Nice, love that sound of the bike, especially when you open it up a bit. Look forward to seeing how it all unfolds with all the mods you are looking at. Great clip!
Col is the man! What a ripper of a bike. What your jean on that belt. 😮 It's great to see you enjoying different bikes. Happy New Year to you and your family.
I'm envious, I'd love to have an old chopper project like that. Nice one! Being one of Colin's old bikes I'd imagine it'd be really well sorted. Enjoy!
well young fella now you really did make this old girl feel so ancient. Waaayyy back in 1980 my first Harley was a 1976 xlch modified Sportster. Springer front end no front guard 21" front wheel. rear had an invader mag. cut off rear guard tombstone taillight. flat bars and forward controls and virtually unseen indicators. small speedo and manually adjustable headlight. Kick start only which had a nasty kick back too! my youth made me a bit impervious to the spinal pain but sooo much fun!. All the references to 'old school' looks etc did make me feel all my 62yrs of age tho'! 😆 congrats on your new purchase and am looking forward to see how things develop. Regards from Tas.
Gday Paul, Happy new year mate. Cool ride for the shorter trips, if it wasn't for the fact that Col built the bike you wouldn't touch one, you need to know what your doing with the old stuff... Cheers for taking us along the journey 👊😎👊
I'm tossing up weather to get another Harley, I haven't had one for years. I'm 61 with incurable cancer, so I'm a bit sick and weak just yet. An Evo is what I was thinking of getting too. I really like that bike, except for the hardtail frame. Good onya dude. I'm glad you got it 😎
Riding a hardtail is MUCH easier if you get an 8" wheelbarrow inner tube, inflate to about half, then put its center directly under your tailbone. It cushions the bumps and is hardly seen.
Well now, I don't know if it is a bad call or not getting and ol' EVO on a hardtail frame, down there as well as in europe, the states or Canada you have roads I call "pool tables", my country is just a beautiful extense land, but man, the roads are awful! ha! so having an engine here that vibrates so much as the EVO and moreover on a hardtail frame, it's gonna be a painful experience! ha!....on the other hand that "Wooo!" says it all man!....that tank, those pipes, the frame itself, that tombstone tail light, the sissy bar, those rocker boxes, it sounds awesome! looks awesome!....ditch that digital speedo (I hate those!) doesn't go with that bike, get an analog one! god damn it! ha!.....so! overall awesome sled man! and you love it! that's what counts!....lookin' forward to see how it ends up, love your soundtrack! specially the final part when it seems is talkin' 'bout your bike not a woman, so yeah! go reach for the sky! nothin' like a wicked ass Harley! love this world! my world! Harleys&Rock!, what else does a man need? uh?, congrats! ride on!
I guess it is ok if you are going bar hopping but for long rides I want something with suspension and at my age I would be able to get on but after a ride somebody bring in a crane to get me off and look great and sounds great
Truly trust me once you see you will personally thank me they are the best and won’t rip you off give them ah call and see there work they are brilliant at what they do
Really nice bike. Congratulations. By the way, a friend of mine's a bit short of cash. He's thinking about selling a kidney. I hope you don't mind, but I've given him your number. Edit: If you get it, you owe me a spotter's fee!
"Old School" You didn't have any money, you made what you didn't have, and called in all of the favors owed to you in parts and services, in order to get your bike on the road. We can get away with that here in the US. You guys have some very strict vehicle regulations.
