I am in my early 60s and retired at 53. Lots of people gave me pushback because they had difficulty grasping the concept of not working if you don’t have to. I looked at my life as stages. I earned everything I have now through a lot of hard work, but I owe it to myself to “stop and smell the roses” in my final stage of life. In my case I left the country after I retired and live in Latin America. It allowed me to get away from all the negative things happening in America while appreciating my new environment. I have yet to meet anyone who regrets retirement.

Nice way to retire. For me, I believe retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My wife and I both spent same number of years in the civil service, she invested through a wealth manager and myself through the 401k. We both still earning after our retirement.

This is true. I'm in my mid 50's now. My wife and I were following this same trajectory. Last two years, I pulled out my money and invested with her wealth manager. Not catching up with her profits over the years, but at least I earn more. I'm making money even before retiring, and my retirement fund has grown way more than it would have with just the 401(k). Haha.

It's unfortunate most people don't have such information. I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $875k by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Doesn't matter if the economy is misbehaving; great wealth managers will always make returns.

Interesting Roger. I think this is something I should do, but I've been stalling for a long time now. I don't really know which firm to work with; I feel they are all the same but it seems you’ve got it all worked out with the firm you work with so i surely wouldn’t mind a recommendation.

I definitely share your sentiment about these firms. When I was starting out, I checked out a couple of freelance investors online, so you could do the same. I personally work with “Colleen Janie Towe”, and she's is widely recognized for her proficiency and expertise in the financial market. With a comprehensive knowledge of portfolio diversification, she is acknowledged as an authority in this field. Most likely, her deets can be found on the net, so you can confirm yourself.

Many folks struggling to cover basic expenses often face this challenge because they didn't save enough during their working years. The choices made in preparing for retirement have significant impacts, as seen in my own family. Different investment strategies led to different outcomes. With guidance from a financial advisor, I'm now enjoying my retirement.

Yes, I'm in my mid-50s, and a few years back, I moved my investments to my wife's wealth manager. While I haven't caught up to her long-term gains, my current earnings and the growth of my retirement fund, compared to just relying on the 401(k), are pretty satisfying.

My grandfather worked two jobs and at times, three to support a family of five children. He took no holidays away during his working life - there wasn’t enough money for that. At 69 he finally retired and my grandmother booked a cruise for them to celebrate the end of a long working life and the start of his retirement. Three weeks into his retirement and a week before they were due to board the cruise liner he said that he was feeling odd while having Sunday lunch. My grandmother sensed that it was serious and called a doctor and a priest who blessed my grandfather and ministered last rights. My grandfather passed away at home the same afternoon. There was never to be a cruise or any rest and retirement before he entered the grave. Three weeks was the sum total of his retirement after working for 50 years. I’m 57 now and will be retiring at 60. I’m very conscious now of the passage of time and how little of quality time remains. I’ve worked away from my family as an expatriate for more than two decades and would like to spend more time with them and with friends. I hope that I haven’t left it too late.

You have a nice friendly down to earth personality and excellent viewpoints. My wife is 65 and I’ll be 65 in August. We want to retire now but here in the USA health care costs are an obstacle. We’ve saved a decent amount but even 5 months of paying 100% of our health insurance will cost over $10,000. That could buy us a couple months as snowbirds.
I got hit with the surprise of my life last year, Bladder Cancer. It was caught early. I had an amazing robotic surgery and things are going really well with no cancer in lymph nodes and a clear CAT scan.
We have a new 30 foot camping trailer. The plan is to retire at end of August when we both have Medicare. We’re hitching up the camper in September and going to spend a month in San Diego visiting my son and exploring south Texas and Gulf Coast. Then February and March of 2024 a campground in Fort Lauderdale.
I have tears in my eyes while typing this. Thanks for the inspiration!

On April 28th of this year. I retired at the age of 59....and so far it has been the best decision I ever made. It took me almost two years to pull the trigger mainly because of fear so I created a checklist of things that I needed to have accomplished before pulling the trigger. That checklist has been completed and now I have retired with no fears.
Best decision ever. I still have to remember that I don't have to work and that I can just jump in my car and go anywhere I want for however long I want. The freedom is amazing. Right now I'm just laying in bed surfing youtube. I don't have to rush to get my day started. I can leisurely spend some quiet time to myself before starting my day....I love this stress free life.

Absolutely spot on points. We have always taken our vacations and have increased our travel as we grew in our careers. We have traveled a good bit of the world and really want to do more of that, much more. Health is key, once it's gone, you don't get it back. So we are retiring early as well to enjoy our go-go years. We found you can spend 2 months in a country doing long term stays ( month at a time ) for the same price as booking a single 7 to 9 day tour. Time is the only thing you cannot make more of. You can always make more money, more friends, have more bucket list items and experiences, but time is finite. On that note, I have never heard anyone on their death bed say they wished they would have worked more. If they have regrets, it's always what they didn't do that haunts them. So go do NOW !!

At age 71, I have been semi-semi retired for a few years now but feel like my decision to fully retire is long overdue. Retirement just doesn't mean pay off mortgage and pay off car and say ok I achieved my goal after working 30 to 40 years. You live only once and life meaning should me more than that........
You don't have to have 1 million dollar in your account to retire as every financial so call guru says on TV or otherwise you can be create woth your money and life style and think how to stretch small money and be happy in your life. Two most of waste of money I see in people life here eating out alot not only unhealthy but it is expensive and unnecessary shopping for clothings and things that you can do just fine without them. There are a lots of marketing and advertisements here for companies to get billions of dollar profit and you stay broke or stuck with credit card payments........

@@CampbellDevonne I was considering changing my investment strategy and planning to sell certain positions. As my retirement is coming soon,I became increasingly stressed. After thoroughly researching Christy Vallen D'souza on internet, I concluded that I had made an informed decision. Thank you for this Pointer. She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her too.

After working 50 years of my life and paying into retirement, I now get taxed on my retirement. What a lie and a joke our government is.

The trouble with every retirement video (or even just general financial management video) that I see is that the content creator speaks as if the content consumer is a unitary, independent actor. I would make a zillion and one different life decisions, including when to retire and “to what” if I weren’t married to someone who behaves as if money doesn’t exist. I’ll tell you what my (forced “our”) retirement plan is: Do nothing, like idiots rowing a boat on the Niagara River with the Falls in sight.

Ms. Norman Davis helped me manage my assets by introducing my to the best trading platform and strategies, I earned a lot of $$$ working with Norman at the comfort of my home. I still keep in touch with the amazing lady

I have a master in mathematical finance, so it wasn’t so easy to get me convinced to begin an investment without me carrying out proper research on her. I had her broker ID checked and she’s fully verified! So I began with a few bucks, only to get huge returns in a month. I reinvested and now I get long term monthly returns… So glad I don’t rely on pay checks anymore.

This is still a window-shopping market. But there are a lot of intriguing stocks to watch from a variety of sectors. You don’t have to act on every forecast, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.kudos to Norman, great remarks!
