      Already sent $100 to BIC. I'll do another fundraiser around the holidays, since they are particularly difficult for people.

    I'm just starting to come off after 27 years on 1mg of klonopin. It's a mess coming off, that's for sure. I keep watching videos like yours & it's helping. Thank you.

      RM CP omigoodness! That’s a long time! I’m so sorry. It won’t be easy but it’s TOTALLY possible! Have you figured out what brought you to psych meds in the first place? Cuz that’s where the work starts.

    I jumped off of 7mgs of Xanax/ klonopin in one week in a rehab. The next 8 months were terror. I can’t believe I didn’t kill myself. I couldn’t even walk to get a water out of my own refrigerator. I lost everything

    • @RASJACOBSON
      @RASJACOBSON  5 лет назад +1

      I cannot imagine jumping at that kind of dose! How are you doing now? I thought *I* was a warrior...but YOU?! YOU are the warrior!

      I’m doing really good! You really do heal! I never thought I would. There is HOPE!! Don’t ever give up or give in. Some days will be so bad but I hope anyone reading this knows if they can just get through day by day it does get back to normal. Ps. I really couldn’t of done it without prayer to Jesus Christ!! I pray every day now where I used to forget

      Michele Varano Did you have terror of looking at, hearing, touching anything? Just seeing a plate on the side in the kitchen terrifies me, the texture of things terrifies me. The world feels like it is disintegrating. My body feels like waxy latex and not mine. Nothing feels the right weight or feel - just picking up my glasses terrifies me. The inside of my mouth feels wrong and repulsive and all fruit, veg, meat and fish feels repulsive in my mouth.
      I have had to reinstate several times due to severe muscle contracture I was on for in first place but still in hell. Can’t stay on, can’t get off.

    • @michelevarano977
      @michelevarano977 5 лет назад

      Just ME yes, I know the Hell you are living in all too well. It doesn’t let up either. It’s non stop I’m so sorry. I was in that position for about 3 months. You will get windows where the world starts to feel real again. Keep watching these videos to help you. Also, if you can try not to reinstate again. There is something called ‘kindling’ and each time it just gets worse. I am praying for you!! I’m not very religious but I prayed to God non stop and it really helped as well

    That was a great video very inspiring and reassuring and I agree that the Ashton method is too fast for me that's why I'm doing my taper a different way it'll probly take me 4 years to taper off the 10 mg xanax that I am on if you have any questions or any um have helpful tips or if I'm going to do it the wrong way any information will be so grateful and congratulations on the success of your taper and your healing and I'm so happy for you I will be there one day too

      I have no reason to believe that you won't heal. It just takes a really long time. We inadvertently got off our our paths and it takes a while to rebuild. You can do it! I'm here if you have any questions of need support!

    I was taken off 1 mg klonopin daily after 14 years. now that it’s no longer in my system my life fell apart n I’m no longer the same...I experienced a kind of stroke which attacked all my muscles, digestive system n brain, even eyes...I could barely move or speak. I was in a shock for months n experienced horrible terror, although my overall withdrawal syndrome has been 21 months so far n I’ve recovered only minimally. I suppose it’s a miracle I can think, articulate myself n type, I wasn’t able to do even that this time last year. It also seems like a miracle I can laugh, cry or hiccup considering my diaphragm practically collapsed n I could barely breathe. I can walk better now but still unable to drive, run or do any exercise. I can barely pick up anything my arms n wrists are so weak. My reaction time is a fraction of what it used to be, I’m so devastated.

    8 months off a 14 year xanax addiction with no taper. Finally starting to feel like I can live on this planet in this body again. But still without a job and lonely. What a horrible drug.

      @@nitzaperez7173 yeah i was terrified for months , i was scared to stand up during the first couple of days. What happened inside my head, no one should ever have those kinda thoughts. It gave me ptsd , I thought I was insane and would never be normal again. My life is still really hard I don't know if I'll ever be the same.

    Thank you for sharing :) besides going to work and to eat at my Aunt's house on Sundays, I've been basically completely isolated for the past 16 months. I'm starting to feel better but I'm still very anxious around ppl. Did you get all your social skills back with healing and time or did you have to constantly work at it and push your comfort zone everyday or both? I used to be pretty outgoing and I HATE feeling so awkward

      RAS Jacobson
      Hello Renée, thank you for reply to my question. I really appreciate that.
      I have messaged many people regarding this condition and I usually get a negative response which freaks me out.
      I am tapering Klonopin 1 mg, I have 5 more months to go.
      I am using water titration ( micro cuts)
      I don’t have a lot of symptom except 2
      Insomnia and inner Akathisia.
      I think I would trade inner Akathisia for loads of other symptoms, I know it might sound silly. Inner Akathisia is very torturous for me. I am afraid it will never go away. I haven’t figured out what helps this condition and what doesn’t.
      I hope you could give me some insight.
      I wonder how long did you suffer with this?
      Did it take a long time?
      What helps?
      I wish to find out more about this so I can help myself, I am not asking for some false hope or someone to make me feel better, I just want to know the truth.
      Good bless you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
      I

      Azemina Suljic I can tell you what worked for me: lots of deep breathing, RUclips meditations & bodywork including cranial sacral massage. I also practiced radical acceptance and gave it all up to G-d. I am truly a servant now, having been healed. I wish you the best on your healing journey. Have you figured out what brought you to psych drugs in the first place? Once I looked at THAT wound, things started to change. I know that probably sounds loopy, but it’s true. I got off my path ...waaaaay off and this injury was a cosmic ass- kicking/correction. I’m back on my path now, and life is soooooo much better on this side! 🌸Stay the course!

      I just had some anxiety (some financial issue at that time) my friends inspired me to go and get some “ meds” and that’s how I got in them, when I think back that anxiety that I had was walk in the park comparing to what meds did.
      How long it took for your Akathisia to go away?

    • @RASJACOBSON
      @RASJACOBSON  5 лет назад

      Money issues are NOTHING compared to one’s health. I’m sure you are seeing that now. I also hope you’ve realized those “friends” led you down a very bad path. You don’t need friends like that!

    Could you tell me what symptoms you had (physical, mental, and appearance)?

    • @RASJACOBSON
      @RASJACOBSON  5 лет назад

      I had every single solitary possible symptom you can imagine. I don't like to focus on symptoms any more because I want you to understand that I considered myself a worse case scenario and I am doing great now. I run my own business, I just started a job as a waitress (not anything I've ever done before), and I'm loving independently, taking care of myself, etc...
