany through tears. Both carrying a Vendetta brought about by a new purpose. She continues to permeate her methods, after V’s burns out. Love this movie.
this scene hits on another lvl, a more personal lvl when u realize that he metaphorically speaks about being just another cog in this meatgrinder of a machine that is life, living programmed in a box from a day to day till u die. Its a prison of a mind and a death of a soul and a death of potential, of what every person can achieve and be. Evey is liberating herself here, the power of her essence, of unlimited possibilities of her being is shifting back into her hands. She's awakening.
Many movies are fine. Many are for entertainment in the moment. Some movies, though...some movies are incredible. Some movies have scene after memorable scene, where everything is just...perfect. To tell you the truth, I’ve read the graphic novel. I found it confusing and depressing. Yet I love this movie, it maybe different from the source material but it’s captivating and memorable.
