If I just wanted to replace the chrome cap with a new one, is it necessary to remove the wheel/arch liner etc, as your vid shows the cap is attached to the second insert you removed from the cap area itself.
Hi. I have a flat cap version but it seems to be after sinking below bodywork. Is it the same procedure to adjust? Is there adjustment on hinge or where?
There are 4x tabs behind the hinge that can get bent when installing the cap. Luckily you can just open the cap and bend them forward and it should sit level. Hope that helps
I just found it on eBay. People are braking cars all the time on there. The flap I installed is actually of the none Cooper S version (R50) so I searched “Mini R50 breaking” on eBay and quite a few car came up then it’s just a matter of finding a car that still has a filler flap and ringing them for a price. The conversion is very simple since it’s designed for the R50 which is exactly the same as the Cooper S (R53)
Also if you want to make sure you are getting a matching colour to your body work, you can find the paint code of your car on the driver side of the engine block, then when you ring them you can check it matches, so it doesn’t look out of place
Great job
I want to do the opposite do you still have the original chrome one with the British racing green surround i could buy from you?
No I sold it sorry
Great Explanation!
What's the need to remove the rear filler neck? Seems its all from the front unclipping?

Where did you even find that. I am looking for the flush mount conversion.
